Admiral Cottage

This is a lovely cottage in a tranquil setting which a glorious place to stay during a heat wave!

It is a small place - the bedroom in particular. Fine for a long weekend.

As promised we love this little place so much we came for a second stay!

The cottage is adorable and set in the most idyllic place and has everything needed for a few days break. It’s so quiet here. We came during two heatwaves and on both visits the cottage stayed cool inside. Suffolk really is a hidden gem and Blaxhall almost feels cut off from the world. So many amazing walks and little places close by to visit. It’s the perfect escape from London and we left even more in love with Suffolk. Thanks again for having us xxx

We absolutely loved our 4 nights with our dog at Admirals Cottage.

It’s been beautifully decorated, and the little welcome pack was appreciated. The kitchen is small so if you’re taking food don’t overpack but with a farm shop a short drive away we were happy to buy as we needed. The shower was amazing and the owners really have thought carefully about what they have included for your stay. They even included a doggy box with towels, bowls and bags! The peace and quiet was a welcome break from London life and with the pub a short walk away and lots of walks on your doorstep it really was idyllic. We’re already planning a return to Admirals Cottage. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday xx

I absolutely fell in love with this hideaway.

Everything was perfect: the generous starter pack, beautiful well equipped kitchen, clean and bright shower and such tasteful furnishings. The little garden with its table and two chairs was perfect for outdoor dining. And so peaceful, just the sound of birdsong in the morning. I drove back after a concert at Snape Maltings and happily snuggled into my comfy bed in the nautical upstairs. It was the bolthole I’d dreamed of.

This was my third visit to Admirals Cottage.

The cottage is in such a lovely spot - my (now three-legged) dog loves being able to go for a walk straight from the door along the little lanes and field footpaths. And of course further afield - a highlight this trip was to Aldeburgh where we sat on the beach and ate prawns from one of the shacks. A wonderful place to stay.

We had a wonderful relaxing holiday at Admiral Cottage, if you are looking for a quiet holiday near to the coast this is the cottage for you.

We will definitely be returning.

A very cosy cottage with all you need to relax, cook your own meals and explore the beautiful countryside around.

The cottage is quite small, perfect for one or two people. We loved to have breakfast outside in the little garden and to come home in the evenings to a comfortable sofa and bed and a well equipped kitchen. Thank you, Neill and Michelle, as well for the lovely welcome basket as for a wonderful week in Suffolk!

Admirals cottage is just the perfect place to switch off and relax.

It has everything you need, beautifully presented, well thought out given the space available. Incredibly quiet and so well situated for exploring Suffolk. Michelke and Neil were on hand if we needed them (not that we did!) but also very respectful of our space. The local pub is well worth a visit and in walking distance - the homemade chicken and leek pie and sausage rolls are amazing and the locals characterful!! Woukd return in a heartbeat xxx

This was my second visit to Admiral Cottage (and I shall certainly come back again!

) This is such a beautiful part of the country and the cottage is in a wonderful quiet, rural location. The cottage itself is so well fitted out and has everything you could need, and was warm and cosy and comfortable. It was a (second!) perfect stay.

We and our grand-dog had such a lovely time in Admirals Cottage.

It’s a cosy little abode, clean, beautifully decorated and with lovely facilities. Thank you Michelle & Neil for the lovely treats left for us and all the great recommendations for days out and local eateries.

My wife said it was like living in a Dolls House,all be it a well appointed Dolls House.

A delightful cottage, compact but well laid out and full of charm.

Adequately equipped for self catering. Comfy bed, pillows and duvet. Cute courtyard to sit and eat and enjoy silence for most of the time. It is a short drive to local pubs and shops. Some interesting walks around the cottage too. Very pleased with our stay. Thanks

Admirals Cottage was so comfortable - and lovely thick old walls keeping it as cool as possible in the very hot weather we had during our visit, and a gorgeous garden to sit in.

The local countryside is beautiful, with lots of footpaths and tiny lanes to explore with the dog, and plenty of interesting villages and towns nearby to visit. We had a lovely four days - should have made it longer. Thank you very much for a great stay.

Had a great 3 night stay, lovely cozy cottage, and equipped to a high standard.

Fantastic location with Southwold, Aldeburgh etc. just a short drive away. I always visit Blythburgh church as I was fascinated by “Black Shuck” as a child. Local pub (The Sip Inn) is a 15-20 min walk, and well worth a visit. If you stay here you will not be disappointed.

The cottage is small but really well equipped.

The location was not easy to find but the area is perfect with lots of places nearby to visit, walk the dog, and enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

So pleased I opted to stay in this ‘gem’ based in the countryside but also a 20 minute car drive away from the dog friendly outstanding villages and beaches of East Suffolk.

I didn’t need to pack everything but the kitchen sink as the owners literally thought of everything. Dog walking footpaths from the cottage, pub within walking distance where I had a nice Sunday lunch. I would 110% stay here again for peace and quiet. I loved all the Christmas tree fields too.

You’ll have seen a new brush and dustpan…. So sorry, we broke a plate ( warming it on the mini oven, opened said oven and it slipped off. ) Swept up the bits a bit too vigorously and broke the brush….

A little gem, tucked away in the village of Blaxhall.

The owners had thought of everything, and successfully, with thoughtful storage,provided all that one might need. A pleasant surprise was a well provisioned welcome basket. Lots of lovely walking for myself and Poppy! Thank you

We loved our week's stay in Admirals Cottage.

