“On arrival we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the property.”
The main house had cobwebs and dust especially around the windowsills, but the studio room had clearly not been cleaned properly for some time, as there were many desiccated woodlice and spiders on the floor and on the bed-sheets. The aga was also unlit when we arrived, and it would have been difficult to cook for six people without it, we had to contact housekeeping to get someone out to light it. These issues were resolved the same day they were reported, but they should not have been issues ...

The ceilings are very low, lower than they appear in the pictures, and the stairs and floors are very uneven, with lots of narrow spaces. I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone with mobility issues or anyone on the larger side. A lot of the cushions/pillows also contained feathers, something to be aware of for anyone with allergies.
The property has a lot of character and there was plenty of room for the six of us who stayed there. The location is good, with easy road links and plenty of choices for eating out, Momiji japanese restaurant in Harleston was amazing. The kitchen was well equipped, although again cleanliness of some items was an issue. It was an interesting and quirky property, but the maintenance and cleaning really let it down for us unfortunately.
