Follow the trail to solve creepy clues and gather round to listen to spooky stories. There’s a frighteningly fun fancy dress competition every day. Go in your scariest outfits to be in with a chance of winning!

October Half Term 2020 will be the third year for Wrentham Pumpkins. This year, things are a little different. There will be two fields of pumpkins which visitors will be asked to spread out and use whilst applying social distancing. The site will also be open for more days this year, allowing more opportunities to visit.

Looking for an activity indoors? We don’t blame you! Purple Pumpkin Pottery Studio in Halesworth are open during half term and offer a warm and cosy indoor space there you and your children can let out their creative side! Whether you choose to paint a mug, an oil burner, or an actual pumpkin there something to suit all tastes and budgets. Painted items can be kiln-dried and gazed, and posted home after your stay.

With fabulous fresh-air pretty much guaranteed on the estate walks, Sutton Hoo is a new and exciting place to take the children in October Half Term 2020. Download and plan your ‘family trails’ in advance, as well as colouring sheets and activity booklets to help bring history alive. The Sutton Hoo website is a wealth of knowledge and a helpful tool to help plan your visit. The café, High Hall exhibition, Tranmer House and shop at Sutton Hoo have reopened with social distancing measures in place. They have introduced advance booking to keep everyone safe and maintain social distancing. Discover some of the UK’s rarest wildlife and enjoy family-friendly walks at Minsmere. Choose an idyllic walk or head to the coastal lagoons to see an impressive variety of birds, including avocets, bearded tits and bitterns. Those lucky and patient enough could see an otter around the reedbed pools! The RSPB site has re-opened some of it’s facilities in time for October Half Term 2020. All the hides are now open except North Hide. Booking isn’t required, but we would recommend taking a look at the information page below to ensure you know what’s open and where face masks are required.
