Jacko's Barn

The barn was great.

Clean and well equipped for a very comfortable stay. The beds were very comfortable and it was a nice touch having the dog cover for the settee so she could sit with us. The only complaint was it could have had a larger teapot!

Well appointed barn friendly owners living next door Traffic noise could be a problem for very light sleepers other than that lovely place to stay

We was greeted by Jacko (Ian) on arrival and he noticed I had a fishing rod with me.

He said after we unpacked let him know and he would show me the river he has in his back garden. He loved our dog and gave her fuss. Already a winner in my eyes haha Ian and his wife are lovely people and very kind and helpful. He let me have access through his land (just shut any gate you open) to go fishing at the river. The barn was fantastic and we all loved it. My wife was in love with it. A very rustic feel and we love that. Our dog loved the freedom of the garden and all the new sniffles. I would definitely recommend Jackos barn. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back.

The kitchen had everything we needed and the extra treats were very welcoming. Had a warm welcome from Ian but unfortunately, because we had to leave a day early did not get the chance to explain why and thank him for a great stay. If you read this Ian, we did knock but you must have been out

A very warm welcome into the accommodation that was very clean.

The bed and soft furnishings are very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The extra treats were a nice surprise. Beccles is a lovely place to visit as is Shape and Southwold. I would highly recommended this holiday let.

We couldn’t have had a more comfortable stay!

The barn was spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything you could ask for! The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and the extras of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were much appreciated. Towels for the dog were a lovely touch and they even supply a cover for the couch, if your dog likes to cuddle up! The bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in and plenty of clothes storage. Ian/Jacko was there when we arrived - a lovely man! Just sorry we didn’t get to meet their puppy! Next time! All in all, I’d highly recommend this lovely property!

Comfortable clean and well equipped Barn in lovely countryside, within easy reach of Suffolk and Norfolk coasts.

Lovely, quiet location, good parking, had expected outdoor seating area to be a bit more private, had to buy our own pizza tray and oven tray as there were none available.

Have a suggestion that the bedrooms be equipped with better blackout curtains, as the vertical blinds had no effect in blocking the light coming into the room at 5am, also under floor heating only in kitchen and dining area with the bathroom heated rail not working and mobile electric heaters in the bedrooms (no UFH or Central heating in thee rooms) hence no where to dry bath towls. Felt the property was a bit dated, but comfortable for the price. Thanks

Jacko's Barn was fine, with everything you would need for a short holiday.

As to Sykes, couldn't have been more useless. From a simple request by the owner as to whether beds to be a double or two singles, Sykes conspired to make answering this an impossible task. They don't answer the phone. Why do we need to load an App to give a simple answer. Why can we not just reply to the message directly. Why is Sykes chatbot so useless and constantly not providing any answer but seeking to close the conversation. Bloody useless and, having booked many holidays via Sykes over the last twenty or so years, will be looking elsewhere from now on.

Firstly, the sign needs attention.

It is not clear at all. It needs to be bigger, illuminated and clear; OR at least Meadow View mentioned as an indication of where it is. The barn was adequate and allowed us to explore parts of Suffolk and Norfolk. Just needs redecorating, cleaning of the cobwebs; bit of updating with some TLC. The design of the steps from kitchen to living room is a bit dangerous. Kitchen table doesn't fit the room. The bathroom needs to be updated, with a proper shower and screen and the bath is too high. Didn't realise it was an annex and so you do feel a bit overlooked, resulting in the enclosed shingle area not actually feeling like it's a garden. And the ROAD. Understand this cannot be helped, however for a B road, it is one extremely fast moving, noisy road. You need to cross the road to get into Homersfield, where it is beautiful and quiet as there is no where immediate, to walk the dog. If you walk to the end of the lane, you have the grass verges along the main road and from here you cross over into Homersfield, Even though we were out all day, you still need somewhere to walk the dog, first thing in the morning and at night. Maybe would have been better if there had been a grass area, rather than a shingle courtyard. Saying all that, the barn provided shelter and warmth, the cost was reasonable for a week and we had beautiful weather which helped no end.

