We visited during the week when it was relatively quiet, but I imagine this could become quite problematic during school holidays when occupancy is higher. These may seem like minor issues, but it's the thoughtful touches and attention to detail that distinguish a good holiday rental from an bad one. With some investment in ensuring all basic amenities are provided this could be a much more welcoming place to stay.
