The property

This wonderful mid-terrace cottage is situated on a quiet road in the centre of the village of Pakefield, on the Suffolk coast, 250 yards from the clifftop path. An ideal base for couples or small families to get away and enjoy the peaceful surroundings in this lovely part of the country. The ground floor offers a cosy sitting room with everything you would need for a night in with a movie, and a dining room for all guests to enjoy fabulous meals cooked in the well-equipped, spacious galley kitchen. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, one of which is a comfortable twin room, while the master bedroom has the benefit of an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen leads out onto a yard and decked area, ideal for relaxing with a morning coffee while planning your day ahead, or enjoying an evening meal. Just a short walk from the cottage is Pakefields’ dog-friendly beach, the UK’s most easterly sandy beach. The beach is located below Kensington Gardens Park, which offers tennis, a boating lake and a tea room. A walk along the traffic-free promenade will bring you to the centre of Lowestoft with all its traditional seaside attractions and amenities to enjoy. There is plenty to do in the area and nearby, with Africa Alive, an excellent day out for wildlife lovers. Somerleyton Hall is widely acclaimed as one of the most beautiful stately homes in Britain and Pleasurewood Hills, the local American theme park, to name a couple, are fabulous places to visit. Within a short drive, you can also be on the popular Suffolk Heritage Coast, visiting Southwold, Walberswick and Aldeburgh. This cottage is ideal for friends and families wishing to explore this wonderful area with so much to do.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.

About the location

Lowestoft 1 mile; Beccles 8 miles; Southwold 10 miles.

Located on the Suffolk coast, Pakefield is a suburb of Lowestoft, however it was historically a village in its own right and is home to the parish church of All Saints and St Margarets. Pakefield has a selection of shops, bars and restaurants as well as a real fish and chip shop, and is home to The Seagull Theatre, as well as an art gallery. Nearby Lowestoft is a traditional seaside resort with a wide range of amenities including the Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park, whilst south of Pakefield is the coastal town of Southwold, famous for its pier, busy harbour and the colourful beach huts which line the seafront. Pakefield is a good touring base for all of East Anglia including the Norfolk Broads and the cathedral city of Norwich.
