“His cottage is well located and reasonably well-equipped, however the customer service is non-existent.”

We arrived Friday afternoon to discover there were no towels. We immediately contacted the relevant WhatsApp number where our inquiry was handled by an AI bot. We were informed that an agent would contact us as soon as one became available. That was 8 pm on Friday. It is now 10 am on Monday, and apparently no agent has "become available". I will be very wary of booking this cottage in the future.

Lovely and clean, very welcoming on a murky winters’ day. There was nothing we needed that the property didn’t have, aside from the WiFi being insufficient to operate any streaming service on the smart tv, download the app to operate the fire (the remote control for the fire didn’t work/batteries dead) or make a phone call over WiFi (there is no signal in the property). Whilst we didn’t visit to spend a lot of time in the property, I’d expect adequate WiFi when we were inside - given it is necessary to operate the features detailed in the property listing. We also found that the back door had not been attended to, despite several previous reviews mentioning that it sticks badly and can’t be opened easily. Nothing has changed in that respect. Minor points that just took the edge off what would have been a perfect stay.

“Lovely cottage where every detail has been thought off.”

Very central to everything. The only thing I would say needs to be advertised is the fact it’s a shared courtyard with next door. Unfortunately we could not use the courtyard during the 2 days as the back door was open to next door and our dog could not be let out. I think there must have been work happening next door and on our last full day there was a lot of noise which was unfortunate as we had come back for a rest.

Having the beach right on our doorstep was lovely for morning/ evening walks as-well as the town. The bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to have the separate mezzanine space! We would definitely recommend!!

“The stay we had at 51 Tern cottage Aldeburgh was very pleasant, very comfortable and clean .”

Just the break we needed after a tough summer due to ill health , operation followed by treatment. Our little dog made herself at home but wouldn’t go in the courtyard we must admit didn’t realise it’s joint on to 53 it’s more like a passage way shame as the cottage it’s self is very homely . The locals were very friendly enjoyed our 4 night break , plenty of walks last walk was at 11pm for Bobbi to go to the toilet before bedtime she sleeps in her crate not a sound from her so she enjoyed her stay thanks again .

The property was beautifully decorated and provided a very cosy base to explore the surrounding area. The location was perfect, only a very short walk to the beach and just behind the high street, not far from fantastic fish and chips and a lovely local bakery! We will definitely be back!

“The front door needs an oil.”

Can be difficult to get key out. Mattress seems too big for bed because my husband fell out of bed. Doesn’t seem to be enough support on window side. And a lack of storage in bedroom. None in fact and there is no way I am climbing ladder to put my stuff in a drawer. Surely there is room for a tall boy

“We could not get the lounge lights to work, although the lights from the kitchen area were sufficient to remedy this.”

Our bin wasn't put out by the neighbour as the information pack described. This was annoying as the bins went unemptied and we've have happily done this ourselves. The bathroom door needs a hook for towels / dressing gowns! And lastly .. this is not really down to you, but the information could possibly be added to the info pack. The fish & chip shops fry in beef dripping, which is unheard of anywhere else. Absolutely no good to vegetarians! But we loved the stay generally, and we will use you again.

“We enjoyed our stay at this beautifully decorated and cosy cottage.”

Such lovely interior design! Great central location near the sea. It’s very compact and the stairs won’t suit everyone but it was fine for us. The heating was easy to work and responsive which is good now it’s not so warm. Enjoyed the bath. It’s a shame the shower doesn’t have a hand held attachment and were worried it might overflow. Could have done with some washing up liquid (had to buy some) and a dishcloth but otherwise very well equipped and found everything we needed. Appreciated the welcome gifts of wine,biscuits and milk. It’s a shame that the tv hasn’t been connected to the internet so that could get Netflix etc. I’m sure it’s possible to sort it out but we couldn’t manage so watched tv on a laptop instead. Would definitely recommend.

The open plan ground floor is bright with windows to the front and rear and wooden floor and there is a large rug for comfort and practicality. Living/Dining/Kitchen The front door leads from King Street into the living room of this chic cottage. There is a vibrant three-seater sofa and a huge flat screen smart TV for your entertainment. The room has been decorated with soothing tones and the sash window at the front lets the light flood in if you want it to. Carefully considered lighting will bring calm to the living space. Enjoy meals at home at the solid round table with two chairs, placed to the right, beside the entrance to the kitchen. The chef in the farmily is will appreciate the wonderfully equipped kitchen with all the appliances needed for culinary creations. You'll have an integrated fan oven with grill and four ring induction hob with extractor over, a slimline dishwasher, under counter fridge with icebox, and a microwave. Enjoy your coffee in the mornings with the Nespresso machine. Wooden stairs rise from the kitchen to the small landing. First Floor On the first floor in this delightful cottage is a king-size bedroom and a good-sized bathroom. Master Bedroom Enjoy a peaceful night's sleep in the comfortable king-size bed between bedside tables. There is a chest of drawers on the mezzanine level and hanging space for your belongings. There’s a wide flat-screen TV on the wall with built in DVD and Freeview for lazy mornings before an enjoyable day out by the sea. Mezzanine Above the bedroom, up wooden ladder steps, is a fabulous mezzanine floor with natural light from two windows. An ideal spot to read or do a bit of work if you need to whilst you're away. In this space there is a large chest of draws and a comfortable chair. Bathroom A super-sized room with a splendid double end roll top bath and separate shower cubicle, a wide hand basin with waterfall tap, a WC and a heated towel rail. Outside At the back of the cottage is a small space accessed through a door from the kitchen. With a table for two, perhaps a perfect spot for morning coffee or an alfresco glass of wine in the evening. The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town.
