“We did not have an enjoyable stay at First Light as there were many niggling issues around cleanliness and maintenance that both Sykes and the owner would not accept, instead trying to blame us.”
These included: strong damp smell in front room, hair left in sink, 2 bathroom locks not working, hole in pillowcase, vacuum full of dirt, cobwebs, pair of dirty socks left in bedroom….. After many emails, the solution offered was to send round the housekeeper- who then said all was fine - so nothing else was done to resolve the issues. We have stayed in a lot of holiday properties and only ever complained once before, so are not unreasonable or extra fussy.
