High Ground, Reydon

High Ground is a comfy base for exploring the area.

Really peaceful with a lovely big garden. All amenities catered for. Garden could do with some TLC but overall a lovely place to spend a holiday.

We had a very pleasant stay (2nd time).

Nice big house and good location for travelling around Suffolk and Norfolk.

A lovely place to stay within walking distance of Southwold.

The house is set in its own grounds, so ideal if you have a dog. We spent Christmas there and we had everything we needed to make it comfortable and cosy. Would like to return in a warmer season to explore more of the area. Owner was very helpful with any queries we had.

A lovely, comfortable property.

Surrounded by a beautiful garden with multiple seating areas. Nice and peaceful and only a 15 min walk from Southwold. A couple of really well stocked local shops within 5 min walk.

Such a lovely cottage - great location (20 mins walk into southwold), very well maintained, stocked with everything you need, and nice touches like a bottle of wine and some biscuits on arrival.

We were lucky it was available over Latitude weekend and it couldn’t have been more perfect for our needs.

We LOVED 'High Ground'.

Such a beautiful house with a calm welcoming 'energy'. We felt the garden needed a few more hours from the gardener. A lot of dead leaves accumulated in places and weeds overwhelming the flower beds. The greengauge tree was full of fruit - I would have loved to tidy the garden but the family wouldn't let me . I swept up the paths a bit but it really needs and deserves some TLC. It did not spoil our enjoyment of this lovely family holiday house and we had the Best of times together here.

We enjoyed our holiday.

The property was in a great location and had everything we needed. The wrap around garden provided lots of areas to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The garden did need some attention in areas ( loose brickwork by the car park area need removing or repairing) garden generally needs tidying. Having said that the property and garden provide an excellent holiday location. Would definitely return.

We would recommend this property although a couple of things could do with looking into.

We liked the location in relation to places along the Suffolk coast and the wrap around garden was lovely. The dog loved the garden, and we kept an eye on her as she's escaped other dog proof gardens previously. No issues this time. There were 4 of us, 2 of which were elderly so I'd missed that the bathrooms were on the ground floor. Facilities were very good with everything you could want. Some of the garden furniture needed repairing and the cushions could have done with a wash. Comfortable living room and great instructions for the heating which came in handy. The kitchen was well kitted out. I did put a few bits through the dishwasher where things hadn't been washed up properly. Suggestion for housekeeping to do a check on utensils, glass wear, egg cups, pots and cutlery. Shower heads over bath and in shower could do with a bit of limescale remover. I live in a hard water area and it is a constant pain keeping on top of it. Bed linen was lovely and comfortable. Single beds were comfortable. The double bed mattress could do with a topper or changing. My partner never complains but he didn't sleep for the first 3 nights due to it sinking and forcing him to the edge of the mattress. My side was fine although I don't sleep well anywhere at present due to a bad back. I ended up buying a cheap airbed because it was better for my back. He then got some sleep on the side I'd slept on. Other people may have found it comfortable. When we arrived the outdoor bins were overflowing but a quick call to the owner and he resolved it straight away. Overall, not a bad stay and would recommend.

We had a lovely time at High Ground.

The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. A late change of plan meant we had to request permission to bring a small dog and this was granted speedily. We will recommend this property to friends and family unreservedly.

Our second visit to High Ground which says everything.

The only thing I would change with this property which would involve a little expenditure is to put a toilet upstairs.

Very well equipped, warm and comfortable.

Ideally would prefer an upstairs loo/bathroom but not a major problem. Nicely decorated for Christmas and gift of wine and biscuits much appreciated. Good location for Southwold and surrounding areas. We didn't use the outside garden area which would be great for the summer.

A great property situated in a quiet location and just a short walk from the delights of Southwold.

The off street parking is at the rear of the property and easily accessed. It has a spacious dog friendly garden. It has a well equipped kitchen but If the owner is restocking the kitchen we would have found a second larger frying pan, a medium saucepan, a greater variety of cooking knives and a knife sharpener useful. We would recommend this property and hope to return.

We loved staying at High Ground Cottage.

It is very spacious with a large secure garden and private parking. It is a good location for easy access for walking to Southwold and Walberswick and driving to other interesting places such as Dunwich, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings. The only slight downside is there is no upstairs toilet. Although it wasn't an issue for us it is advertised as having a wood burning stove but doesn't have one. Overall we had a lovely time and would certainly go back again.

