    “On arrival at the property we were warmly greeted by Julia, made to feel very welcome and accompanied to the accommodation.”

    The studio apartment forms part of the main building but is completely autonomus which made it very private and very quiet. Spotlessly clean, the apartment has everything one might need for a short stay and more impressively everything that you may not ever have thought of but you just might need! A welcome pack included milk, butter, fruit, juice, beer and cordial and even a par baked pack of pastries in the freezer. The overall standard of appliances is extremely high, the bed was very ...

The overall standard of appliances is extremely high, the bed was very comfortable as were the other furnishings. The shower room facilites are excellent - the shower tray has a non slip floor. Wi fi is excellent. There is use of a private outdoor area which marginally overlooks the hosts extensive gardens laid to lawn and mature plants and shrubs. This is possibly one of if not the best accommodation we have stayed in and would highly recommend it. Many thanks to Julia and Mel a most enjoyable stay.

West End is a tasteful, single-storey property based in the village of Martlesham, Suffolk. It has a lovely studio-style living space and is close to plenty of amenities, ideal for a romantic getaway for a couple looking to see the beauty of Suffolk. Step into the charming home to see your lovely living space for the first time. Flick on the Smart TV and settle in nicely. Take turns in hosting date nights with your other half by cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Serve it up on the cute dining table for two. Gaze at the sunset before fixating on the glistening stars in the garden. A warm shower awaits you back inside ahead of being swept off to dreamland in the king-size bed. If you decide to pop out, there are shops nearby for any essentials alongside some pubs for a drink or two. In Martlesham go on a romantic stroll to see nature at its most elegant best through the Kyson Hill National Trust. Visit the Kyson Point on the walk to take in the tranquil to see the gorgeous Martlesham Creek. Nearby, you can spend an afternoon at the 18-hole Pay-and-Play facility in the early 16th-century Seckford Hall Golf Club, just 1.6miles away on the A12 road, or open to non-members is the Martlesham Leisure Club, where there is catering should you not fancy cooking. Venture into Ipswich by car, or hop on the handy park and ride 0.6 from West End, with convenient electric vehicle charging. If you’re travelling in the warmer months, Waldringfield and Woodbridge offer daily river boat trips, and whilst in Woodbridge you can also catch a show or film at the theatre. Even have a go at some kayaking to appreciate the rural scenery all around you. Woodbridge has plenty to offer for a day out. Go on an Anglo-Saxon heritage tour at Sutton Hoo, indulge in some history at the Bentwaters Cold War Museum, or enjoy the UFO theme at the Rendlesham Forest Centre. Felixstowe is slightly further away where you can take in the captivating, picturesque views of the Felixstowe Sea Front Gardens. Amble along the calming seafront to find The Spa Pavilion which has a fabulous theatre should you want to see a show. Top the day off by devouring some splendid street food at the quirky Beach Street Felixstowe. Book West End now to have a romantic holiday to adore for the rest of time.

MARTLESHAM VILLAGE

Woodbridge 3 miles; Felixstowe 10 miles

This old village, which dates back to Roman times, sits on the fringes of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 10 miles from the coast. It is often referred to as 'Old Martlesham' to distinguish it from the newer neighbouring village of Martlesham Heath which is just 40 years old. Martlesham Village is a fantastic base for a cottage holiday, it provides you with the essential amenities in a Post Office Store, two pubs, one of which dates back to the 1500's, and a fish and chip shop. The village is also home to Martlesham Creek, popular for sailing as it flows into the River Deben and down to the coast. If you would rather drive to the coast, visit Felixstowe just 10 miles away, it boasts a wide range of amenities along with a stunning beach with an amusement arcade. Slightly closer is Suffolk's county town, Ipswich, it proves itself to be a great day out with its shopping centre, cinema and series of parks.