A great find,the accommodation was excellent, everything was in really good order,a bonus was that the heating came on automatically,was great to come back to a lovely warm and cosy home.

Very enjoyable stay in Jackos Barn.

The overall facilities were very good - the only change that we would have wished was for a walk-in shower rather than the more common over-bath version, but that is more a reflection of our age (80 yrs)! We appreciated having a secure area for our 2 giant breed Leonbergers. The owners were friendly and available without being in any way intrusive.

It was a nice place.

We enjoyed our stay there. On the first morning, I reported that the heated towel rail wasn't working, the owners son visited to rectify the problem. He left saying it needed a new part. This was not fixed all the time we were there. Not a great outcome.

Very clean and well appointed place, a little bit difficult to find the entrance, but overall 10 out of 10.

Jackos Barn is extremely comfortable.

...the bed and lounge furniture in particular. Laura and Ian are on hand and attentive without being intrusive. The surrounding area is well worth visiting...coastal walks and country pubs in abundance. We had a great week!

A lovely barn conversion, spotlessly clean with all the essentials you need for the week.

Found the oven a little bit difficult to navigate. Nice secure area for our 4 legged friend to roam in. A good location to investigate the surrounding area. Enjoyed our week at Jackos's barn.

The only one small thing-better signage at the end of narrow track.

Needs to be lifted up and facing oncoming traffic both ways. Had to ask for directions at the garden centre as we’d missed the entrance. I went to the farm next door and she mention “thousand of others” call there asking for directions. But a wonderful few days in a beautiful cottage. Thank you. We’re booking again for December.,

A nice relaxing break was had by all in great surroundings and some great places to visit just a short distance away.

A very enjoyable stay with everything needed provided.

Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen. The hot water is very hot and can be difficult to get the right temperature for a shower and particularly if there are young children it could be dangerous. Otherwise perfect!

The cottage is very nice and well located but has some issues.

Both the bedrooms face east and at 04-30 am in the summer both are very bright as the blinds keep out no light. So eye masks are a must. The bathroom, on the other hand, is very dark with inadequate lighting. There was a mirror light but it did not work. The kitchen was good but crockery limited. However we did enjoy our stay in Suffolk/ Norfolk based there for 4 nights

Lovely, spacious and comfortable.

We had a little trouble finding it. But everything that you could possibly need was provided. Jack met us on arrival. The Black Swan pub short walk away provides good food in countryside surroundings.

We had a lovely stay at Jacko’s Barn, comfortable and cosy and with everything you would need for a stay off the beaten track.

Situated a few hundred yards from a road network that would take you anywhere you wish to go in Suffolk and Norfolk, but very little traffic noise. The owners were at hand, should you need to know anything, but not intrusive, both very nice people. Nothing in the two weeks we were there would deter me from visiting again.

A very nice stay at the barn though I fotgot to mention to the owner that the bathroom towel rail did not work and no switch visible.

Luckily it did not matter as the week was warm and dry and was able to hang out the towels to dry after showering.

Wonderful relaxing stay.

Ideal for dogs. Fully enclosed garden space with fields available. Appreciated the dog covers and towels. Ian was very welcoming and the property was well maintained with the normal kitchen equipment you would require. Will definitely recommend it to friends.

Another lovely visit to Jacko’s Barn.

This is our 3rd stay and we will return. The barn is spotless, comfortable and well equipped. It’s in a peaceful location, but not far from all the amenities. Ian the owner is a lovely man and is there if you need anything, but not intrusive. Our dogs loved the totally secure garden, and Ian let us walk them in his field which was great!

Lovely well maintained property, very clean and super comfortable.

