Ash Tree Cottage, Aldringham

Ash Tree Cottage is stylish, comfortable and very well equipped.

It is in a lovely situation and very easy to visit the coast as well as to enjoy walks from the cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay.

I booked this property for myself, my wife, my brother and his wife.

Unfortunately my wife was hospitalised before our booking So only my brother and his wife could go. There comments are included below:- A lovely cottage with a large lawned garden. Garden furniture provided. The cottage is spacious inside. The lounge area has comfortable seating to relax and views on 3 sides looking out on the garden. The beds are big & very comfortable. Fully equipped. The cottage is situated in a useful location for walking (ideas & routes provided in the information pack) and also for easy travel to explore the area.

The cottage was lovely and well equipped.

The location was lovely and quiet, apart from the cock pheasant who wanted to be heard. We would definitely visit again. It was a shame the weather was chilly as the outdoor patio looked very inviting.

What a lovely property.

From the moment we stepped in we knew we were going to have a relaxing week. Comfortable beds...so important. Kitchen layout....superb. Spotless bathrooms.....wonderful showers and plenty of hot water. The views out into the lovely gardens...fabulous. Thankyou. Karen and Dennis Miles

Ash Tree Cottage was a home from home for us.

Everything we needed was supplied. Great location and close to the coast. We would like to return in the summer months to make the most of the lovely garden.

This was our 3rd stay here.

The cottage has a lovely airy feel and is very spacious and comfortable - especially the beds .We very much felt at home . The location is ideal for us and it's great to be surrounded by greenery and nature . We had an issue with cleanliness on arrival but this was resolved quickly and efficiently. We had a fantastic stay and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to stay again ourselves.

Fourth visit says it all, nice area and property.

A picture perfect cottage in beautiful grounds, perfectly situated for all the attractions.

The cottage is very clean, very private, and supremely comfortable. We love relaxing in the garden which gets the sun all day long. We have explored the local footpaths and love exploring RSPB North Warren just a few steps away. Looking forward to returning again next year. This cottage is a credit to the owner.

lots to do plenty places to visit.Snape Maltins, Thorpeness Aldeburgh ,Southwold all worth a visit We visited Jimmy's Farm, Framlington Castle,Suffolk Punch Stud. Flatford Mill and could go on.Host of supermarkets ,eating pubs within easy reach.Two week stay flew by wish we'd had longer.Thank You for a great holiday

Kitchen worktop was so sticky on arrival that we wondered if varnish had been applied but not dried, it remained like that for the duration of our holiday.

Little flies in the house were an annoyance, a commercial zapper might have helped as food prep was attractive to them! Dishwasher was unable to be repaired by the engineer so a washing up bowl would have helped as I was worried about scratching the sink with pans and cutlery. Barking dogs next door. Beautiful green space and birdsong. Bed is extremely comfortable. Loads of instant hot water. Good oven and good size fridge and freezer, appliance books useful.

Absolutely lovely cottage.

It is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is brilliant and the cottage and garden is beautiful. We had a wonderful 2 week stay.

Enchanting property.

Wonderful art work and so bright and airy. Absolutely everything you need, like hotel facilities. The cleanest self catering property I have stayed in through Sykes. Thank you to the owner for sharing her beautiful quirky home, delightful. For us only downside, as we live where there is no passing traffic, the road being at the end of the long garden was a bit of a surprise. You could hear at busy periods but after around 7pm very quiet. Don't let this deter you though as I would think for majority of people no problem. The dark skies at night are breath taking. We even had visits from hares! A magical break in a gorgeous property in stunning Suffolk.

Another relaxing and restful stay Lovely comfortable cottage, beautiful garden, very clean and It had every we needed.

The property was excellent and fulfilled all our expectations - a lovely, lovely base for a super week in Suffolk.

The only “problem” we experienced was finding it - it was dark when we arrived and we had to make several passes before we could safely pull over and recognise the entrance. We would absolutely recommend that a What3Words address is added to the property arrival information.

