Naomi and Alex Tarry founded Best of Suffolk in 2006, with six properties, on a mission to bring the standards of boutique hotels to self-catering accommodation. The team have successfully grown our award winning business year-on-year and now represent over 400 stylish places to stay in Suffolk.

Back in the early days, a wooden seagull called Morris adorned the fireplace of Aldeburgh Cottage, Best of Suffolk’s very first holiday cottage, he soon became recognised as a symbol of our company, standing for luxury holiday accommodation in Suffolk.
From the beginning, Best of Suffolk has stood for consistently high standards and stylish properties. Before any property is launched, we ensure that every one of our properties will delight our guests and reach our brand standards, including, an agreed contents list, crisp cotton linen and oversized bath towels – underlining our commitment to delighting our guests, enabling them to have outstanding holidays.
Growing rapidly since 2006, the team’s commitment to listening to the needs of our guests and offering them the very best in stylish, well-appointed properties remains our number one priority!
ALEX TARRY – DIRECTOR AND CO-FOUNDER
Alex grew up near the Suffolk coast and says he has Suffolk in his blood! Returning to the county after studying Economics at Loughborough and spending a few years working in the city, he bought Lime Tree Farm, a home for him and Naomi, in 2001.
Always working together, Alex and Naomi established themselves in business soon after they met at university, buying and renovating houses to let to fellow students, helping with the woeful lack of available affordable student accommodation.
Whilst working in a number of marketing and sales roles for large corporates, he continued to pursue his passion of period property development, buying and restoring houses for long term letting, but buying a perfect, but dilapidated cottage on Aldeburgh High St.
Once restored, along with a stable conversion at Lime Tree Farm, Best of Suffolk, along with three brave clients, was born…six properties in total, in 2006.
Outside of work, Alex likes to be active, he has run two marathons for Children in Need, cycles, walks and runs everywhere and with Naomi travels around the UK and world.
NAOMI TARRY – DIRECTOR AND CO-FOUNDER
Naomi and Alex Tarry set up Best of Suffolk in 2006, driven by a passion to bring the standards and experience of a boutique hotel to self-catering.
The idea came from needing a suitable agency for our first cottage in Aldeburgh, discovering one didn’t exist and deciding we needed to create one!
Before Best of Suffolk, Naomi was at the BBC for over six years, promoting TV and radio programmes, such as Sir David Attenborough’s The Life of Mammals.
Prior to this, she was at the Government, working in the private offices of various Government Ministers, including Assistant Private Secretary to the Schools Minister Estelle Morris.
When she’s not at work, Naomi enjoys running, cycling and travelling with Alex. In recent years, keen to help others she has started a coaching business to help people fulfil their potential in all aspects of their lives.

Abi Charter - Marketing Manager
Creator of marketing strategy for sales and property recruitment. Author of creative content for email campaigns, blogs, PR and social media. Press Officer for Best of Suffolk, for all media-related content. Manager of marketing partners’ relationships.

Becky Alderton - Bookings Manager
Comprehensively leading phone, email and Live Chat sales.

Hannah Glennon - Portfolio Manager
Strategically creates success for the property portfolio, whilst owning pricing for each property and leading on the annual pricing project. Hannah is our property photographer, and responsible for launching new properties on our website, and guiding new owners through the holiday let process, whilst working hard to ensure they succeed. Hannah also ensures that existing property website pages are kept up to date in terms of photography and their descriptions.

Harry Peek - Guest Experience Manager
Ensures all guests have the best possible experience by monitoring satisfaction, experience and quality across our properties. Responds and acts upon customer feedback and comments.

Maia Gillespie - Sales and Administration Executive
Provides support for the reservations team by handling guest enquiries and processing bookings. Helps provide admin support for the whole office too!
