“We had a lovely stay at The Hideaway.”
We have stayed in many Aldeburgh cottages over the years and thought we would try The Hideaway as we walked past the door on our last visit. It was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and very clean. It had everything we needed in the week- the kitchen was compact for four but very well equipped. The bathroom was clean and the bedrooms and living room again, comfortable and well equipped. The stairs however, are very steep and maybe should be pointed out in the description. Older visitors ...

Older visitors would find it difficult to carry luggage up and down.
We would have appreciated a blind in the kitchen as it was very hot and glaring in the morning sun. (There was a light roller blind but it didn't work.) The overhead shower could do with a limescale clean as it was very spitty. Great to have the filter jug in the fridge. I repaired one of the roman blinds in the front bedroom where the threads had worn and snapped preventing it being used properly. One of the inset ceiling bulbs on the landing was flashing when switched on but with such high ceilings, we couldn't have reached that to change the bulb even if we had known how! I realise we could have called Best of Suffolk with these things but they were only minor issues and maybe things like blinds and lights could be checked by the cleaning staff after visits.
We found the situation of the apartment perfect for accessing town, sea and all the parts of Aldeburgh we love. The on-road parking outside was empty first thing each morning but otherwise busy. We were able to park outside the white lion but unloading on arrival was tricky. Our week was in the heatwave and the noise from the restaurant opposite and road was significant with windows open. The seagull noise from the surrounding roofs - which we love usually - started just before 4am and didn't stop! We realise there is nothing you can do about these issues but it will probably prevent us returning in the summer months! Autumn or winter would be a very different experience I'm sure.
These are all minor issues really - we had a great week and feel very grateful that you make this lovely apartment in our favourite place available for holidays. Thank you.
