    “The house was clean and tidy on arrival, all beds made up.”

    Towels for all. Comfortable sofas and dining area. Beds also comfortable. Great walk in shower, but the shower itself was very weak, guess the water pressure is low due to the under sink softener. Disappointing to find no folder of useful and local information, as is usual with any rental we have stayed in previously - we had no idea of bin day, as an example - no info re local area, parking, Doctor, Dentist, best places to shop or eat. No radio on site. Kitchen had no cupboards for day to ...

No radio on site. Kitchen had no cupboards for day to day food storage, not everyone eats out every meal, some of us actually cook when we're away! The kitchen was pretty well equipped otherwise. Communication with Sykes was only via WhatsApp prior to and during the booking, with really very poor response times for an actual agent to respond, as opposed to the bot. The one time I tried calling, I waited 40 minutes for an answer. Orford itself and Suffolk made up for the issues above - not our first time here, nor our last.

It is only 11 miles from the beach at Aldeburgh, with the wonderful market towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge just a short drive away. Ground Floor Kitchen/Dining Room Cook up a storm in this well equipped modern kitchen, which includes a double oven with four ring ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. Those culinary delights can be enjoyed at the six seater wooden dining table. Sitting Room The ample windows allow an abundance of light to fill this space. Sit back and relax on either of the comfortable sofas and enjoy the Smart TV, castle views or the roaring open fire. The owners have provided ample board games for guests to enjoy. Cloakroom Including a toilet and wash basin. First Floor Carpeted stairs lead up to the first floor landing area. Bedroom 1 Over-looking the village square, this room features a double bed with bedside tables and lamps. There is a chest of drawers and built in cupboard for your belongings. Bedroom 2 With beautiful castle views, this room offers a double bed with bedside tables and lamps. There is storage provided for your belongings. Bedroom 3 Suitable for an adult or child, with a full size single bed with bedside table and lamp. There is a chest of drawers for your belongings. Shower Room Featuring a large walk in shower, wash basin and WC. Outside 1 Market Hill benefits from a front garden with a bistro table and chairs, a perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by on the pretty market square. Within easy reach is The Pump Street Bakery, Orford General Store, Three fantastic pubs and Pinney's smokehouse and restaurant. There is a parking space to the rear of the property outside of 1 Market Hills garage. Additional cars can be parked on near by roads.

The attractive, unspoiled fishing village of Orford is situated on the bank of the River Alde and looked over by its magnificent 12th century castle built by Henry II. The village is home to a hotel and restaurant, two pubs, village store, bakers and wonderful fish restaurant and smokehouse. Orford is surrounded by farm land and forest in an area known as the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Centrally located, just 12 miles from Woodbridge to the south and Aldeburgh to the north, and just 5 miles from the famous Snape Maltings complex. The village of Orford is steeped in history. Henry II commissioned a castle to be built in the 12th century which is a must see when you visit the area. Owned and maintained by English Heritage you can enjoy this wonderful 'keep' and from the top there are breathtaking views for miles on a clear day.
