    “The smoke alarm in the kitchen went off about 10 times in our stay.”

    It is located right above the oven and cooking area. Everything set it off - toast, opening the oven door at all. It needs to be moved. It put us off cooking. The water was not hot enough for a shower or bath. It was only by accident that the owner had to come around due to a leak and told us to turn on the immersion . It was then hot enough but that was 2 days in. This should be an instruction in the manual. Last thing - you need somewhere to have coats and put boots etc. walking is a natural ...

Arlo Cottage is an exquisite, pet friendly cottage in the heart of Orford. The property has undergone an extensive renovation to create a simply stunning holiday home for couples to enjoy all year round. The owners have created a boutique space, oozing luxury. On the ground floor you enter into the homely sitting room complete with wood-burning stove, from the sitting room you enter the extended kitchen/dining room complete with bi-fold doors taking you out onto the patio garden. Cottage style stairs lead up to the first floor with stylish king size bedroom, and luxurious bathroom featuring a gorgeous freestanding bath and walk in rainfall shower. Ground Floor Entering from Castle Lane into the sitting room. Hard flooring leads throughout the ground floor. Sitting Room This bright and charismatic room is the perfect space to sit back and relax. There is a stylish two seater sofa and armchair to sit and enjoy the 42'' Smart TV. The wood-burning stove provides a cosy atmosphere in the winter months. Kitchen/Dining Room A bright and airy space with light oozing through the bi-fold doors and lantern. In the morning the sunrise fills this room. A wonderful space to cook up some culinary delights, and sit back and enjoy a special meal. The modern kitchen with beautiful copper detailing has everything you could possibly need, including an electric oven with four ring induction hob, fridge with icebox freezer, slimline dishwasher, Nespresso Krups coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Meals can be enjoyed either up the breakfast bar, or at the glass dining table. In the summer months open up the bi-fold doors and allow the outside to come in. First Floor Wooden cottage stairs with hand rail lead up to the first floor landing. King Bedroom With vaulted ceilings, this wonderfully spacious room is a tranquil setting to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. An elegant room with feature panel wall, enjoy a comfortable nights sleep in the king size bed with bedside tables and decorative lamps either side. There is a built in cupboard and chest of drawers for your belongings. An extra addition to this room is a 42'' Smart TV. Bathroom The bathroom feels like you are at a boutique hotel. An ultra-stylish bathroom suite featuring a roll top bath, walk in rainfall shower, WC, wash basin with vanity mirror above and heated towel rail. Be sure to pack your bubble bath and book and enjoy a long soak in the bath. Outside Arlo Cottage benefits from the patio garden with a table and chairs for you to enjoy that morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Parking is available on neighbouring roads on a first come basis.

The attractive, unspoiled fishing village of Orford is situated on the bank of the River Alde and looked over by its magnificent 12th century castle built by Henry II. The village is home to a hotel and restaurant, two pubs, village store, bakers and wonderful fish restaurant and smokehouse. Orford is surrounded by farm land and forest in an area known as the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Centrally located, just 12 miles from Woodbridge to the south and Aldeburgh to the north, and just 5 miles from the famous Snape Maltings complex. The village of Orford is steeped in history. Henry II commissioned a castle to be built in the 12th century which is a must see when you visit the area. Owned and maintained by English Heritage you can enjoy this wonderful 'keep' and from the top there are breathtaking views for miles on a clear day.
