Stepping over the threshold into the double-height hallway, you know you’re in an unforgettable destination. The stairs and balcony sweep around above you and light streams in from every direction. This detached house is designed so you can feast your eyes on the sea from all angles. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, play and relax in the open plan living space, games or TV rooms. The wonderful unique glass-floored lookout at the top completes this one-of-a-kind house. Soft colours, antique furniture and interesting artwork combine for a restful feel and huge light-filled rooms and wood burners are perfect for all seasons.
Wake to the sight and sound of the sea in five of the six spacious bedrooms, four on the first floor, one on the ground floor, and a charming attic bedroom at the top. For complete privacy, each bedroom has its own stylish en suite, with two featuring luxurious slipper baths where you can soak up the views.
This detached self-catering holiday house is positioned in an enviable spot on the edge of South Green. The lawn wraps around three sides, and a bank slopes down to the footpath that meanders past colourful beach huts to the sandy shore. A pebble-dash wall separates the garden from the green, with gates to the driveway where you can park four cars. Doors open from the hall at the back into the garden, as well as from the TV room into a smaller sunken garden, furnished for outside dining under expansive skies.
Entrance Hall
This remarkable entrance gives bags of space to unload the car and settle into your vacation. A dazzling driftwood chandelier takes centre stage, surrounded by an eclectic mix of artwork and furnishings. For cooler months, there’s a huge fireplace with brick hearth and wood burner. The bursting bookcase promises to keep you busy throughout your stay. Light streams down from the glass floor of the unique lookout above.
Living/Kitchen/Dining Room
A wonderful room, sure to be at the heart of a happy holiday. Sun streams through the massive bay window in the living area, furnished with deep comfy sofas and chairs. Choose a game from the well-stocked cupboard with TV above it. Those needing to do a spot of work can do so at the deep desk in the corner.
Enjoy long lazy meals at home at the huge dining table with nine dining chairs and a bench. Alternatively, perch on one of the four-bar stools and chat to the ‘chef ‘in the kitchen.
Kitchen units run along the wall at the back of the house with slatted blinds at the windows overlooking South Green. Integrated appliances include an oven and separate grill at waist height, a five-ring induction hob, an American style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a free-standing microwave. There’s plenty of room for storing groceries in a gigantic larder, and wooden worktops for food prep with a double butler sink. Seek inspiration from the numerous cookbooks. A bay window sits to the side so the light shines in as the sun moves around the house.
Additional living Room
Fun times can be had in this beautiful room. There is a games table and four chairs for you to sit and enjoy the large variety of board games provided. There’s a relaxed space with sofa and chairs by the big sash windows so guests can have a quiet moment with good book if preferred.
TV Room
Off the hallway, this room will have a large luxurious sofa and large TV, just waiting for you to enjoy a movie night. French doors open onto the terrace and garden at the side of the house.
Ground Floor Bedroom
Listen to the sea lapping on the shore in this double aspect bedroom overlooking the beach and the pier, with a king-size bed, flanked by bedside units. Unpack and make yourself at home with a big walk-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk with chair and a dressing table by the window with a chair.
En Suite Shower Room
The large corner shower has rain and handheld showers, there’s a washbasin, heated towel rail and traditional high-level toilet positioned so you can look out to sea (or close the shutters.)

