Barn Owl Cottage

We had no personal recommendation to book this cottage but booked it with reference to the reviews left by previous vacationers, (many saying they'd be back) and the star rating.

In reality, the locality and (especially) the lake and beautiful multi-coloured bulbs everywhere, and an evidently well-managed site, exceeded our expectations. We invited guests on each of our three-full-days' stay, and all were similarly impressed. We hope to be back!

We thought Barn Owl one of the best cottages we have ever been to.

We will hopefully get a chance to go back there in the future. Being on one floor was particularly good for me as stairs are very difficult these days. It was warm, cosy and well equipped with a lovely garden and lake to admire. The weather was good too which always makes a difference to a holiday especially in November in the UK.

Spacious and comfortable cottage.

Good location and would certainly stay there again.

Third visit to Barn Owl, love the peaceful setting and the cosy dwelling.

Already booked for next year. Love it

Lovely location, property is spacious and comfortable.

However, a lot of the panes in the french doors are opaque and the bathroom needs cleaning. But, we enjoyed our stay!

The property was excellent, a real gem of a place and the grounds around it with the lake, ducks, trees, flowers and even the activities for children could not have been better.

Also it was very well situated to visit the many places of interest in the area. We were very impressed with our stay at Barn Owl cottage.

This comfortable little cottage is set in the most beautiful grounds with a pond full of ducks and a swan and an idyllic short walk around the pond and into a meadow.

Beautiful peaceful rural setting, close to Woodbridge and Sutton Ho, I would thoroughly recommend it.

Great stay

What a super Christmas we’ve had in the barn owl cottage!

Cosy & comfortable & spotlessly clean, this lovely place has absolutely everything you could possibly need. The owners left us lots of Christmas goodies too, including treats for our dog. We’ve stayed in all the cottages except horse shoe now, and the same very high standards are throughout the properties. Can’t wait to see you next Christmas too! Thank you so much

Our 6th visit to Barn Owl, we love the situation and will return again.

We did leave a note that at times the fridge was very noisy and very cold. The ice box needed defrosting as it was full of ice, nothing major. Previously there had been more ovenproof dishes for those wishing to self cater, was a bit lacking this time.! Not withstanding..we shall be back.

Lovely cottage, in a lovely rural area a short drive to Aldeburgh, orford.

Saxmundham, Framlingham. Very clean well kept cottage, great facility's laundry room and games room. The cottage was lovely like a home from home very well equpt kitchen and a few essentials like milk and bread, biscuits for us and the dogs had some too, which was a lovely touch and the handwritten welcome slip the owners have thought of everything. A lovely shower and really comfy beds. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay for the weekend, so peaceful and beautiful views. Thank you and we will definitely be back by far one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in and with lovely owners, thank you again.

A really lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.

The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.

As you know, ' the pump' is noisy.

Not sure what it's doing - but seems essential. Running in the middle of the day is indeed the best time, as most guests are out. Personally, I found the gardener's radio much more irritating. Not loud - but nonetheless booming away in intrusive fashion. Otherwise, a real gem. Well thought out and equipped.

Thank you so much for providing such lovely accommodation in a very peaceful and tranquil setting.

. the property and facilities were far better than we expected, the location was spot on for the area’s we planned to visit.. we’d love to return soon.

Very nice cottage, you obviously put a lot of thought into the construction, and I believe you thought of everything.

Very pleased!

Thé cottage was perfect.

The views from the cottage with the duck pond and beautifully maintained gardens were also perfect. The amenities were also very good especially with the outside seating. We were very happy here until the pump started and the noise was so so loud and went on for hours and hours til late evening. The first time sadly we were looking forward to coming home for a bit of peace and quiet.

An excellent well equipped cottage in beautiful quiet surroundings.

Very dog friendly

Very comfortable with good facilities.

We were well looked after helpful staff

This is our 2nd visit and will definitely be back again.

We had such a lovely weekend and the cottage was perfect.

Second visit and already planning next one.

