    “We were long term caravaners and initially thought dog friendly hotels were the way to go, not so.”

    This was our first cottage and we were very very impressed. The Piglets was clean, spacious and a real pleasure to stay in. All the equipment and utensils were first class. A great location for visiting local places of interest and a country setting, what's not to like. Our dog Toby enjoyed the enclosed garden and the nearby walks so he had a nice time too. Our host Kim was friendly made us feel at home without being intrusive so our stay was very pleasant. We have no hesitation in recommending ...

The property

The Piglets is a gorgeous newly renovated single storey, family friendly barn located in the village of Newbourne. The perfect place for families to escape to the Suffolk countryside. Its ideal location near the River Deben is good for exploring Suffolk's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and for activities like bird watching, walking and sailing. Close by are the towns of Ipswich and Woodbridge with their lovely shops and restaurants, and Sutton Hoo, the awe-inspiring ancient royal burial ground of the Anglo-Saxons. The Piglets offer a spacious open plan living/kitchen/dining area, as well as two bedrooms, both with en-suites. The private garden allows you to catch the evening sun, with a large patio area complete with a seating and BBQ area, as well as the fantastic addition of a log fired hot tub. A complimentary travel cot and high chair is available on request. Open plan Living/Kitchen/Dining area Kitchen A kitchen of dreams, positioned perfectly with views across the garden. The beautiful kitchen is well equipped with every mod-con you could need to cook up some tasty treats, including an electric oven with four ring hob, fridge-freezer, integrated dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also a breakfast bar with stools, a perfect spot to start the day with a cup of coffee. Lounge A place to sit back and relax as a family. There are two luxurious two-seater sofas and antique coffee table centred around the wall mounted 75'' Smart TV. On those chilly nights why not pour a glass of wine, grab a good book and sit and enjoy the sound of the fire roaring within the stunning wood-burning stove. Dining Area A large dining table with two bench seats is positioned within easy reach of the kitchen. Bedroom 1 With garden views, this light and spacious room features a luxurious king size bed with bedside tables and stylish lamps. There is a chest of drawers and a hanging rail for your belongings. En-suite Bathroom A beautiful modern bathroom awaits, featuring a bath with over-head shower, wash basin and WC. Bedroom 2 Perfect for both adults and children to enjoy. This room as two full-size single beds, with bedside table and lamp in between. There is a chest of drawers and a hanging rail for your belongings. En-suite Shower Room With a walk in shower cubical, wash basin and WC. Outside The most perfect spot to catch the evening sun in the private garden. This beautiful outdoor space features a large patio area with seating and BBQ (Charcoal), perfect for dining alfresco. The Piglets has the wonderful addition of a log fired hot tub. It is emptied and cleaned between each guest stay it so will need to be heated by yourselves on arrival. A basket of logs are included. Further logs can be purchased at the property or at local shops. It takes 2-3 hrs to heat but retains the heat well overnight when outside temperate isn’t too low. A private driveway leads you to private parking for two cars. Local Area The Piglets is located in Newbourne, a wonderful part of Suffolk. There are beautiful walks around the Newbourne springs, as well as neighbouring villages including Hemley and the River Deben. The property is just 1.5 miles from Waldringfield River, 3.5 miles from the market town of Woodbridge, and 6 miles (15 minute drive) from Felixstowe. The property is also just 1 mile from the nearest supermarket and a nice stroll to the local award winning village pub The Fox. The local café in Newbourne is called Newbourne kitchen. Twisted Oaks Bike Park is just across the field and takes 5/10 mins to bike. Their outside canopies have been warmed up for the cooler months & you are welcome to bring along a blanket to make your visit extra cosy!

Woodbridge is a historic riverside market town boasting an outstanding selection of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. The town has been famous for boatbuilding, rope and sail making since the Middle Ages. The working tide mill is a major attraction and a must visit for anyone staying in the area. The River Deben runs alongside the town and is popular for boating, walking and wildlife with wonderful views over to the National Trust site of Sutton Hoo. The town hosts a number of events throughout the year and is a wonderful place to visit.

Note: Guests are responsible for taking care and warming up the hot tub, the hot tub can take 2-3 hours to warm up depending on air temperature, but retains the heat well overnight when outside temperature isn’t too low. A basket of logs are included. Further logs can be purchased at the property or at local shops.