The owners have thought of everything, and the extras such as the welcome pack of milk tea coffee and biscuits and even a dog basket with towels, how very thoughtful. The location is great and peaceful. There are some Lovely walks in the village, through the church woods is just one, but short drives to nearby villages you will find many splendid scenic walks. There are also some Lovely pubs should you fancy a drink or a meal. Thoroughly enjoyed our days there and will definitely return.

On arrival we were met & warmly welcomed by the owner Ian.

He made it clear that if there was anything we needed or wanted to ask we were to simply knock on his door. The barn is very spacious and has a fabulous enclosed garden, great for our dog. Ian had left milk, tea, various different coffees & biscuits. There was also plenty of cleaning products to use throughout the stay. The wi-fi was very good. Ian had also provided a large basket of towels that he had marked out for dog use, a brilliant touch. Although the local pub is within easy walking distance it’s across a very busy main road with no footpath, not difficult but takes some care. The barn is well equipped but there was a few tiny things that could be changed/upgraded and this is just probably from a woman’s point of view. The bath mat, shower mat, sink drainer & washing up bowl are a bit tired and perhaps could be replaced. Although in no way dirty, the lounge carpet & sofas could do with a deep clean. The beds were very comfortable but I’d suggest investing in some good quality pillows/pillow protector covers. These would absolutely not stop us from staying at Jackos Barn again but the smallest of things can make a difference. Ian was a fantastic host, so jolly, helpful and super chatty and friendly. Great bloke.

Jacko’s Barn is everything you want in a holiday home.

It’s spotlessly clean on arrival, very well equipped, warm and comfortable. Excellent for dogs with enclosed area and even towels provided for them. The owners are kind and helpful. This was our second visit and hopefully not our last.

Absolutely fabulous place, the welcome pack was well thought out, little extras very much appreciated - the most dog friendly place we have stayed at.

Doggy items - their own doggy towels, covers for chairs etc. Felt much like home. Owners very approachable, friendly and always on hand if you needed something. Walking distance to local pub with good selection of beers and excellent choice on menu. Local town - very traditional, lovely butchers, small coffee shops well worth a visit.

Had a great week property was fine for us and the dogs when we arrived the owner came out to meet us and said if we wanted anything to give him a call or knock on the door milk,tea,coffee and biscuits all in the barn many thanks.

Was a little unsure of what to expect as this was our first experience of this type of holiday, but were put at ease by a warm welcome to the property by the owner.

They had kindly supplied milk, tea, coffee and very nice biscuits. Jacko's Barn is a lovely place to stay and is within easy reach of Norwich, The Broads and coast etc. Would definitely stay here again and also recommend to others.

The property is very clean and modern and has everything you would need.

It is also very well situated for exploring both Norfolk and Suffolk. We had a relaxing comfortable stay and the only slight downside was that it was quite cold in the living room on the first night, even with the gas fire on.

We had a really relaxing week, and Ian the owner was very friendly and helpful.

The welcome pack was a nice surprise - weve never been anywhere where everything was provided (eg cleaning items toilet roll kitchen roll etc) Very clean and homely. The weather was lovely and it was a nice walk to the pub in the evenings. We visited Southwold and Dunwich. Ian and Laura had left information pack on places to visit. Would we come back YES

The owner was lovely on arrival, we couldn’t feel anything but welcome however, sadly, we found the place very grubby.

For the lovely location and property, it was disappointing that the level of cleanliness was so poor. I would provide example images, but there is no option to. We appreciate the property is pet friendly, but that doesn’t excuse the property not being thoroughly cleaned after every family vacates. We received an email which suggested we must leave the property in a clean state once we vacate. Once receiving the email, we hoped the property was spotless in readiness for our stay. It makes it difficult to clean when the cleaning appliances and essentials to do this weren’t in good working order or clean, nor were the cleaning products provided quality to properly clean after use. We feel it’s beneficial that the owners are made aware of this, so they can act on our feedback following our experience.

