Warren Cottage

We felt extremely privileged to get the opportunity to stay in the heart of the wonderful Tiger Hill reserve, serenaded by tawny owls by night and surrounded by dancing butterflies by day.

The rustic cottage was simple and charming and the beds were very comfortable, as was the seating in the sitting room. This was the perfect stay for us, the only problem being the scorching temperatures which kept us inside more than we would have liked to have been. We hope to return when the weather is more normal!

Great place for the peace and quiet of the countryside and wildlife.

Cuckoo, deers, rabbits etc in or around garden. Glowworms which I haven’t seen in this country before. Interesting cottage with its nick knacks. Knew about the different floor levels, low doors from reading other comments but might be an idea to mention them in with the steep stairs comment, as it may be an issue for some. With having a foot injury had to be extra careful walking around outside as once off the path grass surfaces very uneven. As others commented drive/track lower than short central grass so drags against underside of car. Everything well labelled. Nick very friendly and helpful.

Perfect for us nature lovers.

..surrounded by nature and birdsong. The house had everything we needed and the bed was beautifully comfortable. The television was Good but slow broadband if you wanted iplayer or similar. Note that the stairs are very steep and there are several levels in the cottage and a couple of door heights low if you are tall. I think the entrance track could have been highlighted more. You really need a high clearance car...we struggled with our old car and high grass middle ridge. A really idyllic setting and we loved it. The tiger hill reserve is gorgeous and so wished we could have experienced the bluebells in full flower. So peaceful and relaxing.

As usual Sykes need to ensure that all images are upto date, furniture has changed.

The garden area is getting rather overgrown, ferns need cutting back as do brambles. However cottage very pleasant, peaceful surroundings. Lots of walks and nice places to eat within a short distance. Owner very nice chap. Lots of history about cottage. Will return in a early summer season.

A real hidden gem, just back from a 5 day half term break with our 2 girls (under 6).

We loved the sense of history, cozy living room, outside space to roam and play. We appreciated the big comfy beds (on the softer but supported side), provisions and well stocked kitchen. We were less keen on the steep (original stair winder), changes in floor height and some very keen (and numerous) ladybirds who decided to share the house with us. All part of the charm of the place thou. Thanks to Nick & we would highly recommend a stay at Warren Cottage. Carlos & Hannah & the girls.

Warren Cottage met and exceeded all our expectations.

The photos don’t quite capture the full beauty of this place — how could they? Coming from London, it truly felt like a kind of nirvana: completely secluded, deeply immersed in nature, with only birdsong breaking the silence. The cottage is very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. We especially appreciated the generous supply of firewood, the lovely selection of books, and the DVD player with a great range of films. With no real WiFi to speak of (doomscrolling thankfully out of the question), we found ourselves slowing down and choosing things with more care — it added to the calm and simplicity of our stay. The walks from the cottage are stunning, with wild, unspoiled countryside in every direction. The hosts are incredibly warm and helpful. I honestly can’t recommend this place highly enough.

We chose this property for a short break away from the city on the description/photographs and it did not disappoint us, as all we wanted was peace and quiet with privacy with no distractions or noise, in short a total de-tox from modern life.

We were fortunate enough to visit during the springtime when the Nightingales were in full song from dawn to dusk which was very welcome, and I would certainly recommend this property, with thought that by doing so that it may limit the availability if I wanted to visit again, which we very much hope to do so in the near future.

Wonderful cottage superb location so very peaceful a truly wonderful home would love to visit again and again.

We had a lovely, cosy stay at Warren Cottage, which is very pretty.

Nick was very helpful when we needed him. The only thing that could improve it would be a smart TV so that we could stream movies, but it was still very nice to switch off for a few days out in the country! We would recommend and we would also happily stay again.

Warren Cottage holds a very special place in my heart, I’ve been renting it since the 1980s.

Bringing my children over for the summer holidays when we were abroad and now it is wonderful to see my grandchildren enjoying the same space. It is the perfect holiday destination if you enjoy nature, woodland, good walks, dark skies and peaceful surroundings.

Everything we wanted and more!

What a beautiful rustic place Warren Cottage was and we can't wait to return. The private woods were wonderful with a little stream and rope swings. We toasted marshmellows and brought a telescope to watch the stars. We saw a barn owl, a weasel and so many other types of wildlife. The cottage itself was a rustic and authentic cottage and had everything we needed including an iron and hairdryer. The owners were so lovely to talk to too. There were wonderful places to eat locally. We cannot fault this place as its an excellent place to escape the fast paced life, I guess maybe the WiFi was slow but this was a blessing as it meant devices were left off. Honestly a wonderful escape

The cottage is in a lovely location in the woods and total peace and quiet, Lovely walks from the door.

. Plenty of private parking which is a bonus. The Woodburner was lovely with plenty of wood provided Good communication with Nick and Monica via email. The only down side for us was the constant fuel smell from the boiler which permeated throughout the cottage, The boiler being housed in the kitchen didn't make food preparation a very nice experience ..

Well equipped comfortable cottage.

Warren Cottage is special and perfect for anyone wanting total peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna where you can see the stars at night and hear owls.

We were shown the fantastic array of mushrooms that grow on the heath absolutely beautiful. The cottage itself has a good feel, warm and cozy and thoughtful basics that most people don’t provide like oil and condiments are. Tiger Hill and the surrounding nature reserve is unique a hidden gem in Suffolk. Whilst the cottage is wonderful the two bathrooms with one toilet is on the ground floor and the two lovely bedrooms upstairs which might be an issue with mobility problems as the stairs are steep and and have a shallow depth. We are in our 70’s and found it no problem.

Great place to relax, unwind and enjoy the wildlife in a picturesque area of the countryside. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing holiday at Warren cottage.

Coming from a crowded urban area, it was so relaxing waking up to only the sounds of wildlife. On arrival, the owners had left helpful notes around the house, along with a safety guide so you have a foolproof time away. We really appreciated this personal touch. The cottage itself is charming, perfectly set in the countryside and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The garden is surrounded by trees and woodland which we loved for its secluded feel. The cottage was well equipped with all the utilities and bedding you'll need and includes tea towels which the Sykes website said to bring. Lastly, you have Arger Fen and Tiger Hill on your doorstep. Both beautiful woodlands and very short walks away from the cottage. We loved this as we didn't need to drive everyday to have a great day out. We really didn't want to leave as the cottage and location had such a positive impact on us. Thank you so much for having us and we'll definitely be returning.
