“We had a lovely stay at this cottage in Halesworth.”
The location is excellent, making it really easy to explore lots of nearby towns and attractions, which was a huge plus for us. We visited Southwold a few times, Aldeburgh, Oasis Camel Park (great fun!) and the fish and chips in Halesworth are recommended, as is the Italian food in The Angel.
The cottage itself is very old and full of character, think beams, quirks, and a real sense of history. If you’re after something sleek and modern with straight lines, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you love a cosy, traditional feel with plenty of charm, it’s absolutely perfect.
The garden was lovely, an English country garden with seating, ideal for relaxing, and great that it’s dog-friendly too. Inside, the cottage was well-equipped with plenty of utensils for cooking, and we appreciated all the thoughtful touches.
It felt really cosy throughout our stay, especially with the log burner, and there were books and games which made for some lovely evenings in. The record player was a particularly fun addition and a big hit with us, so much so one of my children has now bought his own record player!
Another bonus was Holton Pit being right by the house, an excellent spot for dog walks.
Overall, a charming, cosy cottage in a fantastic location; perfect for anyone who appreciates character and a homely feel.
We had a few little (one off) issues when we arrived and the owner was wonderful in sorting them and Sykes called the next day to check all was ok, it’s reassuring to know you have that back up from the word go. I recommended the cottage an Sykes.