It was immaculate with a cosy sitting room and spacious kitchen. The beds were so comfortable. Add all that to a large courtyard for the dogs to mooch around in plus a friendly, helpful host and it was pretty much perfect for us. Thank you.x

A lovely cottage in a peaceful area of countryside right on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

A beautiful village with a lovely, dog-friendly pub, 7 minutes walk away. Centrally placed for visiting many other areas within an hour's drive, would thoroughly recommend Jacko's Barn.

Property is outstanding, everything was provided for a self catering week.

Only 1 observation: The lane leading up to the property had a few pot holes and as I have a low car, I was very aware to go extremely slow over them.

The only draw back is the signage it really does need to b improved when u are driving u just don’t see it .

But everything else is what is being advertised is true , it was a lovely stay and would recommend it

This is our second time at Jacko’s Barn and we had a lovely restful stay.

The barn is cosy and welcoming and a great place to relax. It is well placed to visit a lot of different area’s, our 2 dogs loved Dunwich beach and forest. We had good meals at local pubs, and Harleston has a good selection of takeaways if you don’t want to cook! We will definitely be booking again.

We had a lovely stay at Jacko’s Barn.

The property was spotless and very well equipped, there were all the essentials you need. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar and lovely biscuits but also washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc all the things that you tend to forget. The Barn is well situated to visit lots of places, we liked the area and will definitely be booking again! It was excellent for our two dogs and the garden was a good size and fully enclosed.

The Barn provided a warm, cosy atmosphere.

I would say that it wouldn't be able to accommodate more than 6x people. Kitchen was modern and well equipped. Oven although modern, can be a bit tricky to use! Small lounge area with a TV. Suite is worn but comfortable. Bedrooms are presented well and have ample lighting and basic. Courtyard has pebbles, a seating area & drying facility. It's not bad for dogs to mooch around in. The Owners have land and will allow a paddock to be used for exercising dogs! Bear in mind that the area outside of the property, on the main road, there are no street lights and only pavements intermittently! ( I couldn't walk my dog at night and the road is quite busy, day and night)! You would need a car/bus to access tourist attractions. Also to access shops and petrol garages. There is a cafe etc.,that you can walk to from the Barn. The Owners were friendly and approachable.

We had a lovely midweek stop at Jacko’s barn.

The place is so cosy, comfortable & clean and from the moment we parked up we felt very welcome (even though our little furry friend was a little excited & noisy!). The location is ideal to explore the surrounding Suffolk/Norfolk border and a short trip to the beaches of Lowestoft, Yarmouth & Southwold. Thanks for a relaxing short stay, we’ll definitely look to book again soon!

This was at least our fourth visit to Jackos barn just as good we find it so handy to visit all the parts of Suffolk we love.

Fantastic cottage in a good location.

Cottage had everything you need for a short stay, friendly pub within easy walking distance. Only 2 slight negatives, the signpost at the end of the drive could of been clearer, (we drove past it twice!!), and the village has no shop (despite Sykes website saying it had one). Would definitely recommend.

Our accommodation was very good, clean, warm and well equipt, we found Jacko's Barn an ideal location for travel in any direction, Ian and Laura were very helpful and provided a lovely welcome pack on our arrival, their are lots of places to visit and things to do in Norfolk & Suffolk, we found that a week is not long enough, we would like to go back to Jacko's Barn in the not to distant future.

Comfortable cottage with everything we needed.

All in good working order except for kettle which was replaced by Ian the next day, also TV remote wasn’t working properly so we only had limited use of TV. Very dog friendly with cover for sofa and nice enclosed gravel courtyard. Beds comfy and nice bedding and towels etc. We asked for the singles to be made into king as the other bed said double, but it looked like the ‘double’ was a king size anyway Good location, lots of places in easy reach. The barn needs better signposting off the main road and the track to it is beginning to need some attention. Shower had great water flow but was fixed way too high on wall, needed an adjustable height for the shower head. I had to hold the shower head for a decent shower. Dishwasher, washing machine, oven, fridge, microwave all in good condition and working order. Lighting in bathroom needs looking at as not bright enough for shaving etc, there is a light up mirror but was so dim you could hardly tell it was on. Hairdryer provided but no sockets near mirrors, just needs an extension cable leaving in bedrooms. Overall we enjoyed our stay, Ian was very friendly when we needed him. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a lovely relaxing week at Jackos barn, our westie was like a different dog and she was so much more relaxed not having anything to bark at!