A lovely property-very home like.

We felt relaxed and at ease immediately and enjoyed our family holiday.

In summary a fantastic cottage in a great location.

The cottage had everything needed for a holiday and we all enjoyed the gardeb especially playing hide and seek. We love Southwold and the surrounding areas, so enjoyed the locality of the cittage to Southwold with a short 1 mile walk into town and the pier. Some other great walks or bike rides to Walbersiwck via local paths. Crabbing was brilliant on the harbour. All Adnams pubs are great with freindly staff. We also visited Becckes for the skate park and outside pool (Lido). If you want proper coffee a 30min drive to Etude Coffee at Th Silo, NR35 2RU, to get your beans is a must! (this coming from a speciliaty coffee roaster Distinguished Roasts Ltd).

We had a wonderful stay.

We will definitely be back. The house was perfect, Just needed a flush in cistern on main bathroom loo, as you had to pump the handle multiple times to allow water flow in toilet pan, hubby a plumber and said would only cost £15 in plumbing parts, he didn't have any tools with him otherwise he would have done it!) Other than that, amazing. Lovely well equipped kitchen, we made pulled pork cooked in Adnams cider in the slow cooker when we came back from the beach! We loved everything about it. Thank you Ps. You can publish my comments, just take out the bit about the loo as that's not a problem or complaint, just a bit of DIY!

Fabulous house!

!! So well equipped with everything you need. Clean and homely. Fab weather was a bonus . Beds comfortable , bath fab!!! Gardens beautiful. Welcome wine and biscuits. We were all ages , all girls and granny too . Would definitely return .

The house is a lovely place that has a well equipped kitchen.

Sadly the garden is not fully enclosed so our dog couldn't enjoy the space unless she was on a lead. The enclosed garden was the main reason I booked the property. We appreciate that it is a dog friendly house but the lounge did smell strongly of dogs and even more so when it was warm. We contacted Sykes whilst we were away to inform them about the garden and another matter via their WhatsApp messaging service but got an automated response directing us to another way of contact them which doesn't seem to exist.

We had an absolutely lovely week here.

The house is spacious, cozy, had secure parking and provided everything we needed. The gardens are vast - more so than we’d anticipated; our dog was in her element the entire time! Overall a perfect place to spend time in and to return to each evening. Some small attention to general maintenance / cleaning was needed, but giving that we were staying at the end of the holiday season that wasn’t really a surprise to us. A big thank you to the owners for a wonderful experience and for the generous treats on arrival. We’d gladly stay again.

Lovely house.

We spent 4 days here. The property has a lovely feel to it. Situated in a beautiful part of Suffolk. Beach & local shops within walking distance too. Perfect.

The kitchen needs a deep clean as the cupboard doors and handles are all sticky and tacky to touch.

The garden is lovely and dog safe however the grass needs cutting and there is a broken paving slab near the BBQ. We had to clean the BBQ before we used it as it was dirty. We cleaned it after we used it ready for the next visitor. Otherwise, a lovely quirky cottage with very comfortable beds, lovely towels and decor.

Just a few points please.

On arrival when tired and lugging a heavy case I really did nearly trip over the broken decking to the side of the property when gaining entry, not a good start. I would definitely get it fixed before someone sues you. Also the BBQ and fire pit had been used and not cleaned by a previous user, not a problem for me as we did not use it, but someone else would complain.

Cottage was lovely and we would go again.

Only criticism is that in some places attention to detail with dusting and cobwebs should have been better.

A lovely property in a quiet peaceful area, comfortable and well equipped.

A very welcome box of wine awaiting us on arrival and clear instructions about the property facilities. A super spot to visit attractions in the area. Our first visit to Suffolk, and will not be our last. Thank you

A real home from home.

High Ground has everything you could need and is perfectly located for a day out in Southwold. Looking to book again in the summer as a great base. Local pub (Five Bells) served a lovely meal and staff and locals made us very welcome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at High Ground.

The accommodation is very comfortable indeed and we were able to relax completely, which was great. It proved to be ideal for our needs and location wise it was perfect.

Had the best weekend here at High Ground, such a beautiful cottage.

Good distance to Southwold and very relaxing. Kids had the best time playing in the garden and exploring the house. Has everything you need for a perfect stay. Thank you for having us. P.S. The paving out the front is amazing :)
