    “The property was in a wonderful location by the beach.”

    We had both houses, Kestrel and Osprey which was perfect for the size of out party. Both properties were lovely although there were a couple of things that could have been improved on: the bathroom downstairs did not have an anti slip mat or hand rail /grip rail to hold onto which was quite a hazard, especially travelling with elderly/disabled adults. Also the windows in the bathroom or bedrooms could not open. The oven was very slow to heat up. I have stayed in properties before where ...

Also the windows in the bathroom or bedrooms could not open. The oven was very slow to heat up. I have stayed in properties before where there has been foil, clingfilm, condiments like olive oil etc but this property did not have anything like that. I found the manuals in the boiler cupboard by mistake - there should be note to say that. All in all the property was great though.

    Thank you for your taking the time to send us your comments and we will be sure to provide a non slip mat in the showers in future. It is my understanding that Best of Suffolk did direct you to the location for the window key as all bathroom and bedrooms can be opened. The Welcome File does specify where the manuals are kept and it does also specify where the window key is located. While we do provide tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc we are a self catering appartment so unfortunately we do not provide cling film and foil. The property

You are welcomed into a shared entrance hall with the apartment above, Osprey. A door opens to the sitting room which features an open fire and large bay sash window. Beyond that there is a modern kitchen with double doors opening to the garden and a lobby leading to the double bedroom, twin bedroom and family bathroom. To the front of the property there is unrestricted on-road parking. To the rear there is a fully enclosed landscaped patio garden with sun terrace and garden store. Entrance Hall Shared with the apartment above, Osprey, this has slate flooring and a private door to Kestrel. Sitting Room Large bay sash window offering views over the front aspect and glimpses of the sea. There is an open fire, two 2 seater sofas, armchair, open fire, polished wood flooring, flat-screen TV with Netflix, and DVD player. Opening to the kitchen which features a range of wall and base units with granite work surfaces, stainless steel sink unit, Smeg 4 ring gas hob/oven, dishwasher, Bosch fridge/ freezer, washing machine and table, and 4 chairs. There are part glazed double doors opening to the rear landscaped patio garden. Bedroom One Sash window offering views over the rear garden. There is a king-sized double bed with side tables and lamps and a free-standing wardrobe with drawers below. Bedroom Two Window offering views over the side garden. Twin beds that can be made up as a super king with side table, and chest of drawers. Family Bathroom Timber fronted panel bath with overhead shower. W.C. Wall-mounted washbasin. Osprey A door opens to a private entrance with stairs leading to the first-floor hall. Directly ahead there is the master bedroom, family bathroom, and a bunk room. Two further stairs lead to the sitting room which opens to the kitchen. Stairs from the hall lead to the second floor which has a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a shower room. Ground Floor Shared with the ground floor apartment, Kestrel. This has a tiled floor with a door opening to a private entrance for Osprey with shoe and coat storage. Stairs lead to: Hall Two further steps lead up to the sitting room and a staircase leads to the first floor. First Floor Sitting Room Beautiful room with large sash bay window and window seat. There is a living flame gas fire with a large sofa and 2 armchairs, a dismantled drum kit to use as coffee tables and polished wood floors. There is a flat-screen Toshiba TV with Netflix and a Philips HiFi with iPod/iPhone connectivity. An archway opens to the kitchen featuring a contemporary kitchen units with granite work surfaces and integrated appliances including, Bosch Fridge/Freezer and washer, Smeg 4 ring gas hob/oven with overhead Hotpoint extractor hood and Neff Dishwasher. Against the wall there is a large table with benches either side and two chairs. Bedroom One There is a super king bed which can be configured to be made up as a twin upon request. Side table and lamps either side and a fitted double wardrobe cupboard. Family Bathroom Roll top Victorian style bath, shower cubicle with overhead shower, W.C, washbasin standing on a marble surface, and a heated towel rail. Second Floor Landing There is a useful storage cupboard and wooden flooring. Bedroom Two There is a king size bed with side table and lamps either side, built-in wardrobe cupboard, chest of drawers, and wooden floorboards. Bedroom Three This room has twin beds with a dismantled drum kit as a side table and lamps. There is also a built-in wardrobe cupboard, chest of drawers, and wooden floorboards. Bedroom Four Bunk room with side lamp, available upon request. Shower Room Walk-in shower cubicle with overhead shower, W.C, pedestal wash basin, and wooden floorboards. Outside At the front of the property is unrestricted on-road parking. From Kestrel, beautifully courtyard garden with a fully paved sun terrace with a table and 4 chairs. At the foot of the garden, there is a useful garden store suitable for bicycles and beach equipment. A gate opens to a shared pathway that provides access to the end of Chester Road.

About the location

SOUTHWOLD

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