The owner Ian was a lovely man (we didn't see Laura) he was happy to stop for a chat when we saw him but left us alone to enjoy our holiday, the Black Swan pub, which is dog friendly and the landlord came out and gave our dog some treats, they had some lovely ales to sample (I recommend the Wherry Ale) , was only a few mins walk away across the main road which is a B road and not to busy, there is another pet friendly pub in worwell (down the road next to the garden/cafe bistro) there is a nice walk you can go down to stretch your legs and the dogs, ask Daniel in the pub and he will tell you which way to go for a stroll (there is a circuit you can do that leads you straight back to the car and it isn't too long) after you have had a drink and in my case a chocolate fudge cake with custard, well it had to be done as it was my birthday . The barn itself was lovely and comfy and had everything we needed including a basketful of towels for our dog. Lovely and quiet (the hum of the traffic didn't bother us or our dog at all and you couldn't hear it once inside) . We got a morrisons delivery to the barn twice on our stay and they found us easily. The use of the owners paddocks was a bonus. The underfloor heating in the barn was lovely and our dog liked to lay on it. There was a welcome pack of biscuits and milk and sachets of kenco coffee (the coffee jar was also full of nescafe sachets) and cappuccinos and the tea jar was full and the sugar bowl to so we had a nice cuppa and a biscuit while we unpacked and waited for the shopping to be delivered. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a nice quiet and relaxing holiday but with a main road close by to explore the local area. Regarding finding the barn itself if you come in from A143 and then turn into the B1062 then you go about 30 secs along that road(maybe a bit less) then over the little white fenced bridge and it's the first turning on the left, literally - 5secs , there is a black sign that says Laurian Barn (that is the owners barn) and a sign in white for Dove Barn (you can see this sign much more clearly) go down the single dirt track and you will then see the sign for Jackos Barn. Happy holidays everyone you won't be disappointed I can assure you.

The barn was comfortable and had everything we needed. There was a nice enclosed outside space which was great for the dogs and there’s a nice pub nearby for drinks and food. The barn is great for exploring the delights of Suffolk and Norfolk and we had a few days out exploring the local area. Ian, the owner, was engaging, welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking another stay very soon

Everything we needed was provided and Ian was on hand to welcome us and let us know that we could knock on his door for any help - in our case to demonstrate how to get the gas fire going! While we have yet to return to the same Sykes cottage a second time (only because we like to try different places) we would have no hesitation in returning to Jacko's barn - it was great!

Lovely place to stay.

Absolutely perfect as always, such a nice place to get away to.

It's out of the way enough for some peace and quiet, but not too out of the way that you're stuck in the middle of nowhere. There's plenty to see and do within a 30 minute drive. This is the third time we've been here and we're planning on coming back many more times.

On arrival the owner introduced himself, friendly .

. and would be there to help if needed. Beds were comfortable, maybe would be good to have a black out curtain you could pull across if you wanted to.? Had alittle trouble gettin the cooker to work, but no great problem. The barns in a great location, had use of the owners field, which was appreciated. Alittle road noise, but again, not a great problem. We had our dogs wiv us and there were plenty of great places to take them that were not too much of a distance away. Lowestoft beach was great. The Black Swan pub, which was very near by was an additional bonus .. we had a lovely little break at Jackos barn ..would definitely stay there again..Thankyou.!

Jackos Barn is a lovely place to stay - roomy yet cosy too, comfy, a lovely spacious yard for the pooch to run around plus huge fields that we could use too.

