“Sea Green Cottage our THIRD YEAR and it’s starting to look a bit shabby, and needs a bit of attention from the owners.”

1/ curtains need to be rehung, 2/ back double bathroom toilet roll coming off, 3/ drive way weeded and swept , 4/ front garden weeded, both looking so untidy gives a very bad impression of the property. Housekeeping leaving only ONE bin bag for our 2 week stay, only TWO washing machine tablets likewise, only 6 mugs were not enough, and no salad dryer in the summer was a problem. And the poor plants/ olive trees on the terrace need to be watered regularly they were looking very sorry for ...

“Had an issue with the shower door which wouldn’t open on our last morning and did find a cracked wine glass in the cabinet Love the properties position on the green as central to the village this was our second winter stay here .”

. was cold on arrival would be nice to arrive to a warm house at this time of the year as we came in the evening after a lng journey and emptying a car A higher backed comfortable chair for older visitors would be great as we chose this property as it had a downstairs bedroom and bathroom but otherwise enjoyed the fire and the wonderful space .

Thank you for pointing out a couple of issues of which we were not aware. The heating is controlled remotely via the Hive app in the first instance, with the guests controlling it to their liking during their stay. It is exceptionally cold at the moment and I can only assume it was turned up too close to your arrival time. My apologies. As this was your second winter stay with us, you will appreciate I’m sure, the house is generally toasty on arrival. The house is in an exceptional position as you say and I hope you will consider a further stay with us. Property Owner

“What a wonderful place… Out second visit and will definitely be booking the next!”

Such a beautiful cottage and all the little extras so appreciated - the welcome pack, all kitchen/ cooking/fire place extras… (we’ve replaced anything we used). And lovely duvets on beds! Tiny suggestions which we hope helpful: - change the mattresses for both double beds as both were very creaky! - get shower squeegees so we can help clean the showers when using. Thank you for sharing your property - we love it!

“Beautiful house lovely location .”

Unfortunately we had a problem with the boiler that left us with no heating and hot water . The assistant and help they tried over the weekend were superb and although not sorted they tried and we survived. Would definitely go back .

“Duvet much too hot.”

Really needs a summer duvet as the bedrooms upstairs are very hot anyway. The shower head in the main bathroom badly needed descaling . We used the hand shower all week. However the property is in a lovely position and Walberswick is a wonderful spot. It was also nice and clean.

Dear Stephen, Thank you for making a couple of notes in the Housekeeping Book for our attention. As I am sure you know, Suffolk water is very hard and limescale build-up rapid! However, I have asked our housekeeping staff to make sure the kettle is descaled more regularly. With regard to the door handle to the master bedroom, which appears to have suffered some rough treatment, I have requested the Best of Suffolk handyman to see if he can fix or replace it. I hope these small but annoying issues did not spoil your enjoyment of the property and wonderful Walberswick. I do hope we see you again. Property Owner

“We had a wonderful, relaxing week in Walberswick - interspersed with some, longer than intended, energetic walks along the beach and through the commons and forests surrounding the East Suffolk coast.”

Take a good map. Sea Green Cottage was lovely; the big living, dining and kitchen room was ideal and the combination of radiators and log burner made it very comfortable. The whole house is light and airy, with the sun shining in across the village green into the living area. Quiet and peaceful for a late winter holiday beside the river estuary and sea shore, & 2 good pubs with restaurants within a stone's throw.

“Having stayed in a lot of cottages some being half the price of this one We feel the property was overpriced for what you got.”

