Meet our Local Suppliers – Roundwood Interiors

In our series of talking to our local suppliers we have started with Emma from Roundwood Interiors.

We sat down with her and asked her a few questions about why she set up her business and what she enjoys about Suffolk.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company:

I have a background in Graphic Design, but renovating my own house gave me a taste for interiors and the rest, as they say, is history! 

How did the idea of Roundwood Interiors come about?:

I live on the site of what used to be Nelson’s estate, called The Roundwood because of how the woodland was planted on the grounds.  I wanted to honour the history of the place that started my design journey.

How would you set about capturing the essence of the Suffolk Coast in your Interiors?

The Suffolk Coast naturally lends itself to the perfect colour palette in my opinion. It’s not all about beachy colours, we have a rich language in our landscape that can be brought into design schemes to complement the location without needing to resort to coastal clichés.

Where did you find your inspiration for creating a perfect Holiday let? 

I’m a big fan of long rambling walks through the countryside, I love to explore bits of Suffolk that I haven’t been to before – nature is an endless source of inspiration for me. I spent a lot of time in Wales and Cornwall as a child too, it’s always invigorating to return there.

Do you have any events that you attend?

Decorex is a must-attend for me every year, it’s such a great atmosphere and I always come away bursting with inspiration and ideas.

What is your cocktail of choice for a sunny summer evening on the Suffolk coast?

I’d have to say a refreshing gin and tonic – of course it has to be Adnams Copper House, it’s my favourite! 

The Suffolk coast is the perfect setting, could you share a couple of your favourite local locations to enjoy?

So tricky to choose, but I am partial to Levington and Pin Mill.
