Lovely cottage in a great location.

We enjoyed our stay.

A lovely cottage for a break, and a really nice village.

Good corner shop, and lots of old buildings including church. Pub was good for an evening meal. BBQ was small but we managed for 4 adults. Nice outdoor space, quite private. However, noisy on the A12, but quieter at night, surprisingly.

A delightful cottage with a lovely al fresco dining patio to the rear.

Very well maintained, comfortable and equipped. In the heatwave the tower fans in the bedrooms were much appreciated! The owner was very quick to respond to a minor maintenance issue. A great spot for touring the area. Would recommend.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Cavan Cottage.

It’s ideally situated to explore Suffolk. The property is clean, well equipped and comfortable. Nice outside space for 2 dogs and parking for 2 cars. We met the owners who are lovely and very helpful. Thank you.

A wonderful location for exploring East Anglia.

There was a pub directly across the road which served excellent food. Our first impression on arrival was very good downstairs with a well equipped kitchen (although no welcome pack) and plenty of space. The living room however was small and would not serve 6 guests (seats for 5 only) and seating was not at all comfortable. Upstairs, two bedrooms were very good but the third was small with very little facility for clothing other than a hanging rail. The en-suite to this room had no door and the towel radiator did not work so it was always cold. In the evenings all the house was very cold. We asked on the first two evenings (we didn't ask on the last two nights as it felt as if we were going cap in hand) for the remotely controlled thermostat to be raised (which it was) and for us to be able to set the temperature to suit our comfort which was ignored. Thankfully there was a log burner which at least kept the living room at a comfortable temperature. This would have been a wonderful cottage for us if not for these issues.

Booked this beautiful cottage for Christmas week and it didn’t disappoint, everything was perfect and well thought of, from the welcome hamper to the Christmas decorations.

Everything that you need is supplied. A beautiful cottage in a lovely village next to a pub. Just perfect!

The cottage was very well presented,clean and homely with a lovely large modern kitchen.

The lounge was on the small size but not a problem with us being a group of 4. The en-suite bathroom did not have a door fitted to it which didn’t feel was right. The cottage on the whole was rather on the chilly side. The neighbouring property had 3 dogs that barked every time you popped outside which caused our small dog problems. It was a well kept and pretty little outside area though.

Lovely relaxing stay.

Hosts very welcoming, friendly and helpful. All. I’d cons, just a warm and friendly atmosphere. Lovely for the dogs too.

Lovely clean and well appointed property.

Friendly and helpful owners. My husband forgot an item and the owner contacted us immediately. Great location for visiting local Suffolk attractions. Aldeburgh, Southwold, Thorpeness, Dunwich Heath (next to RSPB Minsmere) all worth a visit and close by. We had a lovely relaxing week here and I would recommend.

A lovely cottage, one of the best we have been too.

A mixture of new and old furniture and accessories which was tastefully done. We have a large dog and the garden was perfectly adequate, as there was a small patch of grass for the dog to use. Yes it was situated next to a busy road, but this didn't bother us too much, but gave us easy access to all the local towns and villages. The only tiny negative was that we all ended up using the same bathroom for a shower as the bathroom only had a hand-held shower over the bath, but not too much of an issue as the shower itself was good, but the person who has the bedroom with the ensuite has to vacate their room, as there is no door between the bedroom and shower room. For us this was only a minor issue, everything else was great, and we particularly loved the very large modern kitchen/dining room. Yoxford is a lovely village with pretty houses and the Yoxman, a 26ft high statue, is well worth a visit and only a few minutes walk from the cottage.

Our stay at Cavan Cottage was disappointing for several reasons.

* despite being mentioned in the house guide there was no welcome pack (not even a bottle of milk) * the accommodation is not adequate for six people. It is only possible to seat five people in the lounge. The bathroom/shower arrangements are inadequate for six people: the shower in the bathroom has no shower curtain/screen and cannot be fixed to the wall; the shower room can only be accessed via the small bedroom raising issues of privacy and disturbance. The fridge is small and insufficient for six people (we had to put food items in the wine cooler). * the house lacked a lot of basic items, e.g no hand towel for each guest, no proper saucepans in the kitchen. * It was very noisy. While there is a comment in the property details regarding road noise, it was particularly bad as we had to have all the windows open because of the record temperatures. There was also noise from frequent dog barks and neighbours till quite late. All in all we were disappointed and decided to cut short our stay. We left on Monday rather than Thursday.

This cottage was absolutely perfect for us (2 adults and 1 dog) .

It was so clean and tidy. The bed was so comfortable. Our dog really settled in quickly Owners were really lovely and we knew if we needed anything they would help us. Surrounding area to walk our dog was perfect too. Thank you for a lovely few days

Very comfortable, beautiful cottage.

Well equipped, everything you need. Owners lived nearby, very nice and full of conversations, all about local new and walks. I recommend whole heartedly.

Had a wonderful bank holiday weekend at the cottage.

