11 September Update – ‘Rule of Six’:
Following the Prime Minister’s briefing on Wednesday 9 September in which the ‘rule of six’ legislation was shared with the nation, we wanted to provide an update and some reassurance.
Click on the button below for a link to the Government website ‘Rule of Six’ page, which details the guidance clearly. We are advising that you familiarise yourself with the rules and understand how this may affect your upcoming holiday. (It’s worth noting the exemptions for support bubbles and a single family larger than six.)
We have spoken with many of you since the Prime Minister’s briefing on Wednesday, and we understand the majority of you would still like to have your holiday as planned, but reduce your party size so you are in accordance with the guidance.
As such, we will take it that your party size has been reduced to be in line with the guidance and your booking will go ahead, unless we hear otherwise from you. Again, please note single families and support bubbles are exempt from the rule of six.
Of course, if you are not able to reduce your party size, we are upholding guidelines from the CMA and Trading Standards for all bookings affected up to and including 31 October 2020. As such, because your planned trip cannot take place because Covid-19 guidance is restricting your ability to travel as a group of seven or more during the ‘rule of six’ being in effect, these are the options open to you;
- Re-booking the same property for a future set of dates until the end of 2021, without any administration charge.
- Receive a voucher credit for the full value of the booking for a future stay at the same property, to be taken by the end of 2021.
- Cancel your booking and receive a full refund.
If you wish to take any of the above three options, please call us with your booking reference number and your preferred option. The team are on hand to help, but please bear with us at this busy time, your patience is appreciated.
If you are due to arrive 1 November 2020 onward, please allow us to prioritise guests due to arrive imminently. We will be in touch in due course, and will be unable to process any of the above options until nearer the time when we know if the ‘rule of six’ is still in place.

We are delighted to announce that Best of Suffolk are officially ‘Good to Go’ for 4 July 2020 onward!
As part of the Visit Britain ‘We’re Good to Go’ campaign, Best of Suffolk have demonstrated we’re following all the necessary guidelines to open from 4 July and operate safely.
According to the Visit Britain website, “The ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard and supporting mark means businesses across the sector can demonstrate that they are adhering to the respective Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and check they have the required processes in place.”
So you can rest assured and book with confidence with Best of Suffolk. We’re Good to Go!
We’ve put together our enhanced cleaning guidelines, provided by The Professional Association of Self Caterers UK (PASCUK). To take a look in further details, they can be viewed here;
Covid-19 Affected Bookings
If Covid restrictions mean travel is no longer permitted, please contact our bookings team on 01728 638962, who will discuss with you re-booking your stay or process a refund.
In the event of a ‘local lockdown’ in which the property you are due to be staying in is located, we will be following all Government advice. As such, your stay will be cancelled and we will issue you with either a voucher credit, valid for a new booking at the same property for use before 31 December 2021 or process a refund, if preferred.
