"A wonderful stay in super accommodation. The log burner was a treat in such cold weather! All the little finishing touches were much appreciated too! We were truly able to switch off from the stresses & strains of everyday life and enjoy the beautiful location & great views. We hope to come back in the summer"
"Thank you, we have had a fabulous few days and love your little cottage. We are going home relaxed and back later in the year for fish and chips and the sea air"
“We’ve stayed in Aldeburgh every August for many years and 6 Coastguard Cottages is by far the nicest property we have rented – well renovated, comfortable and cosy, and brilliantly located. We’ll be back…”
“Excellent weather meant the decking/sun trap was used most. A great location, expertly and beautifully finished. A five star stylish conversion.”
“What an excellent find 6 Coastguard Cottage has been – beautifully appointed and so well equipped – right down to the Lego which the boys loved playing with. Hope to be back in the Spring!”
"This has to be the most amazing accommodation we have stayed in. Everything you could wish for..".
The cottage is on four floors and the feel throughout is of a boutique hotel, with sleek bathrooms, neutral colour schemes and well-designed spaces. There is WiFi access at this property and the cottage is pet friendly but see note below.
The front door leads into light and airy living/dining room with two chocolate brown leather sofas to seat four, plus two wicker chairs with cushions. Oak floorboards and a wood burning stove ensure that the cottage is both warm and cosy in the wintertime yet cool in the summer. With windows at both ends of the room, it catches the coastal morning and evening sun. We think we can picture you relaxing here with a glass of wine in front of the fire, listening to your favourite music on the Bose wireless speaker. At the other end of the living space is an oak dining table and seating for six. Stairs from the living space lead up to the 1st and 2nd floor bedrooms and bathrooms and down to the kitchen.
LOWER GROUND FLOOR:
The fitted kitchen has a range of units that include an integrated oven, slimline dishwasher, microwave, fridge, washing machine, wine cooler and Nespresso Coffee machine. A dining table comfortably accommodates four people (this is in addition to the dining table on the ground floor which seats six), with a small TV above it. Next to the kitchen is a cloakroom with w.c. and sink.
Patio doors lead from the kitchen to the rear garden which is decked with outdoor seating. Steps lead down to a small enclosed pebble patio with access to an alleyway that leads directly to Aldeburgh's popular High Street, and the beach beyond.
BEDROOM 1: A lovely room with a double bed, stripy cushions, white painted floor boards, bedside tables, fitted wardrobe and roman blind.
BEDROOM 2: This is a small bedroom with bunk beds (full size singles) and cheery bunting on the wall, so it is particularly suited to children. There's a chest of drawers and clothes hanging space.
FAMILY BATHROOM: This stunning modern bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, w.c., hand basin and heated towel rail.
Narrow stairs from the 1st floor hallway lead to the second floor:
BEDROOM 3 AND EN SUITE: The Master bedroom has a bespoke king size bed, oak floorboards, sloping ceilings and benefits from a glorious view over the roof tops of the sea through one of the two velux windows. There is an ipod docking station and a small but beautifully designed en-suite shower room (shower, w.c., small hand basin).
There are small patio gardens to the front and rear of the property, ideally positioned to catch the morning and afternoon/evening sun. The front garden has wooden benches and a flower bed and at the rear the garden is a split level decking/pebble area with patio furniture and BBQ. There is a small outside store room with room to store small bikes.
On-road parking is usually available on The Terrace. With this said, parking is available on a first come, first served basis on nearby roads.
All prices include bed linen, towels, gas and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits or chocolates to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.
This Aldeburgh holiday cottage is equipped with gas central heating, wood burning stove, large flat-screen Smart HD TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime available) in living room and small flat-screen TV in the kitchen, Sky freesat, DVD, Bose wireless speaker, BBQ, stainless steel cooker with gas hob and extractor fan, slimline dishwasher, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine and wine cooler. A travel cot and high chair are available. A selection of books, games, DVDs are also provided. The house has free WiFi although please note that there is no helpline support for this.