Modern decor with a cosy cottage feel. Great patio cottage garden for the dogs. Not much available within walking distance for drinks/food but local deliveries were quick and lots of places within a few min drive. Would definitely recommend and will probably return ourselves.

We had a wonderful stay at Cavan Cottage which made us love Suffolk even more.

It was a great base for a few nights and we were given great recommendations from Mark of places to go. We would definitely book again! Thanks

CAVAN COTTAGE IS REALLY LOVELY.

A FEW IMPROVEMENTS WOULD MAKE IT PERFECT. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SEATING IN THE LOUNGE. WE WERE 5 ADULTS AND THERE ARE TWO TWO SEATER SOFAS. A PROPER SHOWER OVER THE BATH IN THE SHARED BATHROOM IS A MUST, THE HAND HELD ONE IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO USE AS IT KEEPS POPPING OFF. A TOILET BRUSH IS REQUIRED IN THE ENSUITE. AN OVEN TRAY AND A SERVING SPOON ARE ALSO NEEDED. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE COTTAGE BUT THESE THINGS WOULD MAKE IT AMAZING.

We had a lovely short break in Cavan cottage.

Spacious, comfortable & well equipped. Very comfy beds, good shower & a bath too. Great location for Southwold & Aldeburgh, lots of walks for the dogs. Sizewell beach is well worth a visit. Highly recommend Cavan cottage.

We had an excellent week at Cavan cottage.

The bed we used was very comfortable and everywhere was very clean. The lovely modern kitchen was so well equipped, with plenty of crockery and cutlery. Please don't hesitate to book this cottage, we can highly recommend it.

Well equipped kitchen but some furniture at the end of its life.

The wooden outside furniture is in poor condition and should have been renovated before the season start. The biggest complaint is poor central heating and hot water temperature. The upstairs was 16 degrees in the morning with no means to control the central heating – I suspect this was done remotely by owner. This despite several guest noting this in the guest book. The hot water temperature was also too low – just about hot enough for a shower but not for a bath and to clean greasy dishes etc. I don’t expect to be cold when on holiday, it’s unacceptable to not provide central heating or means to control it. The listing for the cottage states it has heated towel rails, again these had been turned off with no means of turning them on. Damp towels and a cold bathroom – not what you want from a holiday let.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable, extremely clean and tidy.

Would recommend more kitchenware for cooking, pans, dishes, bowls as there wouldn’t be enough for a bigger party. Nice welcome beer and crisps thank you. Would return, nice owner too.

We had a wonderful stay at Cavan cottage- the property was incredibly well equipped with everything we needed.

Lovely comfortable beds & extremely clean throughout. Welcome basket was a really lovely and appreciated touch. Great location for visiting a variety of places- Southwold, Dunwich, Aldeburgh etc. Of note (as I know it’s mentioned in the listing & some previous reviews), the property is just off the a12 however we didn’t find noise to be an issue at all! Would highly recommend & definitely stay again if we visit the area.

Absolutely beautiful property !

Location was fantastic for us, about 15 mins drive from southwold and aldeburgh and a farm shop 5 mins drive Away ! Owner of property very friendly and helpful. Checking everything was ok. Will definitely stop here again. Only negative there isn't a pub open in the village.at the minute. However there is plenty around you a short drive away.

Lovely stay at Caven Cottage - owners were warm and welcoming.

Cottage was immaculate, well equipped and beds were comfy. Added attraction of wood burner when weather not so great. Would certainly recommend to others.

Conveniently located to visit the Suffolk coast.

An older cottage that has been nicely updated by the current owners. The garden was secure for our two dogs albeit our Labrador has never shown any inclination to scale fences. Fellow pet owners visiting will appreciate the council dog waste bin fixed to a post outside the neighbouring property!

Beautiful cottage.

Provided everything we needed for our weeks stay in Suffolk. Very clean and comfortable. Open plan kitchen is very nice. Only a short drive to the coast. Close by to a petrol station and shop. No pubs open in Yoxford. Not a problem with us but thought should mention it. Don’t think twice about booking this property.

Really enjoyed our stay in Cavan Cottage.

The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable. It is in a convenient location for local sightseeing and we enjoyed visiting Thorpeness, Southwold, Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh. The owners were really friendly and helpful with local knowledge and tips for dog-friendly walks.

Lovely little place to stay.

We will definitely go back. It was very comfy and a great location to visit Suffolk. The hosts are lovely and friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. The only downside is that there can at times be a lot of traffic noise due to proximity to the A12. We however, found that we got used to it and so was no a problem.

One of the best cottages we've stayed in.

Gorgeous kitchen with everything and lovely cosy fireplace. The owner was extremely helpful, telling us localrestaurants and fishing spots. Had a lovely meal in the Poachers Pocket, but sadly missed the reopening of the local pub over the road.

We made the most of our 3 nights here, the pub opposite had just opened so we have a try in the eve. Had a really nice time at Snape Maltings and amazing seafood at Solebay Fish Company in Southwold.
