Tower End Cottage

Had a lovely autumn break at ‘Tower End Cottage’.

This cottage has everything you could ever want and more. The cosy surroundings really make you feel at home and relaxed. The faux log burner works a treat and the outside private courtyard is special, feels like the Mediterranean. Easy access to Woodbridge where you will find many places to eat and drink although you could do worse than the Coach & Horses pub which is just down the road. We enjoyed a fish & chips lunch there. One final regret, I didn’t have time to get a crack at the ‘Where’s Bowie in Berlin?’ Jigsaw. Maybe next time.

Lovely cottage, well equipped and very comfortable.

Located in a small village with a range of good local pubs.

My husband and I have stayed in well over 50 UK holiday cottages and Tower End Cottage is right up with the best for comfort, style and facilities.

Also the easy access to nearby Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo and the excellent butchers shop and greengrocers in Melton were particularly welcome. The Suffolk coastal paths only a few miles from the cottage are well worth exploring, including several wildlife and RSPB sanctuaries. The archaeological finds of Sutton Hoo have inspired the wonderful replica of the 7th Century Longboat now nearing completion in Woodbridge Harbour: well worth a visit. Nearby is the site of the fascinating and unique Tide Mill dating back to the 12th Century and still operating. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tower End Cottage and fully intend to revisit the cottage and this lovely part of Suffolk again soon.

Beautifully decorated property.

It is comfortable and homely. We would definitely stay there again. It is well placed for exploring Suffolk. We enjoyed the courtyard garden, treating it as an outside room. Having two bathrooms was very useful. All that and a wonderfully generous welcome pack!

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage.

Lovely welcoming with fresh flowers, strawberries, cream and wine. The cottage is in a good position for exploring. Very pleasant walk to woodbridge along the river. Good local pubs and chip shop.

This is our 2nd visit to this lovely cottage and we loved it.

Richard, Jan and Tommy are welcoming and we loved the strawberries and cream with a lovely glass of fizz! Great location for exploring surrounding areas, lovely short walk to the local pub and a lovely walk along the River into Woodbridge.

The cottage was perfect for visiting family in Woodbridge.

It was spacious and comfortable with everything there that you needed being very quiet and peaceful. The outside area is ideal and safe for a dog and al fresco dining which we did as the weather was fabulous. It is an easy riverside walk into Woodbridge and good pubs closeby. All in all a very good find for a holiday and we will return.

What a lovely place to stay the cottage was excellent a comfortable, clean and had everything we needed and more.

Location is great with the Coach and Horses just a short walk down the road, lovely food and staff. Lovely welcome pack, lovely outdoor seating area, looking forward to the sunshine in June so we can utilise this. Comfortable bed, although new pillows would be great. Thank you.

We had a very comfortable stay in Tower End Cottage.

It was just perfect for us as a couple. We had secure parking on the drive. Everything we needed in terms of kitchen equipment. As there are so many eateries around Woodbridge /Melton, we hardly cooked anything. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of storage for clothes. Quite luxurious really with the gorgeous vintage bath in the en suite and a telly in the bedroom. Downstairs shower was excellent. It was just 25 minutes walk along the river to Woodbridge to enjoy a drink or two. There is a shop and excellent fish and chip shop around the corner. It was a great base to visit family and friends. The courtyard is beautiful and great for enjoying the sun. Very friendly owners.

The cottage is great and was ideal for us and our dog. You are very close (walking distance) to local shops and pubs, and the owners let you get on with it. For us, the highlight was our dog (Poppy) bonding with the owner's and them wanting to play whenever they saw each other. Poppy is sorry she killed Tommy's squeaky ball, and hopes that he received the replacements that were ordered?

We absolutely loved our stay in Tower cottage.

It was so well equipped, very clean, perfect patio garden, impressed having 2 bathrooms with loads of fresh towels plus handwash soaps. Owners had provided a lovely welcome pack for us on arrival. Location is ideal for the many places of interest in the area, fish & chip shop, 2 local pubs and shop within easy walk from cottage.Woodbridge we loved and can be walked there beside the river Deben. Would certainly recommend cottage to friends and family.

