Bunny Cottage, Aldeburgh

Another great stay in Bunny Cottage over Christmas.

Property was very comfortable and warm, important as the weather was very cold. It was nice to have a Christmas tree, and a lovely welcome pack of wine, biscuits etc. A previous guest mentioned problems with the television, but we had no problems with it at all. Hope to be back again soon.

Great location, very clean, nice rooms.

Bathroom a bit dated but was very clean. Obviously TV an issue for some but to be honest it didn't really bother us as there's plenty to do. Overall a great place to stay.

What a wonderful find!

All the home comforts, ideally situated in the middle of town, with views of the sea from the roof terrace. We were left a bottle of wine with biscuits on arrival- a nice touch. Very comfortable beds and furniture, and a well stocked kitchen with everything you might need.

Bunny cottage was beautiful.

It had everything we needed and was in a brilliant position. I would highly recommend Bunny Cottage to anyone wanting to visit Aldeburgh.

A wonderful cottage and well equipped- interesting layout and a bit like a rabbit warren with surprises round the corners which I liked, and with lots of light airy spaces.

I could not get much reception on TV which told me there was no signal/reception but I did not persevere as I only wanted it for the BBC news - I found enough news on my phone. Upstairs terrace was a good sun trap with seagulls nesting nearby - 3 nests with different ages. No real complaints as I enjoyed everything - a well kept cottage and in a very good position. I did not need parking which could, if needed, be a problem as there is only short term parking near to the property. I was very spoilt to have the entire property to myself! And the weather was mainly superb.Thank you for all.

Everything you would ever need in a holiday let ,so well equipped .

The only downside was the lack of terrestrial television .

The only improvement for this cottage would be descaling of the kettle.

The cottage was ideally situated within a stones through of all the amenities that Aldeburgh has to offer, the kitchen was well equipped , the main bedroom was very comfortable and the roof terrace was a delight (the weather was fantastic during the whole of our stay).

Our only criticism would be that the decor could do with a bit of a refresh. Overall highly recommended.

For me, the delight of Bunny cottage was the study.

The cottage was comfortable, and tastefully furnished. Everything one could possibly want was supplied. Rob, the owner, was attentive and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay. Would recommend Bunny cottage

Marilyn Watts ​ Sykes Cottages ​ Dear Sykes Cottages.

On arrival at Bunny Cottage we switched on the downstairs lights and found that only about 4 ceiling lights out of 10 or 12 worked, making it rather dark. A standard light in the far corner was at a jaunty angle which we thought was broken but only needed screwing up. We went upstairs to unpack and looked out onto the balcony to see that it needed a good clean before we could use it. I went out and took the covers of the furniture, only to find it all very dirty with some gull droppings dried hard on the seating, this had been there for some time. Luckily there was a hose pipe nearby so with some hot water from the kettle downstairs and a cloth we were able to clean the seating and with the hose ,wash down the flooring. On reading the comments in the visitors book later we noticed this had been commented on before! So no lessons learned there! Perhaps a yard broom on the sun deck would be helpful. There was also a small chip of plaster on the wall in the master bedroom that was there on arrival so we don't expect any deduction for this. We feel some of these issues could have been addressed had we had a response from the owners. We did phone the owner on the number in the paperwork at least 3 times and left messages without any return calls or a visit. We don't expect this from a Sykes cottage. Several comments in the visitors book mentioned Rob's speedy arrival in sorting out their issues. Shame we didn't get the same standard of treatment. Cant fault the high quality of bed linen and towels and overall though the cottage was clean inside and apart from the above we enjoyed Aldeburgh and we love Suffolk but feel we would not recommend Bunny Cottage to friends. We did not by the way leave any comments in the visitors book as we felt it would be wrong to put the dampers on a property which they have given much love and thought into. By the way, the cooker needs a replacement bulb in the oven and we could not find the vacuum in the kitchen cupboard! We came to Aldeburgh to celebrate of 50th wedding anniversary and it was a shame that it was tinged with a little sadness because of the above issues. Regards Alan and Marilyn Watts.

So well equipped.

Lively welcome wine, biscuits and milk as well as tea and coffee. Bed very comfortable with good quality linen and pillows.Could have done with a standard light in the living room or table light as not good enough fir me to sew! But that’s just me. Terrace was wonderful.

Only downside was the front door lock breaking on 2 separate occasions.

Both times it was attended to but a new lock is in hand I believe to be replaced. Also there was no welcome letter left and the WiFi pass in the best of Suffolk folder isn't recognised. We had to use the password on the router in the small bedroom.

The washing machine was unusable until we'd removed lots of shredded dried paper from the drum.

The machine was filthy and the detergent draw didn't pull out so the powder I'd bought came home with me unopened and had to go and buy tablets. The tumble dryer took hours to dry laundry and made a horrendous noise - way above the TV. The TV had a vertical black line down the screen. There are no wardrobes in the bedrooms. The toilet flush in the en-suite is very hard to work, as is the one in the full bathroom, also the toilet seat moves from side to side in here too. I have let the owner know privately. It's a shame about the lack of cleanliness and repairs needed that should have been reported by the cleaner and repaired. Such a lovely little cottage. The ensuite is way too small for a couple with no storage space

Bunny Cottage is absolutely lovely.

