“Pier House is in a lovely position with beautiful views of Southwold; from the balcony you can see the sea and from the back you overlook the rooftops and countryside beyond.”

At first sight we were very pleased but while settling in we realised that actually the apartment was not as clean as we had thought- the kitchen sides were very greasy and the oven was very dirty. The mezzanine floor was particularly dusty and didn’t look freshly cleaned. I set to clean but then saw there was no cleaning equipment-which we found unusual in a holiday home. There was a tiny amount of washing up liquid but no dishcloths, no bin bags no sprays, no vacuum cleaner, no mop. There was only one tea towel. We were also surprised that there was no tea, coffee or milk at all- the wine and biscuits were a nice touch but in every other holiday home we have stayed there have been better facilities including games, books etc- we felt these would be a good addition to help make visitors’ stay more comfortable and enjoyable.
Despite these niggles we enjoyed our stay in Suffolk and would certainly return but sadly to different accommodation.