A wonderfully cosy and attractive cottage in a perfect location within easy reach of many lovely and interesting places to visit.

Handy for shops, pubs etc. The hosts supplied a useful supply of basic household requirements as well as some generous treats, and there was a comprehensive guide to the accommodation and surrounding area. Would definitely try to book again if we return to the area.

Tower End Cottage is a really lovely cottage to stay at.

It is well furnished, spotlessly clean and well presented. We had a great week there and hope to return again. Great base for walking and birdwatching.

The owner was great in giving us tips about where to eat, walk and buy some great produce at the butchers/deli. The cottage is very well equipped and spotlessly clean, we had a great time and would highly recommend.

After travelling around the UK and Europe for the last four months we were so grateful to have stayed at Tower End Cottage for our last major stay in the UK.

We were thrilled to not only experience a comfortable, cosy, well appointed, well located, homely accommodation with all of the most modern conveniences and extra features but we were also greeted with a generous welcome pack and message from the owners. Thank you for the most lovely stay.

Nobody would be disappointed here ,we have stayed in many over the past 10 years & this I have to say if you want quality & excellence & comfortable living then this is 100% it.

We had a really lovely stay at Tower End Cottage, it was everything we hoped it would be and much more.

The Prosecco,chocolates and the fresh blackberries and cream that were left for us were a welcome treat and very much appreciated. The cottage is close to a really good fish and chip shop and the nearby Coach and Horses pub serves excellent food.The cottage is also close to Woodbridge it took us about 30 minutes to walk to the town centre (we don't walk very fast).We would liked to have rented the cottage in the summer to make full use of the lovely little courtyard.If you book this charming cottage you will not be disappointed.

The cottage was delightful it had everything we needed for our stay.

It was easy to find and had lots of parking. Everything was well laid out and the information folder was very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit the area.

Beautiful cottage and garden. Excellent on site parking. Good location for days out. Nice walks from the cottage too. Only negative, outdoor drying would have been better. Not able to tumble dry a lot of our clothes. The pulley clothes line in utility area not very effective as we didn't have any heating on. All in all though, very good.

We loved our time at Tower End Cottage.

We found it spotless, very well-equipped and cosy. We were comfortable and rate it as very high-end indeed. We would have loved to have used the pretty garden area but, unfortunately, it was too chilly. The goodies provided were much appreciated too. We also enjoyed meeting owner Richard along with Tommy the dog.

A gem of a cottage.

This is a lovely little cottage with a beautiful courtyard & great parking. The welcome gifts were a lovely surprise. It is so well presented & spotlessly clean. It was great to have handwash at every sink & full size bath towels! It is in a great setting in lovely countryside. Nearby Woodbridge has everything you need, also local shops & pub in Melton. The station is a short walk giving car free access to the wider area. Would definitely visit again.

Tower End Cottage exceeded my expectations.

It was clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable, the bath was glorious and the welcoming touches of fresh flowers and treats along with a hand written note made it extra special. Location was great, very easy to walk into Woodbridge and the train station is very close. I would love to return to Tower End Cottage

Had an excellent time and would definitely come again.

Only small disappointment was the lack of a sofa to cuddle up on watching the TV (understandable when physically viewing the layout of the cottage), and the dining table is very small (this could be improved). Otherwise it is a lovely lovely cottage and ideal for a mid-week or weekend break. Thank you xx

A gem of a holiday cottage, beautifully created and most comfortable.

The large, secure parking area was great both for the car and our little dog! The welcome goodies were much appreciated. The location is ideal for exploring the area, with many excellent eating venues close by as well as local shops. Thanks to the owners for such a lovely centre for our much needed break.

Very comfortable, secluded cottage and lovely courtyard space.

Very well situated for trips to local places of interest. It was nice to have the excellent downstairs shower in addition to the lovely ensuite. We were grateful for the extra touches (bathroom toiletries, fresh flowers, prosecco, chocolates and crisps!). Perfect location for a relaxing break.

