2 Mosses Cottage

A lovely cottage in a very nice quiet Village.

Only petty little things we found, were a lot of cobwebs in corners & above curtains of front bedroom. And would be handy to have a clothes line in back garden. None of the above affected our stay & we would recommend this Cottage as an ideal base to explore the delights that Suffolk has to offer.

One of the best places we've stayed in.

Quiet, comfortable, tastefully decorated, well maintained & well equipped. The location is ideal for exploring East Suffolk. Just beware of the narrow, steep stairs if you have mobility issues.

This property is well placed.

There is a good bus service to Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. The Suffolk coast has a network of footpaths and many attractive walks could start from the cottage. It is an old property and the taller person must mind their head in the bedrooms.

This was our second visit.

We really love the property. It is very comfortable, very clean and well equipped. It is attractive both inside and outside - and peaceful. The decor and furnishings are tasteful. The garden is sunny. We like the walks we can do from the property without needing the car, eg to Snape and it is ideally situated in an area we know well. We will be booking for 2027.

Lovely 'home from home' in beautiful surroundings.

We've stayed here before - hence our return. Comfortable, well-equipped, beautifully designed. Two comments: firstly, thanks to you and the owner, Ian, for promptly sorting the digital heating system problems. Much appreciated. Secondly, the kitchen is a little dark. Can we suggest some under-cupboard lighting? We will be back!

Small cosy cottage set in a very good location for visiting the whole area.

We had such a nice stay at the cottage.

It’s very cosy, in a great location, and had everything we needed. Great and prompt communication from the host. We would definitely stay again.

It was a delightful cottage and well appointed.

Sad that the grass hadn’t been cut. The stairs a very steep and narrow and it was a bit of a struggle with suitcases, otherwise great. Rose

We enjoyed our stay in this comfy, clean and well presented cottage.

It is located in a small village, with a pub serving good food only a few yards down the road. Close enough to all the places we planned to visit including walks through the local footpaths past fields full of healthy, happy pigs ! Would recommend and come again.

Mosses cottage was spotlessly clean.

It was very comfortable and a well equipped kitchen. We couldn’t find fault with anything. If we holiday again in Suffolk we will definitely book 2 mosses cottage again. Highly recommend .

Very lovely cottage it’s in a lovely place for travelling around the area I will come back soon as I will be getting my puppy it’s a shame it doesn’t take dogs but I will definitely recommend to family and friends the owner was very patient and polite helping us get in late at night thank you for my much needed break x Mrs and Mr Hooker

We had a very enjoyable stay at 2 Mosses Cottage.

The cottage was very well equipped and situated in a quiet and peaceful area. Having never visited Suffolk before we found we were staying in a convenient area for exploring the many places of interest. The only trouble was a week wasn't long enough to do everything we wanted. Think we will need a second visit!

A very comfortable, quiet and clean property.

Our only issue was the access being at the back meaning walking along a narrow path past overgrown (sometimes wet) bushes teeming with midges which was not pleasant. No explanation was given as to why the front door could not be used. Otherwise we had an enjoyable stay in a lovely area.

An excellent cottage from which to explore that part of Suffolk.

The cottage was more than one could wish for - extremely well presented, comfortable and the equipment provided superb.

We book with Sykes regularly and have always been satisfied.

However, we’re finding the Friday changeover which is increasingly common with a lot of properties, is causing major travel problems for us. Friday, being the last day of the working week, has vast amounts of commercial vehicles using the roads. Consequently the journeys are fraught problems and the roads jammed up up with HGVs. This was particularly noticeable on the A14 with heavy goods vehicles travelling down to Felixstowe. A Saturday changeover would reduce this problem and make a much more pleasant journey for holidaymakers. I don’t know how families cope with a Friday changeover when their children are in school until late afternoon. It leaves us wondering whether the Friday changeover is for the benefit of the property owner rather than the guests,

Perfect for us….

My husband, my son and myself. Spotlessly clean, lots of thought given to include, for example, a sewing kit in one of the drawers!! Loved the table and chairs outside… had many a coffee and a relax there! The garden was lovely and the birds … including an owl one night regularly visited. We will return as the cottage was ideally located for everything. Honestly the cottage was lovely, very tastefully furnished to make our stay relaxed. We cannot fault it. Thankyou

A lovely little cottage, well-equipped, comfortable and located in a peaceful village.

Heating very efficient, though a stove in the lounge would be a welcome improvement to make it cosy for guests in colder months. A non-slip mat for use in the bath when showering would be useful and a word of warning about the tightly winding staircase might be helpful, as they are a bit tricky to negotiate with a full suitcase!

An excellent property, very clean and well presented.

Interior was stylish, modern, homely and uncluttered. The kitchen was well designed with all utensils, crockery etc anyone would need. The dining/seating area looking out to the garden and field beyond, was lovely as was the garden and lounge. Fluffy towels, very comfy beds, I could go on. The home owners have taken care with this property for us to enjoy. The parking was great too. The shower had been dismantled, I guess as the water pressure may be low but a lovely bathroom to enjoy a bath in. Great location for Snape Maltings, Orford, Aldeburgh, Saxmundham and Framlingham or further afield for a day out to Southwold.

Beautiful holiday cottage, immaculately clean, well equipped with quality kitchen utensils & equipment, extremely comfortable furnishings & beds.

Very peaceful location. I have no criticism at all & i will certainly be back for a future holiday, if I were to request anything for my future holiday, it would be a small foot stall, I have a slight disability & would be a little more comfortable, but it would be no trouble to bring one with me. Many thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

Parking for the car was different but quite acceptable.

Adequate kitchen utensils and crockery. In the small bathroom a shower cubicle would be better than a bath (no bath mat) with over shower. Generally a nicely presented cottage in a splendid area.

There is a problem with no key for the front door.

The cottage backs on to a farmers field. On our last night we were unable to use the back entrance to load our car. The farmer was using a watering system to water the potatoes and the spray was coming over half way up the garden path. We could not have used the entrance without becoming totally soaked. It had a very powerful spray. Also, it could be a fire risk if there is only one entrance!

The cottage was very clean.

There were lovely soft white towels to use and a kitchen pack of dishwasher tablets, jay-cloths, pan scourers and washing machine pods. Lovely peaceful place to stay with a lovely pub in walking distance for meals.

A really lovely cottage in a tranquil location with views from the back garden over farmland.

It was very relaxing sitting in the garden listening to the birds singing.
