Pied a Mer, Aldeburgh

We spent an enjoyable week in the Pied a Mer in Aldeburgh, the apartment had everything we needed.

Located some 75 mtr from the sea front and even less from the main street it was very convenient. There are a number of good places to eat, but you should try and book early. Parking has to be watched, but was not a real problem. The only issue that could be a problem is the stairs from the front door, less able visitors could have a problem getting items up the stairs.

A lovely property with everything needed to make our stay comfortable- a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and nice bathroom.

Close to high street, car park and the sea. Thanks for leaving wine and biscuits plus dishwasher tablets. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We thought this little apartment was excellent, very well designed and comfortable.

You can even see the sea from the window seat. It's very handy for the high street. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen well supplied with equipment. The only problem was only a couple of nights there was really loud music from the property below until about 930pm. We may have just been unlucky with that as it appeared there was construction going on, but unusually it didn't stop at 6pm.

Excellent flat for a couple visiting wonderful Aldeburgh.

Very comfortable and of high quality. Seconds away from the beach and the high street. Looking forward to visiting again.

This was our second visit to Pied a Mer.

We love Aldeburgh and the apartment is perfectly located, almost on the high street, view of the sea and huts selling fresh fish, one minute from the cross keys pub but quiet and private. The apartment has everything you might need including a good selection of cooking equipment and the hosts leave a range of useful items including tea bags dishwasher tablets etc not to mention the wine and biscuits. We will be back.

The accommodation is well located for local amenities as well as the local sightseeing attractions.

It is clean and comfortable and well equipped with all you need for an enjoyable stay. The parking restrictions have potential to be a problem but with a bit of forethought they can be overcome.

Stairs are very steep, makes carrying your cases difficult, especially for the older guest.

Lovely property.

Very comfortable and well-equipped. Bed was great. Big fluffy towels much appreciated. Only downside for us was the parking situation, although that’s not the fault of the property owners. Most holiday areas we’ve visited in the past - including North Devon where we live - allow visitors to buy a weekly parking ticket, which we’d happily have bought to save the stress of having to keep moving our vehicle from one place to another to avoid parking fines. Overall, lovely property in a lovely location.

Could do with more information about using the tv.

The stay at the flat was as good as usual.

I was lucky to get the no-mans land to park for most of my stay but it still remains difficult to keep avoiding the traffic wardens. Bob's quick attention to the functions of the TV was much appreciated, although we never quite mastered it .

Comfortable well thought out apartment , this was our second stay here and would happily return .

Very peaceful location but so close to town and the beach . Lovely walk on the beach to Thorpeness

In the middle of lively Aldeburgh with many good restaurants.

Accommodation was excellent but in the shower/bath it would be useful to have a ‘grab rail’ as there are only the edge of the bath and the door handle to hold onto when getting out. Very much enjoyed our stay - especially watching the team triathlon on the Sunday!

The washing machine is advertised as having a drier but it doesn’t, there is no obvious way of operating the heated towel rail and the front door lock is in need of some attention.

Although I was able to open and lock the door my wife was unable to turn the key herself.

Fantastic stay in a lovely property.

Beautifully maintained, clean and provided everything needed as well as a few extras which were much appreciated. Location was brilliant for the town and beach area. Would definitely stay again

Loved the appartment.

Had a great time. Would happily return. Practical feedback … The front door lock only opens about every other attempt.. the lock stays very slightly out on the alternate attempts…. I just wonder if eventually it may not open ? The washing machine says in the book that it is a washer dryer which it isn’t as far as I could tell

Pied a Mer is beautifully appointed and ideal for two people.

The facilities provided are excellent and beyond what might reasonably be expected. The provision of deck chairs and a wind break, for example, was kind and thoughtful. Similarly, finding milk and biscuits made us feel hugely welcome. I cannot recommend this highly enough. We will certainly seek to book again.

A wonderful property in a magical place

I have stayed at Pied a Mer before and love it.

It is so central to all that Aldeburgh has to offer yet private and quiet. The only tiny negative (which is nothing to do with the property) is the need to move the car because of the local parking restrictions however it is not difficult and I have never failed to park nearby. I will definitely return.

Lovely homely apartment close to beach,town,pubs and restaurants of Aldeburgh .

..everything very clean and modern with comfy bed and great shower....non stop hot water for the bath too! Parking fairly easy just outside although be aware to move your car before 11am to save a parking ticket ..or there's lots of spaces on the roads above the town steps...loved our stay

Pied a Mere is a beautiful little apartment and this was our second visit.

Perfect - great location for beach and shops.

Extremely clean and well equipped, very comfortable bed, good shower and good heating. No wonder we have been back 3 times!
