“We really enjoyed our week in the old fisherman’s hut.”
The shower did drain slowly, but the plunger solves the problem and there isn’t a problem with the property drainage overall, probably just the gradient on the pipe which seems to create an airlock/slow flow. The corridor to the bedroom is cold at this time of year, as it is unheated and the doors to the decking are draughty, but with the doors of the bedroom and living room shut on either end, it was easy to keep both those rooms cosy with the heaters and log burner. We loved using the log burner to cosy up in the evening. The views from the hut are beautiful in all weathers and from all the rooms. Because the hut is raised up we didn’t feel overlooked by walkers on the path outside which we had wondered about. The kitchen had everything we needed including the things we brought because we didn’t think they would be there! There was no welcome pack, which was a bit of a disappointment, but not a necessity as we stopped for essentials on our arrival in Southwold. We have been visiting southwold for a week around Easter for over 20 years, and my husband rated this property his favourite for the views, peacefulness and privacy. I missed being in the heart of Southwold, but it was nice to be so close to Walberswick; I loved the views and the ambiance, which meant being happy to spend time indoors whilst still feeling you are in the landscape. We have already booked it for next year!
Thank you so much for your review, and apologies you didn't receive a welcome pack, you should always received a bottle of wine and some other bits so I am not sure why that was missed, I will talk to our cleaner about that. The shower tray was backing up but we have had that rectified now. We are really pleased that you enjoyed the location and the proximity to both Walberswick and Southwold. We look forward to welcoming you back. Thank you again for taking the time to write a review, it is much appreciated.
