UNDY 500: Day 2

Amsterdam to Copenhagen

With the first day of their challenge under their belts, Alex and Simon head north from Amsterdam into Germany.  On reaching the autobahn, they got the chance to really put their foot down and get ahead of the competition!  They may have been stopped by customs officials in an unmarked car, but after proving their innocence they were soon on their way once again!

Passing through Hamburg they made their way onto the ferry, and enjoyed the 45 minute journey over to Denmark (never forgetting how far they still have to travel!)

Immediately on setting ashore the scenery changed to beautiful views and wide open roads.  They motored on, racing for Copenhagen, still 100 miles ahead of them.

But what a place to spend the evening with their fellow drivers!  In a city of culture, with Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid, and the colourful waterfront buildings along the Nyhavn, Copenhagen’s new harbour.

During their evening they stumbled upon the launch of MAERSK’s brand new and biggest ever container ship!  It was open to the public, with a carnival atmosphere and free ice cream!

Now there was just time for a good night’s rest ahead of another 6-7 hours drive to Stockholm tomorrow!