Conveniently off the hallway so easily accessible from all rooms on the ground floor.
First Floor
The wide wooden open tread staircase has a handrail on the right and takes you to the large first-floor landing, where you’ll find lots of split levels and relatively steep steps from the master and Juliette bedrooms into their en suites. Wood floors run throughout this level, with lots of rugs dotted around, and doors opening to the laundry room and four of the bedrooms, with en suites beyond. Wooden stairs rise to the top floor.
Pier Bedroom
Wide windows give you a stunning scene of colourful beach huts running along the beach to the pier in the distance. This generous bedroom has a super king bed which sits between bedside units, a chair and ample storage in an antique glass-fronted wardrobe with hangers, shelves, and drawers.
En Suite Shower Room
Double doors open into this quaint en suite. The shower cubicle has both rain and handheld showers, wash-basin, WC, heated towel rail and window at the back of the house.
Juliette Bedroom
Beautiful big bedroom with bay window and doors opening onto the Juliette balcony so you can gaze out to sea. The zip and link twin beds can be set up as a king size on request. Additional furniture includes a massive antique mahogany mirrored wardrobe with bags of hanging room, drawers and shelves; bedside units and a chair.
En Suite Bathroom
This is the type of bathroom dreams are made of! Soak up the view of sand and sea in the magical slipper bath, positioned by the semi-circular window. All essentials are here too! Hand shower over the bath, wash-basin, WC, heated towel rail, and a step up to the bedroom.
Master Suite
Wake to the uninterrupted vision of the sun rising over the sea from the comfort of your super king-size bed in this expansive bedroom. Elegant French-style bedside tables sit on either side of the bed. There’s a chest of drawers and a pair of pretty upholstered chairs in the bay window which wraps round so you can see the pier to your left and all the way towards Aldeburgh to the south. Double doors open onto the balcony so you can fill your lungs with sea air.
Even if you travel with a trunk you’d struggle to fill the walk-in wardrobe, fitted with shelves, drawers, and hanging space!
En Suite Shower/Bathroom
Sit back in the decadent slipper bath and look out to see through the shuttered window. Two basins face a mirror in the centre of the room, which also has a fully tiled double shower cubicle with fixed shower rose, WC and heated towel rail.
Children’s Bedroom
Two sets of bunk beds make this a fun place where younger guests can let their imagination run away with them, inspired by the view of the cannons positioned menacingly on the green. There’s a balcony with approx 3” railing accessed through the double doors (locked for safety!) and a chest of drawers.
En Suite Bathroom
Another super bathroom which has a full-size bath with adjustable hand shower over, washbasin, WC, heated towel rail and window overlooking the drive. A cupboard gives extra storage room if needed.
Laundry Room
Perfect for all that sandy and salty beachwear! Fitted with an enormous top-loading washing machine, heavy-duty dryer, sink, fixed hanging rack and folding airer.
Second Floor
Wooden stairs take you from the first-floor landing to a half landing with step to the attic bedroom and three steps to the ‘lookout’. All have wooden floors.
Attic Bedroom
A charming bedroom, sitting quietly at the top of the house. Wide shuttered windows look out over the rooftops and village green. A gorgeous mahogany sleigh bed under the sloping ceiling has a bedside cabinet and wicker hampers piled up to create a bedside table. A unique hand-painted chest of drawers and wardrobe with drawers beneath gives you plenty of space to unpack.
En Suite
Tucked into the eaves, this well designed en suite has a sizeable stylish fully tiled shower cubicle, wash-basin, WC and heated towel rail.
The Lookout
An incredible spot to enjoy sunsets. Perched at the top of the house with an amazing glass floor above the first-floor landing. Windows wrap around three sides so you can enjoy the view of the sea, sandy beach stretching south past Walberswick down to Thorpeness, Southwold Green and the towns rooftops to the west. Six bar stools invite you to sit and sip cocktails and an innovative cupboard has a sink and drainer where you can wash up!
Outside
This detached and big self-catering holiday house sits in an enviable spot on the edge of South Green, above the path leading past colourful beach huts to the beach. Gates open into the gravel drive at the back of the house with parking for four cars. If you need to park more cars, there’s another set of gates open onto the lawn at the side. The electric car charging port is located in the garage on the right.
The lawn wraps around three sides of Cannons with grass bank sloping down to the public footpath at the front. A pebble-dash wall (approx 3”) separates the garden from the green. At the side is a slightly sunken north-facing garden, giving more privacy, and a patio furnished with table and chairs. The door by the games room gives access to the garden where there’s a gorgeous bespoke table with driftwood base and glass top. If you want to bring bikes you can store them safely in the garage. You’ll find a gas Weber BBQ here too.

SOUTHWOLD

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
