“We had a fantastic week - the property was well equipped and the fans were extremely useful.”

The benefit of the parking space was an added bonus. The only thing we found with the property is the blinds in the bedrooms let in far too much light - causing us to wake up extremely early (before 5am) every morning. Yes they look nice but a simple blind for extra darkness would have been appreciated.

“Another lovely week in Southwold at Parrotfish Bay.”

Great location with parking outside the property. Had everything we needed for the week. Only small gripes were that the beds were a bit firm for us and a couple of bits have been slightly damaged (chipped plate and the blind mechanism in the second bedroom). The previous occupants weren't overly careful with cleaning some cooking utensils. Nothing that spoilt our holiday though! Would definitely return.

“This is a well situated flat and whilst this holiday let appears to have everything there was for us the problem of lack of shade and privacy in the open plan living room.”

Although a fan was provided this was not enough to make the room bearable on a really hot day. There are no blinds or curtains as there are in other surrounding flats and there are four enormous almost floor to ceiling windows .

“We found that the external lighting in the area was poor - however the owner could do nothing about that, however an external light that worked next to the external entrance door would be of great assistance with placing the external door key .”

We used a torch on subsequent nights. The bed was incredibly comfortable, however the settee was less so. Apart from that the apartment was exceptionally well appointed and the parking was excellent

Location too was just perfect. The roof top terrace was a delight and I really felt that the property made a perfect base for us to explore Southwold and the surrounding areas The only things that were irksome were: 1/ lack of information re green and yellow lighting gadget. Also the crew preparing the flat for our let should have noticed the gadget wasn't where it ought to be and left a note for us about it. When I phoned Sykes office the following day to say I'd not been able to.put on these lights someone described the gadget and I found it in the drawer. 2/ lack of information about how to use DVD player thru the TV. Altho in the event a local man was sent by Sykes and discovered some wiring had not been properly set up info would have been useful from the owner. I also think as part of the property prep for new lets this should be checked by Sykes. 3/ a guide for the microwave would have been useful. 4/ the key safe got stuck one time which did cause us panic - but a passing tourist man who knew the lettings came to assist and resolved the problem by a firm hitting of the box. He said sometimes the keys themselves can jam the mechanism

“Another excellent holiday in Parrotfish Bay.”

I docked a star from comfort because the bed in the main bedroom caused more aches and pains in our 70 year old bodies than usual and was more of a problem than we remember from our stay in Parrotfish Bay last year. But in all other respects Parrotfish Bay is excellent.

Think the bath could do with a splash screen, and en suite shower needs moveable height shower head , and parasol for outside table . Otherwise perfect Wi-fi code in book needs amending, and also code for bin cupboard .

“My only issue was the freezer which needed defrosting probably because visitors were not aware how firmly the door needed shutting firmly.”

It was our second stay in this property . We found it extremely clean and well equipped on both occasions. As soon as we walked through the door we felt very relaxed. We especially like the modern open plan design. The accommodation is well situated with fine views especially towards the church

Guests have their own parking adjacent to the apartment, from where then enter on the first floor, where the bedrooms are situated, one with en-suite shower room and a family bathroom. Upstairs is the amazing living/kitchen/dining space with views over Tibby's Green and access to the rather special terrace. Guests also have immediate access to the renowned Adnams cafe next just yards from the apartment - all in all this is Southwold living at its best. Ground Floor Parrotfish Bay is entered at ground level into a common area shared with one other duplex, the front door to the property is up the stairs on the first-floor level. First Floor Through the front door is a central hallway that connects to the bedrooms, family bathroom, and the stairs to the second floor. Bedroom One A spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and views of Tibby’s Green. There are matching bedside tables with lamps, a chest of drawers, and a built-in wardrobe. En-suite: Shower Room: A luxury shower room with a large shower unit including a chrome rain shower head, hand basin, and W.C. Bedroom Two This twin room has two full-size single beds with views over Tibby’s Green. There are matching bedside tables with lamps, a chest of drawers, and a wardrobe. About the location

SOUTHWOLD

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
