Satis Cottage, Westleton

Satis Cottage is beautifully located for trips to Minsmere and Dunwich beach; the main places we wanted to visit during our three night stay.

Inside the cottage the bedrooms are of a good size and our double bed was comfortable. The secondary double glazing is effective at keeping out any road noise although this is minimal after 20.00. The shower room upstairs and bathroom downstairs are 5 star although the shower would benefit from a shower mat to reduce the risk of slipping. The Living Room has two comfortable sofas and useful coffee and occasional tables. The three other rooms downstairs have everything you could need but finding things is another matter. By the end of our stay we had eventually found what we were looking for but it was a bit frustrating to start with. The very small patios area is fine but not used other than by the dogs - it was February! The almost unforgivable downside was that there was no heating on anywhere in the house when we entered at 16.00 and it took a long while to work out which switches to put on and how the electric radiators worked. I was also surprised that there was a 16.00 access time as all my Airbnb experience has been 15.00 and that extra hour of daylight makes a difference between October and March. I have also had no trouble gaining earlier access if the property was vacant the previous day(s). To spell it out that no change would be considered didn’t come across as a friendly way of operating

Lovely cottage in the middle of Westleton.

We spent Christmas here and just managed to do the dinner but the cooking facilities could be upgraded for better comfort. The rooms aren't huge but they're cosy. The radiator in the upstairs bathroom didn't work. It was too cold to use the outside garden area, but it was very nice and safe for the dogs. Would stay again.

Feedback for owner - double bed needs firmer mattress, towel rail needs repair, tiny freezer would help General - excellent, well equipped holiday property in great position especially for Minsmere.

Utility room was useful

This was our second visit to the cottage.

This is ideally situated for visiting Minsmere, Southwold, Woodbridge, Thorpeness and so many others. The cottage is warm, cosy and very clean. Well equipped. Lovely to sit out in the garden when the weather is kind.

A very well appointed, comfortable and cozy cottage but there are two items which I would like to draw to your attention .

Firstly the hand rail finished short of the top of the stairs which made taking the final step a leap of faith and secondly the towel rail in the shower room was not working. After repeated calls to Sykes and the local office I was assured an engineer would come out to fix it which did not happen. Why not? One of the reasons I booked this cottage was the walk in shower and showering proved to be an unpleasant experience as the room was very cool .Apart from that a pleasant holiday.

Statis cottage is a lovely cottage, very well equipped and comfortable.

We had a lovely week there travelling round the Suffolk countryside . It's a good base for lots of places. The kitchen was so well equipped for when we wanted to cook a meal ourselves and the utility space was ideal for our labrador. Will definatley come back . A **

We had some issues on arrival at statis cottage.

1. Broken toilet seat upstairs 2. Shower room window upstairs could not shut open opening. 3. Unstable dinning room dinning table 4. Ants coming in through window seals from ant nest in front garden Powder was put down but did not work. 5. Dirty outside table and chairs full of birds mess. Advertised as alfresco dinning. 6. All window were dirty. Unfortunately maintence were could out twice and housekeeping came back to see to the outside furniture but did not look any different when she left. Still full of birds mess and moss. They need jet washing to get the moss off and birds mess. We found the bedrooms all comfortable and the parking space helpful. Would have preferred a bigger freezer. Despite complaining the owners refused any compensation.

We had a wonderful weeks holiday in Satis Cottage - our second stay.

Perfect position in the centre of Westleton straight across from our favourite pub and restaurant! The kitchen is well equipped everything we needed was thought of. We slept really well in the lovely bedroom with a super comfy bed. Loved both the shower and amazing bath! Very happy at Satis Cottage and will definitely be back.

The cottage is lovely but the kitchen is very small.

Only one person can be in there at a time. We appreciated the dog friendliness of the cottage but spent the whole time sneezing so perhaps the throw and cushions etc need more thorough cleaning. No logs or kindling were left which is a bit tight as we arrived as instructed at 4pm and did not want to drive around looking for logs in the dark. Key safe is in a ridiculous position and hard to reach. Great position in the village though - opposite the pub and a great base for exploring beautiful Suffolk.

We really enjoyed our stay at Satis Cottage which was exactly as described.

It made for a lovely short break in a beautiful part of the country. We enjoyed exploring the village and local area and Satis cottage made a great base. The dogs particularly enjoyed it and thank the owners for the treats and making them feel so welcome too. Thanks too for our welcome wine - much appreciated.

We had a fabulous stay at Satis Cottage.

We were so pleased with the little extras provided throughout the cottage very thoughtful of the owners. We felt at home in the cottage everything was perfect. Super comfy beds and fab shower. Loved the bath and made use of it! Kitchen and dining room perfect for cooking everything provided and lounge relaxing for evenings. The utility room is so useful when you have dogs and the garden enclosed. The only thing was the website states a freezer in the utility room and it's a second fridge. Luckily could just fit our dogs frozen raw food in the tiny freezing section so it was okay. Definitely be back to Satis Cottage love the location and spent many evenings across road in the Crown!

