“A beautiful and comfortable apartment 1 minute walk from Southwold High Street.”

Very well equipped and a very comfortable bed. Lots of lovely thoughtful local touches with the artwork, cushions, coasters etc. We had no problem finding parking within a 5 mins walk of the apartment, and that was during peak season of Latitude Festival, and summer holidays. Would have no hesitation to recommend this apartment to any couple visiting Southwold.

“This fantastic apartment that was set in a beautiful area of Southwold close to all amenities was comfortable, spotlessly clean, maintenance great, well equipped, light and airy, modern, comfortable bed.”

Extra touches that was very nice was two beers, crisps and 2 gin and tonics. Thank you. There are a few negatives We had no trouble with parking in March but may be in the height of the season you may struggle. The settee was a little uncomfortable as we are short and the cushions provided were not firm enough to support the void in our lower back. Lastly the stair case needed a good hoover. The overall experience was excellent and we would return. One of the best apartments we have stayed at.

“The apartment was beautiful .”

It had everything you could think of if not more. It was lovely and clean and the bed was so comfy. The nice accessories like the feather cushions and a basket for shopping made it feel really special, the gin, tonic and crisps was such a lovely touch. It is a stones throw from the main street with everything on your doorstep and of course the sea and the pier . Parking was great too, just parked over the road for our entire stay. Would highly recommend. Southwold is such a beautiful place and the Gallivant is a super place to stay. .

“We have stayed in many self catering properties and although it looked good on paper it wasn’t one of our favourite places.”

It was very stylish but on somethings lacked comfort. We are not worried about lots of cushions and a throw on the bed but like comfortable sofas and chairs. There was nowhere to store food apart from the fridge and when we bought one of the Magpies lovely loaves there wasn’t a bread bin or anywhere to put it. Overall the kitchen was well equipped apart from storage.

We usually just put our bread in the fridge or leave it on our breadboard face down so hadn't thought of that before. We also leave the cupboard by the fridge empty for storage but often visitors move things around so we can only think this must have happened with our previous guests to you and are so sorry. It is light, airy and very clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable (I provably the best lights’ sleep for some time) and the welcome gifts were much appreciated. I would definitely recommend it to friends and maybe I would hope that we can return sometime.

“A lovely flat in excellent location.”

Struggled to find parking in streets nearby as advertised so suggest people park at the Common which is within 5 minute walk. Entry door to block is heavy and slams if not closed carefully, so can be noisy if other tenants do take care. Kitchen is well equipped, flat is nicely furnished and bed very comfy. As shower is over the bath it is difficult to use if taller. Would book again if In Southwold

The property

The Gallivant is an absolutely luxurious, newly refurbished, pet friendly holiday apartment, positioned in the heart of Southwold, just moments from the bustling High Street and sandy beach. The property boasts a large open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room, sumptuous bedroom and bathroom. The property is the ultimate coastal escape for couples to enjoy. Ground floor A shared ground floor staircase has a straight set of stairs to a mid way landing with another straight set of stairs, which leads to the first floor door to the apartment. First Floor Once inside the front door, there's a hallway with access to doors to the bedroom, bathroom and open plan living room. The hallway features a handy basket for your shoes and hooks for your coats. KItchen/Living Room and Dining room A simply sumptuous room, with natural light, creating a calming space to relax. The kitchen boasts everything you need to cook up those tasty culinary delights. These include an integrated Neff appliances including a five-ring gas hob and electric oven, a tall fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, a combined washing machine/tumble dryer, freestanding microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso Coffee Machine. Enjoy those tasty meals up at the beautiful wooden table seating three. There is a deluxe two-seater sofa and arm chair, side tables and coffee table to enjoy. The smart TV with Sky offers an array of channels to sit and cosy up to. Bedroom A simply gorgeous space to unwind at the end of the day. The stunnings king size bed is just waiting to be enjoyed, with luxurious bedside lamps with those statement colours. There is ample storage provided in the built in wardrobes. Bathroom There is a bath with a hand held shower attachment, a hand basin, and a W.C. Outside It is usually possible to briefly stop outside the apartment to unload your car. We recommend parking at the end of the development on the side street (on road parking) or on Southwold Common where parking is free of charge.

About the location

SOUTHWOLD

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