Very well stocked with crockery, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils etc. Nicely decorated throughout with a lot of care and attention to detail. I loved the upstairs 'reading room', a lovely touch. Lovely comfy bed and we had a bathroom each, blissful! We had beautiful hot weather and we sat on the roof terrace a lot, looking out to the sea. We enjoyed the '80's Carnival theme very much and I was able to catch up with some friends and reminisce about our youth in the '70's and early '80's, when I lived and worked in Aldeburgh. I always love coming back and being able to stay in Bunny Cottage was the icing on the cake! Thank you Jo & Rob.

Lovely location.

The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside, the door was difficult to lock/unlock. Perhaps we would recommend a new shower head and hose to both bathrooms and a new plug for the bath. Saying that we would book again .

We had a lovely week in Bunny Cottage,Comfortable, clean and very homely,everything you need for a relaxing week away.

With the beach,shops,coffee shops and restaurants so close, there is everything you need just a few minutes walk from the cottage.

Delightful stay in Bunny Cottage.

Perfect for the 2 of us for New Year. Loved the Christmas tree and other welcoming touches. Very well equipped and comfortable. All spotlessly clean - excellent location near beach, High Street and restaurants/pubs. Parking straightforward.

It was in a great location and the kitchen was well equipped.

The log burner was fantastic. However the photos completely misrepresent the space and light. It was so small dark and pokey . I was so disappointed when I opened the front door. Had I known this I wouldn’t have booked it and it led to a less enjoyable Christmas than I had hoped for. The upstairs was ok. I had the small bedroom- nowhere to hang clothes and the rings in the bottom draw of the chest kept coming off. The bathroom was ok - a bit dingy to be honest and I had to wedge something under the bathroom plug so that the bath water could drain away. I’m very disappointed by the misrepresentation of the inside - it was nowhere near as nice as it was portrayed on your website and I certainly won’t be returning to Bunny Cottage. I doubt I’d recommend Sykes either as I think the way you portray properties is dishonest.

Bunny Cottage was perfect - spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.

The facilities in the cottage are first class and couldn’t have a better location for high street and beach.

The cottage is finished to a very high standard and is in an ideal location.

Bunny cottage is perfectly located in Aldeburgh and whilst car parking could be an issue in peak season there are many options which should allow free parking.

The property itself wants for nothing and is fitted out to a high standard with white goods, furniture and linens, all adding to the Great feel of the place which is 'tardis' like on the inside with 2 fine bedrooms , a study ,lovely lounge and dining kitchen, with bathroom, ensuite and cloakroom and then the sundeck with Seaview. We have said that in East Anglia Bunny Cottage is hard to better and truly well presented.

Bunny Cottage is very comfortable,and well equipment in the kitchen,only thing missing was a small kitchen knife.

The roof Terrance is a great place to sit in theism and have breakfast ,most morning's . We would come back again . Great restaurants in Aldeburgh,would recommend the Regatta ,also lunch at the Wentworth on a rainy afternoon .

Can't praise Bunny Cottage enough.

It had everything we could have wished for and more. It was stylish, luxurious and comfortable too. Also convenient for High Street and beach. Plenty of information and leaflets. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We always enjoy Bunny Cottage, ideal position , comfortable, welcoming wine and other foodstuffs to share, fresh air on the terrace, in all a good 10 days.

Lovely house, in great location and extremely well provisioned with everything you might need in self-catering accommodation.

Terrace is a real plus......albeit the relentless NE wind during our stay prevented us making best use of it!

Could not have chosen a nicer place to stay. Really lovely interior, lots of thoughtful touches. Also so convenient to shops and a few steps to the sea !

Very well appointed property - never stayed in one so we’ll equipped and beautifully decorated.

Found stairs a bit difficult but that’s me, whilst parking worked well although not so sure in the summer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in such a good location in the town - the good weather helped too.

Parking in Aldeborough is tricky, but manageable at this time of year (May).

The cottage was extremely comfortable and furnished to a high standard of care with lots of extra touches and good information. All in all a positive recommendation for other users.

Lovely cottage.

Our second stay. Very comfortable. Location was excellent. Parking issue can be got around. Always managed to park outside overnight. Everything you could need for a restful and relaxing break

I have listed your details as inaccurate regarding parking.

Your details stated that parking was outside but in reality the was only limited parking time. Outside the cottage was limited to 2 hours, then we would have to move the vehicle. The car park opposite was limited to 4 hours, both of which was between 8.00am and 6.00 pm. If we had known then I would have looked for a property with a parking space even if it was cost a little extra. Most days we were looking at the time which spoilt our holiday as we could not fully relax.

A perfect cottage in a perfect position.

We loved the cottage because it was close to the beach and high street. Well equipped and clean a very comfortable place to stay. I would recommend this cottage.

Bunny Cottage is a sweet place to stay.

It’s very well located just off the high street, it’s cosy and comfortable, and has everything you need. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are comfy, and having a shower as well as a bathroom is great, with excellent fluffy towels. Perhaps a non-slip mat would be a good addition. We had trouble getting the tv to work for normal channels! I fear I left my mobile phone charger in the living room, plugged in near the tv - it would be good to have it back if you find it.

We had a lovely Christmas break at Bunny Cottage.

The cottage is very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped (so making Christmas dinner there was no problem).

been here before and enjoyed a second visit some areas are getting tired but still ok position very favourable for shops etc

Aldeburgh is a tremendous place for a relaxing weekend, or a great base for a longer stay in Suffolk.
