Dolphin Cottage, Southwold

Lovely little house superbly located close to the sea front.

Bearing in mind the location the back garden was a lovely space too, remarkably quiet and peaceful, apart from the seagulls of course!

The property was Lovely.

We were made to feel Welcome. My Show Yorkshire Terrier Loved it there. It so Safe. Would Love to speak to Katie on the phone. I sweeped patio everyday. And Deadhead Rose's. Seagulls made pads outside dirty so cleaned them. Thankso much for our Holiday and would love to return next June. Lynda John Lucy Lou. xxx

Beautiful cottage in the centre of town with easy access to beach and local pubs and shops.

Garden was sheltered and lovely to relax in. We would definitely book to stay here again

Absolutely wonderful cottage,lovely welcome gifts, superbly equipped , great king size bed ,lovely to have a bath , beautiful little garden , perfect sun trap and great for our dog !

Gorgeous cottage, great location.

Very comfortable bed but the stairs are extremely steep to bedrooms. Everything you need for a weekend away is at the cottage. Would definitely book again. So close to the Little Fish and Chip Shop and the Lord Nelson.

A lovely cottage ideally situated which would suit couples or small families.

Dolphin Cottage was wonderful.

It was well equipped for all we needed, including a dog bowl and some much-appreciated basics like salt and vinegar for our chips! The welcome basket was a thoughtful touch. The enclosed garden was great for our dogs, and even though it is in a central location, it was really peaceful. We have already booked to go back, so that is the best recommendation I can give.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well equipped and comfortable cottage.

Given its central location it was surprisingly quiet at night and we slept very well in the comfortable main bedroom. Our dog enjoyed the rear garden and I even managed to spread my yoga mat out in the bright and airy dining area. Only slight niggle was a toilet roll shortage towards the end of the week, although otherwise well equipped and stocked. We will hopefully be back in the future and would definitely book this cottage again!

We both love staying at Dolphin cottage,and this was our third stay at this property.

Our comment on the supplied mugs: great but too large,and to that end I found a perfect smaller pair which we left behind! We had a largely good week this time; the only snag being the breakdown of the refrigerator,although that was sorted by it’s replacement fairly quickly. The replacent was adequate. It was good to use the garden at the rear when the sun shone for us,although it might have been a bit tidier!

This is our second visit to Dolphin cottage and hopefully not our last!

It was winter last time so great to experience a sunny summer week using the lovely courtyard garden table for breakfast and bench seating and BBQ in the evening. The cottage was perfectly prepared and the generous welcome basket was much enjoyed. Lots of little touches like dog biscuits, nice soaps, bbq coals etc made us feel welcome and were much appreciated. Thank you.

Great property right in the middle of the town.

Very well appointed with everything you need. Lovely little sun trap garden. We loved our stay and would recommend the cottage.

Staircase was a bit of a challenge.

Not suitable for young children or the elderley

All as described, everything was there that was needed for a comfortable holiday (except eggcups and a small milk jug) very clean, comfortable bed/duvet.

Parking could be a problem some days but you can unload outside. Very good position in town and close to beach. Weather was perfect, had a lovely time. Thank you Dawn & Rod

We had the most lovely break — a truly magical time filled with special memories.

We stayed with our two little boys- one of whom is autistic so it has been challenging the last few years for everyone. We couldn’t have asked for more. The cottage was spotless, well-equipped, and perfectly located. We absolutely loved it there, and so did our children. We’re truly grateful to the owners for being so accommodating. It was a special time in a wonderful place, making unforgettable memories by the sea. We would love to return one day. Thank you so much

Warm and welcoming little cottage.

Beautifully set out with everything we needed and more. Welcome pack too ! Ideal location, everything within easy walking distance shops, pubs, fish and chips and beach. It is a real home from home and would have no hesitation booking again. Good outdoor space which is secure, our dogs loved it. Perfect!

A lovely place to spend a week or two in!