Lovely peaceful environment, superbly appointed cottage, clean and well thought out. Particularly appreciated the welcome pack and the voucher for the lovely farm shop. 10/10 x

The cottage was lovely.

I stayed with my two dogs. The only thing that spoilt it was our British weather. Beds comfortable, amenities as described. Couldn’t fault the place. Would definitely recommend

Lovely cottage and garden.

Would recommend to friends . No negative comments.

A really lovely cottage, so quiet and peaceful in a beautiful setting.

Loved staying here, it was just how I imagined it to be and the perfect Christmas getaway.

The villages and towns nearby were beautiful, lots of places to visit. The local pubs were festive and cosy, the food home cooked and staff were very welcoming. The perfect location! I loved it so much, I've booked to come back this Christmas. Can't wait!

Had a lovely short break at Barn Owl Cottage.

A lovely little place to stay, very comfortable.Heating was on when we arrived. We will definitely be going back.

Spacious, clean and comfortable.

A lovely setting. Peaceful. Ample parking and easy access. Suitable for those with walking difficulties.

Our 4th visit.

Will be booking for next September in Barn-owl cottage .

Lovely cottage very comfortable beautiful place really enjoyed our stay.

Would definitely recommend.

We had a fabulous week in Barn Owl, very clean, comfortable and well loved!

Larger than expected with beautiful grounds. Excellent local farm shop so no catering problems! Will definitely return. Just so peaceful.

Excellent cottage very clean and well maintained set in a beautiful garden with large pond /lake ,plenty of sun loungers, good parking .

Local pub with excellent food at a reasonable price .this complex of cottages is ideal for families with a children play area also.

Excellent property, everything you need and so peaceful and relaxing.

Visit Friday Street Farm shop they sell excellent quality produce .The asparagus is gorgeous.

First impressions were what a tranquil setting stepping inside we found a very clean comfortable cottage well appointed a welcome pack just perfect,we met the cottage manager the day and made us feel very welcome during our stay a small problem with the shower one text to Lyndsey the shower was fixed by our return would highly recommend anyone wanting a stay in this part of Suffolk

Very nice location and accommodation

We loved Barn Owl cottage.

The location was very pretty and very peaceful. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the welcome gifts of bread, milk and biscuits. The cottage is very well placed for many places such as Sutton Hoo, Framlingham Castle and Africa Alive as well as the beautiful coast. We would love to visit again.

This was really a lovely place to stay, there was a large pond in the grounds with seating round it.

If it was raining there were indoor games to play. For the little ones there was a playground and sit on toys. Would definitely go back.

Lovely little cottage, clean, comfortable & ideal location.

Lovely cottage and beautiful location with the pool area, which was well maintained, adding to a sense of serenity.

The member of staff we met was very friendly and helpful she is an asset to the enterprise. The location was ideal for visiting places such as Flatford Mill, Sutton Hoo, Alborough, Helmingham hall and Framlingham on a market day. An evening wall to Blaxhall is ideal.

This proved to be my ideal holiday cottage with spacious, practical single-level accommodation for one man and his dog.

The setting was splendid, even better than the photos suggested. Useful information on the property and area was available in the property, plus a money-off voucher for the superb local farm shop. The owner called round to socially introduce herself and ask if everything was OK. It was. I would definitely like to stay there again if the property is available as it is a lovely location to visit several places of note in Suffolk, with some fine country walks on the doorstep.

The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable.

We loved the nice touches - Milk, bread and delicious cookies there on our arrival.

Lovely flat.

Beautiful setting. Very comfortable and enjoyable for a relaxed break.

A quality peaceful week was had , went so quick , only one tiny complaint noisy ducks (joke ) we will return at some point

A welcoming cottage in beautiful surroundings.

We loved waking up to the sound of ducks. An excellent base for exploring the surrounding area.

The cottage was just right for 2 people and a dog, warm and comfortable.

Peaceful location.

It’s a lovely place to stay the owners are very helpful if you have any issues, would recommend this location

Alovely cottage with all the amenities perfectly situated to explore the Suffolk coast

For me the tripping tap needs fixing and some of the chipped crockery needs replacing Love the welcome pack nice touch Parking was so easy excellent not far to carry suitcases.