The barn is ideally situated for exploring the local area, with the benefit of a local pub doing lovely food and another pub in the next village with a very varied menu. We definitely want to come again.

A lovely comfortable place to stay. The beds are especially comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you’d need and the outside space is safe for dogs. My compliments to the cleaner .. it was spotless.

The house and facilities are all you need for a relaxing stay, Ian and Laura make you feel welcome on arrival and are available to speak to if you need them other wise you never see them. There is a field to walk the Labrador when needed. Easy access to the coast and surrounding towns.We will consider another break there in the near future.

Set in a very quiet and peaceful location Ideal base for exploring this part of Suffolk/Norfolk. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed courtyard and use of the horse paddock courtesy of the owner.

Had everything we needed including an enclosed courtyard for our dog. TV even had Netflix which you don’t get very often in holiday lets. Quiet location but easy access to nearby villages and the coast. Not walking distance to shops but only a couple of miles drive. Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

A very handy welcome back, well equipped kitchen and lots of handy kitchen "things", dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc. availsable to use. Nice dinning table / area, comfy lounge, and two nice bedrooms, large number of towels. We didn't have the warmest week of weather and it was lovely coming back to the underfloor heating that made the cottage nice and cosy. Very friendly hosts and we were told to knock if we needed anything, not required so left alone. Nice traditional pub 10 minutes walk away, seemed popular for food with an extensive menu although we didn't eat there. The Dove, 20 minutes walk, is well worth a visit, excellent food, but best to book as it can get busy.

Our holiday was amazing x the barn was the best we have stayed in beautifuly decorated and spotlessly clean and Ian the host was lovely x so close to all places to visit would thoroughly recommend it

The owner, Ian, met us on arrival at Jackos Barn and could not have been more hospitable and helpful.

On entering the property we found it warm, clean and with every amenity you could wish for, more than in many holiday cottages we have stayed in over the years.. The “welcome pack” was most welcome. We have a large Newfoundland and the enclosed courtyard/patio is ideal for any size of dog. Ian showed us areas of his paddocks where we could walk with our dog by the river. I would certainly recommend Jackos Barn and hope to return in the future.

Very dog friendly, with a fully enclosed large courtyard area.

The owners also allowed us to walk the dogs in their paddocks. A lovely, beautifully restored barn conversion, so very comfortable.

Place was perfect, owner friendly on hand but left us to our own devices.

Could not have been any better. Accommodation just as stated, ideally situated to get out and about. Can’t wait to stay again.

The accommodation was quiet and a great deal of thought had been given to provide things you would need.

The milk and cookies were also well received! My two dogs loved it and the best part of the holiday for them was exploring the two paddocks next to the barn. Doggy heaven.

Very friendly owners who could not do enough for you and extremely dog friendly. About four miles to Bungay with a good range of shops and restaurants. Park next to golf course, have a long walk then cross bridge to short walk to town. Pub at Homersfield has lovely and friendly pub about five minute walk. Visited covehithe, Southwold and Dunwich.

Well located for visiting places of interest in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Barn was well equipped and comfortable. Access to paddock for dog was a bonus and owner Ian was very friendly

We had a lovely socially distant greeting by lan, the owner, on our arrival and made to feel very welcome.

A yummy packet of chocolate cookies were left for us, along with a very informative Welcome Pack and a box of flyers of things to do and places to go. Jacko’s barn was clean and comfortable, we felt very relaxed from start to finish on our mini break. Visited some lovely local places and found 2 dog friendly pubs. Would be more than happy to return, we loved it!

As a suggestion,tell folks the sign for the turn off to accommodation is only a few hundred yards off the A143,we spent about half an hour looking for it as impression was given it was further along the road.

it was a great place to stay for a short break with our dogs there were some nice touches for the dogs towels etc and Jacko was so helpful very clean and comfy and a friendly pub 5 mins away closest shop about 5 mins by car we would highly recommend it.