We have stayed regularly at the property and love it, however the garden was almost unusable this time as the pampus grass had grown so big we didn't use the garden at all.

Plus the weeds. This is a real shame and its letting the property down for the premium fee paid in the summer months.

Found the stairs challenging but however that's the quirkiness of the cottage Rest of the Cottage Superb Great location

Property had all the things you could wish for for a great stay. Very narrow stairs which anyone with mobility issues should be aware of.

The house is brilliantly located with the beach, pubs and restaurants so close by. The house is very homely and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and some self- catering. We are keen to return. Our only issue was the limited space in the main bedroom given it is small size with a king size bed. We felt that room was dusty due to my sneezing in that room - the limited space around the bed may make it hard for the cleaners to hoover underneath (which looked like it hadn’t seen a hoover for a while). Otherwise perfect stay

Great little cottage and well equipped.

A few things I would like to mention; no hand soap in the property, downstairs bathroom, kitchen or upstairs bathroom which I would expect. There was neals yard hand lotion. And the upstairs bathroom blind is not good for any privacy as it is see-through and a little dirty at the bottom; a solid blind would be preferable and allow complete privacy and make you feel less vulnerable! The under lighting in the kitchen didn’t work over the cooker and patio door end and completely went off on occasions. So maybe a loose connection somewhere? The front window blind runner came off twice and we fixed and the big left blind at the back is tricky to pull open and I worry this cord will break. The front door knob/handle needs tightening up. If these improvements could be done as we would like to stay again possibly next year. Hope this is helpful.

Lovely, well equipped and maintained cottage in a good location within the town.

Garden area also attractive and would like to return and enjoy that too, at a warmer time of year.

Lovely cottage and location.

Perfect for a short stay. The cottage felt very homely and the kitchen was well equipped. Others had left behind washing up liquid and soap in the bathrooms, but we took our own anyway. The only issue was with parking, we had to park half a mile away and getting everything to the cottage was hard work and when we went out of Southwold finding a space when we got back took time. Southwold beach is beautiful and the sunrise was worth the early start!

Lovely layout of the cottage, well thought out, lots of character.

Great fold out doors onto the sunny courtyard garden. Situated right in the centre of town, straight out of the door and a stone's throw away from the beach. Only 30 minutes parking outside, but enough to load/unload and then free parking for the week was not far away. Dog loved it too!

Another wonderful week at Dolphin.

The cottage has had some great updates in the kitchen and bathroom which gave it a fresh feel. The garden was lovely - it’s the first time we have been in the summer and hadn’t realised the garden got sun all day. We loved the fact there were bird feeders and food provided - it was lovely to top them up each day then sit and watch the birds. The kitchen is really well equipped and comes with a generous supply of cleaning products as well as a lovely welcoming bottle of wine and cookies! A great cottage in a wonderful location.

Lovely cottage had a great week Very petty I know but having spent £1000 on rental you provide 1 toilet roll for the week !

Dolphin Cottage was well maintained, very clean, and in a great location 60yds from beach, 40 yds from pub.

It had everything we required and a bit more. The only criticism was the bunk beds were very hard and really unsuitable for an adult. However would definitely recommend

Nice welcoming pack, generously equipped and carefully furnished.

Would have liked a guide to help with how things worked but we are resourceful (eg wi-fi password found on back of router). Position of bins is a bit of a nightmare. Fortunately, I have a reputation for being incredibly skinny. Thanks to the accommodation we had a fantastic reunion with our children and grandchildren, who also rented houses in the area.

Enjoyed are short stay.

But the shower head in the ground floor bathroom is leaking along with the kitchen tap.

Well equipped property, very clean and tidy.

We did have a minor issue with the dishwasher on the last evening, as the quick wash didn’t seem to run the programme.

I can't say how fab this place is.

I always absolutely love my stay here, a complete reset! Highly recommend a dip in the sea.
