    “This property is a very small cottage close to the centre of Woodbridge.”

    The interior decor is very tasteful and attractive and the owner was very helpful in answering our questions prior to our stay. The garden is small and basic but has a table and chairs. The cottage has all the basic equipment that is usually provided in self-catering cottages. The owner also provided a few little extras like tea-towels and cling film. We would have liked the sitting room window to have had a net curtain as it looks out straight on to the pavement and passers-by can look in. ...

The cottage has all the basic equipment that is usually provided in self-catering cottages. The owner also provided a few little extras like tea-towels and cling film. We would have liked the sitting room window to have had a net curtain as it looks out straight on to the pavement and passers-by can look in. We would also have liked some instructions for the TV. We couldn't find the BBC channels on it at all! Provision of a chair and reading lamps in each bedrooms would also have bee appreciated. But overall our experience was mainly positive, and the location of the cottage is great for exploring Woodbridge. We discovered that "The Red Lion", a 400 year old pub within 2 minutes walk, offers good value and tasty food.

At the rear, the tranquil garden feels pleasantly generous, with trees creating a sheltered atmosphere and bistro furniture arranged on the gravel offering a lovely place for a slow morning drink or for reflecting on the day as it winds down. Nestled just a gentle stroll from Woodbridge’s charming independent shops, peaceful riverside walks, and welcoming eateries, the cottage enjoys a wonderfully convenient setting. Its proximity to scenic trails and open spaces also makes it a perfect retreat for guests holidaying with their dogs. The historic town of Woodbridge is extremely dog friendly with most shops all pubs, welcoming well behaved dogs and even providing treats. There are so many walks to do and pubs and eateries within walking distance that you can easily spend a week here without needing to use a car. The co-op is nearby, through the small park and is situated next to the fresh fish stall, green grocers, butchers, chemist and bakers. There are many dog friendly cafes and shops and the Deben Inns chain of dog friendly pubs have their own dog walking trail and regular offers accessible on foot.  Further afield, you can look out across the historic landscape of Sutton Hoo as you wander among the burial mounds and discover the story of the ship treasure, experience the creative energy of Snape Maltings where brick buildings meet broad reed beds and artisan shops sit beside the water, or take in the uplifting coastal air of Aldeburgh where the shingle beach, working fishing boats and scenic promenade make every visit memorable. A short walk takes you straight onto the Deben River walk where you can either make your way towards Sutton Hoo with a boat cafe and two pubs on route. Alternatively, the other way takes you to Woodbridge Harbour with its cafes and the Sutton Hoo replica ship museum and historic Tide Mill.
