Fawcett Road is just off The Terrace which runs immediately above and parallel with the High Street and is one of the most sought after residential locations in Aldeburgh, both because of the easy access to the High Street and sea front and because of the excellent sea views over Aldeburgh's rooftops. Two sets of steps connect The Terrace to the High Street, The Town Steps and West Lane.
Aldeburgh is one of the most fashionable and sought after coastal towns in the country and is enjoyed for its picturesque, un-spoilt position on East Suffolk's Heritage Coastline. The town has a vibrant High Street with an excellent range of brand name and local shops, restaurants and galleries, as well an independent cinema. Aldeburgh's golf course is ranked within the top one hundred courses in the UK and Robert Sadler, whose Studio this was, also designed and constructed the nine-hole River Course at Aldeburgh Golf Club. There is even a golf competition every year in Robert Sadler's memory, with the prize of 'Bob's Mug' donated by one of the artist's close friends.
The sailing club draws members from across the country for the excellence of the sailing on the rivers Alde and Ore.
Aldeburgh's reputation is enhanced by its annual Festival for Music and Arts which is the centrepiece of a year-round programme of events centred on the Maltings Concert Hall in nearby Snape.
