Hayloft Cottage

The property was very impressive, looked better than the photo.

Everything in the kitchen that you would want,very comfortable lounge area. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable, ensuite bathroom fine only criticism was ,no shower gel or shampoo,which you always now find in these accommodations. A really good games room for all the family,would highly recommend it. ,

We really enjoyed our stay at Hayloft Cottage to celebrate the New Year.

We had four children in tow, including a toddler and baby, along with two dogs and three adults and the cottage was plenty big enough for us all! The whole site was decorated beautifully for Christmas, which the children loved! Comfortable beds and a lovely living space with all the essentials!

Great break in Hayloft cottage, beautiful location and well maintained.

Games room was great fun, lovely area to bbq overlooking the lake. A little later check out would be better as 9:30 in self catering is simply too early.

Beautifully located upside down cottage.

Well decorated and very comfortable. You can see the owners take pride in their accommodation. Part of a holiday cottage complex with shared laundry, hoover and garden. Garden not enclosed so not ideal for dogs if your dog is prone to running off. VERY steep wooden stairs up to kitchen and living area. No loo upstairs, so if you have mobility problems, it’s not ideal. Very comfy armchairs and sofa in living area. One light in the living room is on the blink. It’s working intermittently. Beds very comfy but pillows too hard. Loo seats not very comfy either. Shared garden is beautifully planted and well kept. Lovely lake with a swan and other wildfowl. Communal BBQs could do with a bit of TLC as they were not enticing enough to cook on. Very comfy outdoor seating. The Bird Viewing gazebo on the edge of the lake is dilapidated and covered in ants, so not usable. Lovely thought though. The pool table in the games room has got a large dip in the middle!

Third time visiting Ore Valley, sorry to leave!

Lovely stay in a tranquil location. Returning in September , and will book for next year. Lots of thought has been put into this development, very friendly and welcoming but also quite private. Thoroughly recommend.

Instructions on how to turn the hot water up would have been useful as bath was luke-warm and so too showers until we found out how to turn water temperature up

A lovely location, very easy to find, with a lovely lake and large garden.

Any criticism here is intended to assist the owner, who we never met, but don't let it put you off staying, as we had an enjoyable stay. There is one larger bedroom with an ensuite shower room and another with three single beds, two very close together, with a bathroom, which I assumed was meant for children. We asked for single beds and we were allocated the children's room. Upstairs is a lovely large kitchen / living room, which was very comfortable. There were sufficient plates, cups, etc. a welcome pack of cookies, a cake, and milk in the fridge, and a voucher for the local farm shop. The grounds had plenty of places to sit and relax. It is shared with other residents who, in our case, were out all day so we had the sunny garden to ourselves, although a pump was going all day long in an adjacent field on one day and on another there was loud music from somewhere and that did spoil the peace and quiet that we had hoped to find before we went off on the next leg of our trip. Mind you, as the holiday properties are on a farm I suppose we should have expected noise. As for the accommodation it was very comfortable, mostly clean, although the windows and oven could have done with some attention. There is a laundry room, which needed a good clean, for example the tumble dryer filter was full of fluff (which I cleaned out) and the sink and room in general was grubby. As a previous review said, there was no hair dryer, so I took my own, and plugged it in fhe hall. An iron and ironing board in the cottage would have been more convenient too. Overall this is very comfortable accommodation, great for a family, and the other cottages had families in them who enjoyed using the BBQ and outside space. We would return to the cottages the next time we drive through that area, although we would probably stay in one of the single storey cottages as I have some mobility issues and found the stairs to the living room difficult to walk up, but that was my fault in not reading the description fully before booking.

We loved the cottage & the surrounding area, the outdoor seating directly outside the cottage was a super addition too.

Lovely comfy beds, plenty of room & the open plan living area was just great. We hope to return for a winter break.

Lovely, comfortable cottage set in beautiful surroundings.

There was everything we needed and more! We loved the welcome pack and it was great to meet the manager who was very friendly. The weather was fabulous during our stay and we had a wonderful, chilled out break.

Very comfortable and clean.

Well equiped with everything you should need for an enjoyable break. If staying with children a small games room provides table tennis, pool and darts. Lots of board games and a nice climbing frame play area. I would certainly recommend The Hayloft and would not hesitate to stay again.

Couldn’t fault the hayloft it was very good, the facilities were excellent.

Beautifully presented property in a great location.

We stayed there with our two dogs and had a great time exploring the locality. Loved the welcome gift and the fact that Lydnsey (the owner) popped in to say hi.

We love it here, we’ve stayed several times now, but this was our first stay in Hayloft.

