    “Nice cottage but would be even better if: Could have done with a spare kitchen bin bag so we could change it mid week.”

    Wasn’t prepared to buy a roll for a size we wouldn’t use a home The kettle needs descaling. I rinsed it the best I could but still had gritty tea. The fridge is very noisy and disturbed our sleep.

The property

Sitting peacefully down a private drive close to the village of Snape (1.1 miles from The Maltings) with ample parking. A cobbled garden path takes you to the door of your warm and welcoming holiday accommodation. The entrance hall doubles up as a utility room with three steps down to the light and airy living space, cleverly designed with a compact and well-equipped kitchen, relaxing seating by the well-stocked Welsh dresser, and a dining area by the double doors so you can make the most of the secluded garden. On the same level at the back of The Nookery is the bedroom with window onto the paddock and fields beyond with the bathroom adjacent. The private fully enclosed gravelled garden has a seating area with table and chairs for outside dining as well as a couple of chairs with stone table so you can move around with the sun. Accommodation The front door opens into the entrance hall with stone floor and three wide steps down to the rest of the accommodation. Wooden floors run through the remainder of the property with rugs. There's a door to the owner's accommodation however they will fully respect your privacy but be there for advice if needed. Entrance Hall/Utility Room Light streams into this practicle room through skylights. There's a washing machine, dryer, microwave and extra workspace if needed. Living/Kitchen/Dining Room Furnished to meet all your needs. The kitchen runs along one wall with units housing a slimline dishwasher, under counter fridge with freezer compartment, electric oven and ceramic hob. A comfy two-seater sofa and additional chair with coffee table invite you to sit and relax with a good book from the bookcase, music from the CD player with a small selection of CDs to choose from or watch the TV. The circular dining table and couple of chairs sit in a super spot by the double doors so you can enjoy the garden and watch the birdlfe and there's butcher's block if you need extra food prep space. Bedroom The living area runs through into the bedroom where super king-size bed taking pride of place between bedside units. A large window overlooks a paddock with the ancient petrol pump reminding you of the history of faming communities gone by and fields beyond. There's storage in a chest of drawers and beautiful mirrored wardrobe with additional drawer, plus a pretty armchair. Bathroom Between the living and bedroom areas; a modern bathroom with tiled floor and natural light. The bath has a massive rain shower over it and there's the essential WC and washbasin. The Garden The property is on the Snape Hall estate with private woodland, barn owls and the distinctive sound of a cuckoo. There's plenty of parking on the gravel drive and the garden is a great asset at any time of the year; fully enclosed with a combination of brick walls and willow fencing; the area's mainly gravelled with attractive grasses rustling in the breeze. A decorative wrought iron table and chairs sit by the living room doors with a couple of other chairs and stone table so you can move with the sun. The Nookery is located next to The Bothy, the other Suffolk holiday cottage available for holiday letting, and would be ideal to book in conjunction with The Nookery for breaks with friends.

The attractive village of Snape is located on the River Alde in the heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Snape is home to a village store and three pubs, all of which offer excellent locally-sourced food. Just outside the village is Snape Maltings a popular destination on the Suffolk Coast and home to a selection of gift shops and independent stores offering a diverse selection of foods, art and crafts. It also boasts a cafe, tea room and pub and is home to The Snape Maltings Concert Hall, the base for Aldeburgh Music whose festival was founded by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears in 1948. Just 10 miles from Snape is the market town of Woodbridge which has a wide selection of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The area is a haven for wildlife and there are a number of popular footpaths from Snape including the Sailors’ Path which follows the line of the river to the popular coastal town of Aldeburgh through ancient woodland and heathland. A beautiful and peaceful area that will appeal to holidaymakers all year round.