Very comfortable and well equipped.

Heating was really good as we had some very cold nights. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We didn’t realise that the garden was fully enclosed so we didn’t have to worry about letting the dog out which was a real bonus. It was the perfect place for us to spend a few days to catching up with family and friends and I would highly recommend Jackos Barn to anyone especially dog owners.

Our second visit to Jacko’s Barn, we lived in the area until our move to Wales three years ago.

The location is perfect for visiting our old friends and the barn gives everything we need in terms of comfort and amenities. Our dog is able to have good walks, we are all very happy there. Our hosts,Laura and Ian, are dedicated to ensuring that the Barn is home from home. We love it !

Spot on for us.

Visiting the area to see an elderly relative and other family members. Not always easy with two dogs but Jacko’s Barn was ideal. The enclosed courtyard was safe and great for them for early morning and bedtime toileting. The accommodation had everything we needed plus some nice extra touches and we were very comfortable. We hope to stay there again.

Everything has been thought of to make visitors stay very comfortable. Jacko's Barn is in a superb location close to market towns, the coast, the Norfolk Broads and much much more. We had a lovely relaxing week in Jacko's Barn.

The facilities are excellent, extremely well equipped, lovely kitchen (nicer than my own!), comfortable furnishings and the best sleep we've had in years! For those who need it the internet connection is excellent. Ian is an excellent host, very friendly and the welcome pack of coffee, tea, sugar, milk etc was a nice touch. One of the nicest cottages we've stayed in, we wouldn't hesitate to return and are more than happy to recommend it to a to anyone who wants a restful, comfortable stay in a lovely rural location, yet still within easy reach of all that beautiful Suffolk at Norfolk have to offer

We never met the host until the wednesday because he was busy?

We never met the hostess at all. Sad really when you consider there running a business. Otherwise it was fine.

Ian is a character full of stories and puts his self out to help freeing up paddocks for the dogs, he mentioned his last guest were not good (bet HE didn't mention that he broke a dining room chair which Ian will have to replace) I has stayed there three weeks in total and not had an issue.

Jacks Barn was exactly what we had hoped for.

Very comfortable and.everything we could have wished for. Ian and Laura were perfect hosts and location was great. Good access to all local amenities and the coast. We would strongly recommend it.

Lots of little extras that added a welcoming touch. The beds were extremely comfortable. To help future holiday makers could I suggest the following. The towels could be less hard with a different approach to drying. A pizza tray or baking tray would be very useful. Finally, a brighter light in the bathroom would be a great help. I’ve mentioned several minor points that would benefit newcomers to Jacko’s barn. None of these detracted from a lovely holiday. Thank you Ian and Laura.

Had a relaxing holiday at Jackos Barn.

Everything needed was provided and very clean. Thoughtful extras like dogs towels and welcome tea, coffee, milk and biscuits and cleaning products. A lovely Barn with large enclosed seating area. Very peaceful walks around the lanes to relax. Missed out on visiting the Aviation Museum close by as I didn’t check the opening days, looked worth a visit. As well as the Swan pub across the road, another one is in walking distance in Wortwell. 2 good tips well worth doing - I ordered a Tesco delivery to arrive same afternoon and found Jackos Barn on google earth and street maps before I booked so I knew exactly where it was. Worth doing as the entrance is a bit hidden but I found it straightaway. Thank you Ian and Laura for a lovely stay.

Had a lovely time away at Jacko’s Barn.

A little hard to find - it’s actually not far at all from the road sign for Homersfield on the left hand side of the road and just over the small bridge. Watch out for the small sign saying “Laurian’s Barn” and another sign saying “Dove Cottage” down a dirt track off the main road. If you see Flixton Cemex Quarry on your right you’ve gone way too far! Suffolk is a great place to visit and the Aviation Museum is a stone’s throw away from the Barn and well worth a look.

It has all been said before every was just great and a lovely area

Delightful barn and we appreciated the personal touches.