We found it very comfortable & cosy indeed. Spotlessly clean (as are all of the other cottages) - and everything provided you could possibly need. The welcome pack of biscuits, bread, milk tea & coffee was most welcome. The only downside was having to leave! We’ll certainly be back. Thank you for providing a perfect holiday.

Great location , nice pub up the road ,lots of walking options . Lots to do in a short drie away. Great for dogs. Would definitely consider staying here again next time we are in Suffolk.

have stayed at Ore Valley holiday cottages before and we were not disappointed with our stay at the Hayloft.

Located in easy reach of areas of interest. Sad to see storm damage to the old barn and hope it can be restored!

Hayloft Cottage is set in a quiet rural location, well appointed and including access to beautiful gardens and a well equipped games room.

Friendly and accommodating hosts, and the discount to the local farm shop got well used! Looking forward to returning next year.

Great property and we loved it.

The owners have made an excellent job of converting these buildings and they ticked all the right boxes. We had everything you could ask for. We were in the Hayloft Cottage. It was cosy, warm, comfortable - and very practical! The people managing this property are very kind and helpful. They even rang me the day before we took over the cottage to check that everything was still okay. If I could give them six stars I would do.

Set in lovely, relaxing surroundings, the holiday cottage was very comfortable and provided everything we could possibly need.

A lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings - spacious, very comfortable and clean.

We loved the outside area and how we were greeted by the ducks every day - a real treat! The courtyard has many plants and flowers, making the entrance attractive and inviting. The cottage is within easy reach of the beautiful coast and we enjoyed many lovely walks in the area. Loved the Suffolk skies!

At present lighting in bathrooms would not suit anybody epileptic as the dated fluorescent lights flicker for some time until stabilising.

A small comment but important. An evening stroll around the small lake in the evening watching the ducks is quite enjoyable. Cottages are laid out in such a way that you all have your space. We did not use the games room but it looked useful if the weather was bad. White Lion pub is within walking distance and food and welcome was good.

We liked the quiet, the setting, and the comfort of the house.

We didnt so much like the bedrooms being downstairs, and they were rather gloomy too. Had a good time though

No one made contact with us on arrival or checked that everything was OK.

However, when we reported a smell of oil this was dealt with promptly and the smell did not come back. Given that a password was provided, we were surprised to find the wi-fi was not secure. Also surprised there was no hairdryer.

As previous visitors we had an understanding of what to expect and these expectations were again met.

The COVID 19 measures taken to protect guests were welcome and extensive without being intrusive. Everything was as expected and arranged, and we were checked on within an hour of our arrival to find out if everything was ok. Always a peaceful escape from 'reality' Ore Valley Cottages are the only place I have returned to multiple times. Highly recommended.

Nothing else comes to mind - everything was as expected, well-equpipped and arrangements worked well.

I couldn't find a user guide for the cooker, but that wasn't a particular problem. Was there a vacuum cleaner on site? - I was going to hoover the carpets etc before leaving but couldn't find one around.

Hayloft Cottage is perfectly located for exploring East Suffolk and the coast.

The upstairs lounge and kitchen are roomy and homely with good furniture. The bedrooms are on the small side but very comfortable with good sized en suite bath/shower rooms. The online description of Hayloft is accurate.

One criticism only.

Hot water taps in 3 hand basins were seriously furred up and almost impossible to turn on. Otherwise this was an excellent facility in beautiful surroundings filling all our expectations of rural peace, places of interest to visit and lots of wildlife

Everything was to our satisfaction - the facilities, the beds, the beauty of the location and the unit itself.

The standard of the cottages was very much appreciated by us.

What a lovely surprise to arrive after a long day of travelling to such an idyllic gem in a lovely location. We'd love to come back when we have more time to enjoy the area. We did a baking course in Kenton Hall which was great fun! We left three bread and butter puddings in the fridge as we couldn't travel with them!! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dawn & friends.

The most enjoyable surprise was the lovely location and surroundings,the cottage was also very warm and cosy,which was extreme.ly welcome in view of the .cold grey wet week of weather we had.

The setting of the cottage is idyllic with the beautiful lake and the fact that the owners have planted so many flowers in the courtyard.

The house is lovely & cosy with great facilities. We really enjoyed playing table tennis in the evening! Could do with thinner duvets in the triple room for the warmer months.

We loved the open space of the living room/kitchen.

It was a great space for us to interact as a family and had plenty of seating for everyone to relax, yet still managed to feel warm and cosy. Bedrooms were a good size. A good base for discovering the area. Internet was a bit slow which might bother some (but not us)

Overall it was excellent - surroundings, comfort, welcome pack, quality of furnishings and equipment.

We were surprised to find faults in the one bathroom, which we would expect to have been known and resolved earlier, but as soon as we reported them they were repaired and everything was fine. We would recommend the property to anyone thinking of visiting the area.
