“The accommodation was spot on, one of the best we have had so far.”

Every thing we required was there and it made the stay really comfortable and relaxing. The grounds and wildlife were brilliant.. The hosts left us a welcome pack which was appreciated, and they were very helpful with any queries we had. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again.

“The Grain Store was a beautiful, well equipped and comfortable cottage.”

It sits in 8 acres of grounds that were a delight to walk around - there was so much wildlife to see! The owner Carol was very welcoming and provided us with a generous welcome pack. The Grain Store was a great base from which to explore the local area - villages, towns, Norwich city, coastal resorts, nature reserves, the Broads - there was so much to see and do.

“When we fist arrived at the grain store our first impression was wow what a lovely property with beautiful grounds.”

Carol the owner came to greet us and show us around the Grain Store. Carol was lovely and really made us feel welcome. Our home for the next week was perfect,well furnished clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. the location was perfect being set in the Norfolk/Suffolk countryside which is absolutely beautiful. Carol had left us milk,eggs,coffee,tea and sugar for our arrival she then brought us a bottle of her very own apple juice to enjoy. It was so lovely sitting in the evenings looking towards the seven acres of her land seeing deer,rabbits,pheasants and partridges. I enjoyed many walks around the lakes and woods just outside our door. We loved both the property and the Norfolk/Suffolk area. We enjoyed the city of Norwich,the grey seals at Horsey Gap but overall the Grain Store is the perfect location for visiting a wide area of this beautiful part of the country. Thank you Carol for being such a good host to your wonderful property. We really enjoyed our holiday.

“Very nice cottage, well equipped, clean, quiet, warm and comfortable.”

Nothing at all to complain about. There’s parking right outside the door which is a big bonus for us. There are also 8 acres of grounds with wildlife to explore and two lakes, all on the doorstep, so to speak. Carol was friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, we enjoyed our chat with her about other countries. Can’t fault it!

“Really lovely property.”

The grounds are gorgeous and full of wildlife. The pheasants and partidges visited every day along with a deer, from time to time. We even had a jay on the patio. An automatic gate would have been nice but the excerise did us good. Luckily the weather was good except for our last day. Overall a very relaxing stay.

Inside it was cosy with a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering. From our sofa we could watch the wildlife outside in the beautiful grounds of the owners. Our patio provided a sunny spot for us to sit both at the start and end of the day. It was a great location for exploring the area and we had a busy week visiting Beccles, Bungay, Somerleyton, Great Yarmouth and Thorpeness, enjoying rowing, a vineyard tour and a day at the races. “What a little gem.”

The setting is wonderful and you are free to walk around the substantial grounds. Parking is directly in front of the property which was our top priority for our new motorcycle. The owner Carol was there to greet us - very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable too. “The Grain Store is an absolute gem of a find.”

The owners, Carol and Bill, have obviously worked very hard to provide everything you could possibly want to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It's the small things that really count - like speciality tea bags and plenty of dishwasher tablets rather than just a couple. There were even new toothbrushs and toothpaste in case you'd forgotten to bring one. The location is wonderful and you can be totally private. There's plenty of space to park right outside the property in a secure gravel drive and lots of grounds to wander through in the evening. We enjoyed our weekend stay so much we've even booked a week later in the year.

Beccles 6.2 miles, Great Yarmouth 8.8 miles; Norwich 17.2 miles.

Haddiscoe is a civil parish in South Norfolk, located just a short distance from the coastal towns of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Slightly further afield is the well loved seaside town of Southwold. The village enjoys a close proximity to the River Waveney and the Broads, as well as Wheatacre Marshes. This parish has the beautiful Church of St Mary’s, one of the best known of Norfolks round-towered churches. There is a local Farm Shop at Wheatacre Hall Farm which is well equipped with plenty of local produce for you to stock up on during your stay. Dining options include the Wheatacre White Lion, serving food and beverages in picturesque surroundings, or the Bell Inn at St Olaves which is reported to be the Broadland's oldest recorded Inn.