Dogs were able to walk around the lake and up the road. Ideal Nice quiet area The advert needs to say Ore Cottages’s and not Sink Farm. Cottage very very comfortable and the guide to the cottage was very helpful Thoughtful touch

Barn Owl Cottage was lovely clean and warm.

We received a lovely friendly welcome, on arrival, plus a welcome pack. The grounds with a pond, swans, ducks, and marsh meadows, with cut walk ways, was excellent. But we would say do take your water boots, for the walks in the meadows. The Lion, the local Pub has very good meals, and is Dog friendly. We had a very relaxing stay, and would certainly stay there again. Marg Barry and our dog Dixie

Lovely rural retreat, not far from coastal attractions.

Good food at local pub. Games room convenient for pool and table tennis. Going again.

Our third visit here, beautiful location, very tranquil and relaxing.

Highly recommended and will definitely return again soon.

lovely cottage in idyllic peaceful setting

A very peaceful and comfortable cottage in a lovely area.

Both your website and ore valley cottages website show a bath not just a shower with a curtain.

Very disappointed. Cottage good apart from above. Well kept and well kept gardens.

Problems with the heating not resolved until the day we left (1day early due to work), kettle which dribbled boiling water which was replaced with one which died so 2 days without a servicable one.

When bed is made into double access is poor. I don't particulalry like the area but my wife does so we will be back later in the year. Very windy so I manged to get 3-1000piece jigsaws done in a week. Having lived in suffolk most of my life I rarely visited the East Coast as it has an air of faded gentility and hasn't yet arrived in the 20th century let alone the 21st. Shingle 'beaches' are not to my or my dog's taste, nor is the 10 mile drive to the coast from the awful A12.

Lovely location surrounded by wildlife.

Very relaxing.

wONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY!

wELCOME, SETTING, ACCOMODATION. STARS AND NO LOUD MUZAK INSHOPS AND PETROL STATIONS AND EVERYWHERE ASWE HAVE IN HAMPSHIRE. BLISS

Our first experience with Sykes Exceeded what we hoped for.

Cottage and surrounding gardens lovely, a truly great holiday

Had a lovely time at the cottage with our dog.

Very comfortable with plenty of room and all you need on hand. Loved walking around the pond and enjoying the countryside. Was well positioned to explore the local area. Hoping to return as we were so relaxed and happy there and see more of what is on offer in this pretty part of Suffolk.

little things no tea cloth no dishcloth, had to go and ask for them then only one tea cloth to last a week, wifi was said to be poor actually non existant , but overall a good cottage in a very nice setting

Peaceful Plenty of storage for four day stay.

Grocery much appreciated. I would have liked to have thanked the people personally ,ie face to face

The cottage was very welcoming, warm and comfortable.

All facilities were there, but we noticed a lot of pet hairs on the living room floor and on both rugs. The WiFi, which is becoming essential, was very poor. The password given in the cottage manual did not work for a connection. The welcome pack was a very nice gesture and greatly appreciated. One thing the really stood out for us was the lack of any sort of greeting from the owners, there was a contact number given but that does not mean as much as a face to face with our hosts. we left our comments in the visitor book but for our "complaints" we left a separate note.

lovely cottage very clean and comfortable

Great location, very tranquil and relaxing.

The cottage was extremely comfortable, very clean and well equipped with everything you need, with views over the splendid lawns and lake. The owners had left us milk, bread and biscuits which was very kind of them. The grounds were superb and well kept and our dog, Annie, thoroughly enjoyed the holiday as well being able to run free around the grounds and in the meadow. Very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The people that owned the cottage were friendly and very informative about the local area and suggested places of the normal tourist routes to visit.

We had a dog with us and we were surprised to find how welcome we were made to feel (that includes the dog) when we went out to eat.

Just love this cottage, which is why we came back to it this year.

The facilities provided are excellent, it is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have had.