The cottage lacked some cleanliness issues especially in the bedrooms and en suites. The soak aways hadn’t been cleaned so you paddled in water. This has been rectified as I did it myself. However location very good and a lovely village. From Glenda Saunders

This was especially disappointing to learn as we have worked very hard to ensure Sea Green Cottage exceeds expectations and all guests have a comfortable and happy stay. I must say that, to date, we have had nothing but positive comments. I have flagged up your concerns with our cleaners and have asked that they redouble their efforts. I inspect the property myself fortnightly and I have always found it to be immaculate. This must have been an unfortunate 'blip'. On the back of this, I have introduced a 'Housekeeping Book' in which guests can note down any issues or areas for improvement that do not need immediate attention but, nevertheless , can be dealt with between guest stays. The property

Sea Green Cottage is an absolutely exceptional newly refurbished detached holiday home positioned on the green in Walberswick. This pet friendly property has undergone an extensive renovation to create a gorgeous 5* holiday rental. The ground floor consists of a beautiful large open plan style kitchen/living/dining area, bedroom and bathroom. Carpeted stairs lead you up to the first floor, with two further bedrooms both with en-suites. The big bonus at this property is the stunning roof garden, with views out across the green, perfect for those warmer months. The property has some wonderful history behind it, the property used to be the village shop due to it's wonderful central position in the village, it was then brought and transformed into Sea Green Cottage by film star and producer Ann Todd. Ground floor Entering through the front door, into the entrance hall, with bathroom to your left, bedroom 1 in front, and to your right is the large kitchen/living/dining room. Kitchen / Sitting / Dining Room This room is a wonderful bright and spacious area for the whole family to enjoy, it is very much the heart of the home. The kitchen is one of dreams, positioned along one side of the room, broken into two sections. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, with an electric oven with four ring induction hob and extractor fan above, integrated dishwasher, kettle, toaster, Dualit cafe plus coffee machine (Nespresso compatible pods), 70/30 fridge-freezer, microwave and washing machine. The property is the perfect place to look up those culinary delights! The dining table is positioned in the dining room, and can be moved out from the wall when in use. The beautiful wooden table has two long bench seats with seat cushion either side and two chairs. The sitting area is very much the heart of the room, with a incredible warm and welcoming feel, the room features three luxurious two seater sofas, with coffee table in the centre. The room is centred around the wonderful wood-burning stove, with 55'' TV above. There are in addition window seats in both the bay windows, perfect for sitting with a good book or simply watching the world go by. Bedroom 1 A beautiful light room with two full size single beds with bedside table and lamp in between. There is a large chest of drawers and will be a beach hut style wardrobe for your belongings. A door leads to a locked owners cupboard. Family Bathroom A tranquil space to enjoy a long bath after a busy day at the beach. This room features beautiful panelling around the bath with over head shower, wash basin and WC. First Floor Carpeted stairs wth hand rail lead up to the first floor landing area. Bedroom 2 This beautiful calming space featuring a luxurious king size bed, with bedside tables and stylish lamps. There will be a beach hut style wardrobe for your belongings. Bedroom 2 En-Suite With a walk in shower cubical, wash basin and WC. Bedroom 3 This light and spacious room with roof terrace access features a wooden framed king bed with bedside tables and stylish lamps. There is a large chest of draws and built in cupboard with hanging rail for your belongings. French doors lead out onto the patio garden. Bedroom 3 En-Suite With large walk in shower cubical, wash basin, heated towel rail and WC. Patio Garden An absolutely incredible addition to the property, with the most stunning views across the village green. This space with wonderful tiled flooring and glass privacy surround is the perfect place for those morning coffees or evening glass of wine. Please note the roof terrace is only accessed via bedroom 3. Parking Sea Green Cottage boasts an off road parking space, however please note this is very small and only suitable for a golf size car. Please note the parking space for Sea Green Cottage is located to the right of the Cottage, the space to the left is a neighbours space. From 1st October to 30th March there is free on street parking, opposite the property. During the summer months a residents parking permit will be made available which allows free parking at Ferry Car Park, located around 200 metres away.

WALBERSWICK

Southwold 8 miles; Norwich 30 miles

A delightful coastal village set at the mouth of the River Blyth in the Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve. This place is perfect for a chilled break by the sea. It offers a small range of delightful shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés to choose from. The nearest town is Southwold just a short trip over the River Blyth, it offers a good selection of amenities as well as a museum and a light house. The city of Norwich is also accessible and is well worth a visit. Walberswick is one of the few places in the UK with very little light pollution.

Note: On-road parking, free from 1st October to 30th March, then a permit will be provided for Ferry Car Park, a short walk from the property, for the remainder of the year.
