    “Black Sheep Cottage is a quirky, ancient building - sympathetically restored and elegantly furnished, with everything we needed for a relaxing break.”

    We felt very at home in its warm and comfortable interior. There is a little, private courtyard for sitting out on sunny mornings or balmy evenings and The surrounding gardens are lovely, too. It’s a good place from which to explore the Suffolk coast. A good pint can be had at the White Horse in Sibton, and the village shop/post office is just along the road. We definitely intend to return!

White-washed walls complement the wooden beams and exposed brickwork, inspiring guests to head into the tasteful sitting area and warm their feet beside the woodburning stove; a delightful feature settled into an exposed brick fireplace. When mealtimes call, head over to a pretty kitchen/diner with a homely, countryside feel, boasting a whole host of amenities, as well as wooden beams and a characterful atmosphere. Here guests can cook up a storm, before enjoying their meal at the dining table, or outside in the rear garden with patio area. Saxmundham is a small market town located on the River Fromus, in the heart of Suffolk’s Heritage Coast. The town is well serviced with a Waitrose, Tesco, independent shops, local museum, and a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market and a farmers’ market. Situated so close to the coast, Saxmundham is a great base for a seaside holiday; within easy reach of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness, as well as Dunwich, Southwold and Walberswick, you could enjoy a different coastal location each day. Also close by is the inland market town Framlingham with beautiful historic architecture, a castle and an array of independent shops.