Pretty much the perfect property immaculately presented small shop 50yds chip shop 50yards (very nice) pub 10 mins walk town 5minutes drive dog walks in all directions I'm pretty sure were going to become regular !

Enjoyable stay.

Well equipped kitchen for two people. Biggest drawback is noise doors which - being sliding doors don't close very well. If one person gets up early and the other wishes to sleep then there are no sound barriers (proper doors) to prevent noise. Other than that - good car parking, TV ok, fridge is very small - no freezer to speak of.

A very comfortable cottage.

We may well be back. It was a pity the downstairs toilet seat was broken so we were unable to use it but we understand it was due to be repaired. One pillow was missing a pillowcase. We would like to have had some hanging space in the bedroom. We had evening clothes with us as we were going on to something and did not want to hang them in a steamy bathroom. Otherwise we could not fault the cottage.

Fantastic property.

Comfortable, clean, with quality furniture, appliances & wonderful bedding. Loved the courtyard garden and 2 bathrooms were a real bonus! also so happy with off road parking, keeping the car safe with easy access. Big 5 out of 5.

One of the best holiday cottages we’ve stayed in.

We have already recommended it to friends. The location in melton was so handy for many special Suffolk sites, inc Sutton Hoo, the Deben river frontage at Woodbridge and super walks. Jan and Richard had thought of every home comfort including a super “outdoor” terrace room. Lovely welcome treats too, even for our dog. All in all a super holiday in a first class comfy cottage.

Ideal cottage for 2.

Masterly conversion from coach house .Well off the road from traffic looked forward to Our first break since lockdown and a few months off chemo c noise. iWe appreciated the homely feel and beautiful flowers and thoughtful touches, which are many. Just a few niggles for housekeeping. Side plate missing and chipped dish and dinner plate. Not sure which chopping board for meat

Tower End has a real wow factor on entrance that doesn’t stop as you take in all the areas within.

The private beautifully dressed outdoor patio area is stunning. We enjoyed the spacious yet cosines of the cottage as a couple with our big fluffy lurcher, Fozzie. We had enough space for his dog bed and found the entrance area so helpful for his towel rub down and paw cleans. The driveway is secure for allowing dogs to wander (if they don’t jump gates) and we parked our car in the ample space at the front of the cottage. The shower room and bathroom are luxury: super soft towels, toiletries and no need forgotten are a highlight of how much the owners want your stay to be pleasurable. They have equipped the kitchen with ample utensils for cooking and a choice of coffee machine/cafetière was a bonus. The bedroom has a hanging rail in the bathroom with ample drawers and cupboards for clothes. Sumptuously dressed bed with mattress topper and lovely choice of lighting; lamps and natural light. We would not hesitate to recommend or return to Tower End. It’s a true gem and located well for much exploration. Local hospitality is superb. We felt very welcome and found the community so friendly.

This cottage was beautifully thought out and fitted with good quality fittings and fixtures.

The bed was very comfortable. The heating and the separate fire made for a very cosy winter break. The welcome goodies were much appreciated. The cottage is in a good location for touring the area. There are good restaurants within easy reach by car and The Coach & Horses is an easy ten minute stroll. The information pack was excellent.

Beautiful place to stay and we felt very welcome in the village.

Hopefully will be back in the summer. The only downside was that there was no grass area for the dog but we were out every day.

I booked last minute for my husbands birthday and so glad we came here. The perfect place to visit all that Suffolk has to offer. We adore Suffolk and will definitely be rebooking this little gem. We tried to think if anything wasn't right and we couldn't, you have thought of everything. Our stay has been extremely wonderful.

This cottage has been perfect, very comfortable, warm and has everything you need. We love Suffolk and have enjoyed revisiting many places such as Southwold, Aldeburgh etc. Enjoyed fresh mussels from the fish stall in Woodbridge. Lovely meals from local pubs with friendly staff and great food. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the garden. Thank you for the 'welcome' goodies.

Lovely cottage very well equipped and all of our needs provided for. Thank you for the goodies and flowers which were a nice touch. All of us really enjoyed our stay here at your super little cottage.