Beautiful property, very comfortable and clean with lovely garden and surroundings.

Lots of pleasant walks radiating out and around, with interesting historical aspects such as the old dismantled railway footpath to Aldeburgh and Thorpeness. Wildlife is in abundance, with the garden having 14 Blackbirds in at one time - the most I have ever observed in one place at one time.

Very quiet location, well kept garden , quality furnishings, lovely Aldeburgh 4 miles.

We have left details of basic shortcomings in the Repair Book in the cottage.

They are :- upstairs bedroom window unable to open Lock on side door very difficult to open Salt required for dishwasher Despite the foregoing, we ha£ a great time- helped in part by a week of blues skies!

Excellent, clean and clutter free cottage.

Massive garden, walks from the doorstep and close to all the best bits of the Suffolk coast. I can see why people repeat book this property and we hope to visit again.

Clean and comfortable in a lovely location.

Lots of walks in the area and the main reason we booked this property was to visit RSPCA Minsmere, which we visited and had a lovely time. Southwold, Walbeswick and coast really nice, with the heathland and trees just coming into leaf. We had a perfect week.

The cottage was spacious, nicely decorated with interesting pictures.

The bed was comfortable but the duvet was not fastened at the end so it slipped out of the cover overnight. Disappointed that the upholstered dining room chairs shown on the web site description had been replaced by uncomfortable, hard plastic chairs. The website photos should be amended to stop false impressions. The garden was large, with nice furniture and not over-looked. The location was excellent for visiting the coastal towns both north and south of the cottage.

Well equipped and very clean property with lovely large gardens (though note that any children would need supervision as not fully fenced off from road).

Comfortable beds. Lots to do in the area including places to eat and walks from the front door. Our only gripes would be a lack of towel rail next to the bathroom basin and duvets too high a tog given the cottage was warm upstairs even in April with upstairs radiators turned off, but they are minor compared to all the things that were great.

A wonderfully bright, comfortable and spacious cottage with an amazing and very large garden!

The kitchen and dining space can be enjoyed together, and if you enjoy cooking there is everything you need to self cater. We travelled for my mother's 82nd Birthday and my sister's 50th Birthday and the cottage was a perfect retreat for this. The local contacts that work on behalf of the owner are very friendly, and easily contactable. We didn't have contact with the owner, but she was very kind when my mother brushed past a picture which brought the hooks out of the wall and caused the picture to fall. We reported it and it was not a problem for which my elderly mother was hugely relieved, as she had been a little distressed when it happened! Thank you on her behalf from her grateful son! This cottage is highly recommended. We didn't stay in summer, so couldn't make full use of the garden, but I imagine it's a delight in summer!

Good amenities, comfy bed and a bonus having a smart TV.

This was our third visit to Ashtree Cottage.

We love the space inside and outside and the privacy and the peace and quiet. The Cottage has quality furnishings and is very well equipped. We appreciated the attention to detail such as providing shower gel, shampoo, hand soap and kitchen roll and the wine and nibbles were a bonus. It is in a perfect position for birdwatching with RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath only a short drive away.

We have stayed at Ash Tree Cottage for the past 7 summers and it seems to get better every time we visit.

The owner has made the cottage feel so welcoming, relaxing and comfortable, with some lovely personal touches such as the wall art, which is why we love it so much. The large garden and outdoor space is fantastic. The cottage is situated in a quiet location, backing onto fields, yet close to all the places of interest in the area. We are always very sad to leave and would once again like to thank the owner for the opportunity to experience Ash Tree Cottage and all it has to offer.

We loved staying here.

There was so much room inside and out and we appreciated the well equipped kitchen too. Having good quality extras such as hand soap, shower gel and shampoo was a bonus as well as the very welcome bottle of wine and nibbles. The house was well placed for bird watching with Minsmere and Dunwich Heath nearby. We have already booked to go back!

Ash Tree Cottage was extremely clean and very comfortable.