However the property really needs an outside light or two - complete darkness. Directions to the barn need to state that it is 2/300 yds on the left from the junction as the sign is difficult to see and is not lit. People have already mentioned the birds scratching in the roof. Overall a lovely stay and we were made very welcome.

We had a short break but so lovely.

The accommodation at Jackos barn was comfortable but more importantly nice and warm, the underfloor heating was a nice touch. Would recommend however, we did struggle in the dark to find the Barn as the sign didn’t have a light so it was difficult to find however, we found it in the end and had a lovely stay.

Very comfortable accommodation, everything you need, loved the underfloor heating in the tiled kitchen/bathroom/dinning room area, this was particularly useful as the weather was cold and murky.

Location very good a visit to Norwich a must, lots of history, also not far from the coast weather permitting. Possibly a summer visit next year. Would highly recommend this property. One of the best stays so far with Sykes.

We very much enjoyed our stay.

There is just a couple of improvements which would have made it excellent. USB charging sockets in the bedrooms. A light at the end of the drive, it was extremely difficult to find in the dark from the main road. Block up the tiles. We were woken at dawn every morning with birds scratching under the tiles.

This couple went the extra mile with what they provided including total privacy and lovely welcoming gifts.

Have already booked for next year.

Our holiday in Suffolk and stay at Jacko's barn was everything we wanted and more.

Our accommodation had absolutely everything we needed, the owner was welcoming and gave us useful information about the area. Would have no hesitation recommending the accommodation or booking through Sykes.

A lovely barn conversion attached to the owners property with its own courtyard garden for relaxing in.

The property had all the all amenities you needed,washing machine, dishwasher etc, the lounge was very comfortable and everything was very clean and well presented. there were an abundance of towels for both us and also for the dog which was a nice thought. the hosts Laura and Ian were very welcoming and informative but otherwise invisible during our stay. A nice touch were the biscuits sweets and milk waiting for us when we arrived.The property sits in nine acres of the owners land leading down to the river in which we could walk our dog. A lovely area the local village hosts a pub which serves average but expensive meals though there are other better valued venues in the locality ( although you need a car to reach them), the village has a community wooded area behind the Church which provides a lovely shaded walk to enjoy. There is a small aviation museum in the locality that is worth a visit also Framlingham Castle and the coastal areas from Gt Yarmouth to Southwold are all within 40/50 minutes drive on very quiet roads that are a pleasure to drive on. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to return again in the future one of the best Sykes cottages we have stayed in.

Ian and Lorna, the owners, were very helpful and friendly. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and clean and we will definitely go back there on our next visit to Suffolk. Ten out of ten all round.

This cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and very well situated.

There is a pub within walking distance with a lovely stream and a lovely little dog walk through a small wooded area. There is also a farmers shop and cafe within walking distance with lovely gardens where you can sit with your dog. Absolutely ideal.

From the welcome as we arrived to the willingness to help in any way during the week to the peace and quiet of the Barn everything made our week so enjoyable.

From extra towels provided by the door for the dog to milk in the fridge and sweets and biscuits on the table this was 5 star service at the very least. Easily the best accommodation we have stayed in for a long long time. The quiet roads made for pleasant drives, the Aviation Museum (free entry) just two or three miles along the road brought back so many memories and we could have spent the whole day there easily. Less than an hour from the coast with plenty of places to visit around you do need a car but parking was easy and reasonably priced in most towns and free in some.

A wonderfully fully equipped cottage with everything needed for a lovely holiday, we were met on arrival by Jacko himself and made very welcome, would highly recommend this cottage, the only down side was the weather but even that didn't keep us in, a very lovely area to visit

We planned our week around visiting friends.

,the snow made us revise our plan. We spent some days in the Barn when driving was dangerous, we were so cosy we didn’t mind at all ! Jackson Barn is a real treasure.and the owners excellent hosts.

The cottage was of a high standard and everything was done to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