The cottage is beautifully decorated, cosy, quiet, comfortable and clean as a whistle. The owners clearly take pride in ensuring that their guests have the best possible experience. The cottage is also perfectly located to visit all the wonderful places on and near the Suffolk coast within half an hour's drive or less. Meanwhile, there are great walking trails within easy reach - we particularly enjoyed morning walks along both banks of the River Alde, only 5-10 minutes away by car. Lots of great pubs nearby for a relaxed dinner and a pint of Suffolk's finest at the end of each day too.

It was a beautiful cottage.

Everything you could possibly want was there. All the little details ticked. Very handy to get to all the places of interest. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We absolutely loved our 2 nights at Admirals Cottage and are already planning when to return for a longer stay.

Perfect for the two of us and our little dog. Very cute and cosy cottage, nicely decorated, everything you need for a comfortable few days away. Spotlessly clean, nice surprise hamper on arrival, quiet location and a good base to visit all the local areas including Snape, Aldeburgh, Woodbridge, Southwold and Framingham with a number of dog friendly pubs within a 10-15 minute drive. If I had to pick one thing that would make it even better it would be high speed wifi just so we could stay longer and incorporate some remote working (however we understand that due to location this may not be feasible). Thanks for such a lovely stay! We look forward to staying again soon.

A lovely, cosy little place in a quiet location.

The cottage has everything you need for a few days stay and was perfect for us as a base as we were out exploring Suffolk. The hamper that was left for us had everything in it we could want and the candle made it that little bit ‘more’. Thank you for a brilliant few days in your cottage-we will be back!

Lovely little cottage, ideal for a short break and located off the beaten track but within a short distance from Suffolk coastal highlights.

What a wonderful cottage!

I couldn't believe how comfortable it was. It was just me and the dog (a lurcher) and I had the most relaxing and restful time there. It is convenient for so many places but when you get home at the end of a day it is like a big hug. It felt like everything had been thought of. Not least the dog with lots of extras for her. I regretted not bringing a hairdryer and then found one in the drawer and an iron and ironing board. Thank you for the welcome gifts. I had a wonderful stay and hopefully will book again.

This was my second stay in this delight cottage.

I absolutely love the location it’s so peaceful and beautiful and yet easy to explore the surrounding towns, coasts and gorgeous villages.

This property was perfect set in a beautiful quiet hamlet .

Well equipped with matching quality crockery cutlery etc everything you needed was there. Comfortable bed quality bedding and towels. A brilliant electric shower which you don’t always find. The downside for me was the very thick tree needed cutting back as it blocked out light in the living area.Would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday.

Really enjoyed our week here, with lots of interesting places within easy reach.

The cottage is excellent, being small but clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and responsive - there was an issue with the shower on our first day, but they were straight onto it as soon as we mentioned it and it was fixed within hours. Would happily stay here again to explore more of what Suffolk has to offer.

Loved this teeny cottage.

Everything we needed was there and the location is perfect for Snape Maltings, Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Southwold, Aldeburgh...we even ventured to Bury St Edmunds. So peaceful here. The only considerations I would include is that it is really compact, with a 2 ring hob & a worktop oven for example, and that the mattress is very hard which my husband & I found extremely uncomfortable (but that is a personal preference). Other than that it is a lovely home from home in a gorgeous location and we had a wonderful week here.

Bijou it might be but this cottage had everything we required from comfort, cleanliness, quietness, on the doorstep dog walks, location to wonderful places be it coastal or woodlands we were very pleased we booked this beautiful little cottage.

Every detail was catered for by the very friendly and helpful owners. We will return and look forward to doing so.

Very nice and set in a lovely rural location.

The silence was palpable and we were blessed with clear nights and starry skies unpolluted by street lights. Despite the isolated feel, the delights of Aldeburgh, Orford and Thorpeness are a short drive away. The property was well equipped, in very good condition and sparkling clean. Could have done with a shower mat but otherwise couldn't fault the cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Comfortable clean quaint cottage.

We loved our stay in the cute cottage.

It had everything we could need for a couple of nights. It was super clean and organised. The well maintained and private outside space was a bonus as the weather was lovely.

This is an excellent addition and 'little gem' to what is on offer in Suffolk for single/couple with/without a dog.

The charm has been perfectly pitched in an area of peace and calm only a couple of miles from Snape and Suffolk beyond. A thoughtful welcome pack worked to enhance the warmth. This is a new property and all the necessary amenities were provided. We stayed for a couple of nights but felt relaxed to wish we could have stayed longer. Well done, would not hesitate to recommend you and would definitely rebook.

Admirals Cottage is perfect for a peaceful holiday in a gorgeous rural location from which you can easily explore the towns, villages, rivers and coastline of East Suffolk.

We were the first guests to stay at Admirals Cottage, it is absolutely lovely, you can really see the care and attention that has gone into making it a comfortable place to stay. It's in a perfect location for exploring the local area, and further afield. Aldeburgh, Southwold and Woodbridge are well worth a visit. We popped up to Yarmouth and Lowestoft as well. Neil was really helpful with some recommendations of places to eat, we had a nice bite to eat at The Duck, Campsea Ashe and popped into The Ramsholt Arms on our way home for lunch, again this was lovely. Only a few bit's of feedback, non are negative, just some observations. It would be good to have a little book telling guests the basic info like WiFi Password, which bin is which (we weren't sure if we could put glass in the recycling). We couldn't work out how to get the normal TV channels on the TV (not sure if that was actually possible LOL). The welcome hamper as lovely. Will definitely be recommending to friends and will be back for another visit soon.