We loved Satis Cottage but there are a few points to note!

- Directions weren't great and we couldnt find it! - suggest you say its next to the garage! - After a very long journey We couldnt get it and eventually discovered the front door had been bolted from the inside! - We tried to call the contact number provided as we couldnt get in and nobody answered and we couldnt leave a message - We eventually got in through the garage thankfully! - The key safe is difficult to access above a plastic storage shed and wasnt locked

A lovely cottage.

Very clean except for the carpets and sofa which let the cottage down. The backyard was very disappointing. Overgrown shrubs made it feel dark and damp. The weather was sunny but no sun reaches the backyard in mid September except for one corner at midday. We couldn't sit there though because there's a large plastic storage box in the way. This should be on the other side of the yard. We won't book this cottage again because of the backyard.

We stayed last September, the property feels a little tired compared to our previous visit.

The house was bitterly cold on arrival, the heating was set to minimum when the external temperature was 7 degrees Celsius The upstairs bathroom shower head is damaged and consequently floods the bathroom every time it is used..The garden/ yard was overgrown and generally unkempt. The house is in a great location but requires some serious tlc.

Satis cleancottage was fabulous.

It was lovely clean and comfortable, it was equipped with everything that you could imagine right down to tinfoil. The bed was very nice to sleep in, both the up and down bathrooms were fabulous. The cottage was beautiful, I'm just sorry we couldn't stay longer, we will most definitely come back for another stay hopefully longer. Gorgeous cottage in a lovely village with great facilities.

Warmed up quickly for our few days away. Everything needed was provided in the kitchen with nice touches of handwash and lotion by all the basins. We made a note of maintenance updates in the book provided as the vacuum cleaner didn’t appear to be sucking up! Glass recycling is now on the road out to Leiston and not at the village hall so needs updating in the info folder.

Nice cottage in a lovely location and as described, however it needs some improvement.

The garden is overgrown and has not been maintained, the dining room carpet is very stained, the dishwasher doesn't seem to work properly and there were light bulbs not working.

The inside of the property was lovely and comfortable and well equipped, the outside could do with a bit of tidying and maintenance, the rose was so overgrown that you couldn’t see the property name.

One of the toilets was not flushing on arrival and although the maintenance team responded quickly it needs a more permanent fix, also bad phone signal made it hard to contact the company, overall a good place to stay for

The propery is much smaller than the photos suggest.

We found it clostrophobic.The garden is overgrown and needs a tidy up. We put the brown garden bin out for collection and contacted the council when not collected. The bill has not been paid. The garage two doors away park cars where they stop and clutter pavements and the cottage drive. Although well situated for touring the area we thought the property was overpriced.A paint job on the outside would not go amiss.

Pretty little cottage, superbly positioned close to both Aldeburgh and Southwold with Dunwich just a few mins drive away which is stunning.

Nice friendly pub opposite and the village shop is well stocked. If you don't want to do a 'mainstream' supermarket there are farm shops and a very good Budgens 5 mins away at Darsham. The high quality kitchen is very compact (not an issue for me at all) and I used the large and very useful utility room for storing our groceries (to note there are two fridges, one in the kitchen, one in the utility for perishables). The only kitchen "bits" I thought could be included with the cutlery/utensils are a pair of scissors, corkscrew, can opener but I normally pack this kind of thing anyway whenever I go away. Good quality bedrooms and bedding made for relaxing sleeps. We enjoyed mostly good weather so were able to sit out in the little courtyard garden :) The owners have put helpful instructions in the utility room to inform guests how things work including the radiators - we downloaded the App as suggested which was really good. All in all a super & much needed week away in a lovely cottage which I thought was excellent value for money and we would definitely like to return.

Exactly as advertised. Great for access to southwold and aldeburgh. Highly recommended. Please ignore some negative reviews online!

Great little cottage, in a perfect location, dog loved it as much as we did, and the extras left for us!

Had a lovely Christmas at the cottage.

Nice place to stay, we had a meal at The Crown which was really very good. Cottage is comfortable, clean and tidy. We much appreciated the little extras, nice soap in the bathrooms and so on. We enjoyed our visit.

We had a great week, the cottage is in a very good location and local amenities are plentiful.

Back again at Satis Cottage!

This year we have been blessed with very mild and dry weather - nothing like last year! The Cottage is still as cosy as ever and has everything one needs for a perfect break away. We are in our 9th year of visiting Westleton and still finding new walks. Positive feedback - maybe a sensor light by the side gate? Other than that, another great stay - thank you!

Well equiped cottage with everything we needed for a relaxed family break. Location is close to all the favourite places to visit, and only a 3mile walk to Dunstable beach through some amazing heathland.
