The Best Beaches in Suffolk
Have you heard about the best beaches in Suffolk? August has been a truly wonderful month for our photo of the month competition, with over 50 excellent entries! We asked our guests and social media followers to send in their photos of ‘beach life’. We couldn’t possibly decide which are the best beaches in Suffolk, so we’ll leave it for your to decide!
It must be said this month’s winner has been a tricky decision for the judges to make. We really do love seeing what our guests, family and friends are up to each month and let us into their adventures around Suffolk!
Suffolk has some stunning beaches, some vibrant and popular and others where all you can hear is the waves crashing against the shore.
Dog Friendly Beaches
Around Suffolk there are many wonderful beaches for you to take your four legged friends, including Aldeburgh, Southwold, Walberswick and Orford. During the spring and summer months, in Aldeburgh and Southwold, there some restrictions on dog friendly areas, but there are still some gorgeous beach walks along sand and shingle.
These are only a hand full of the wonderful ‘Beach Life’ theme entries featuring some happy looking four legged friends, enjoying a walk along Dunwich, Shingle Street and Southwold. We have some stunning properties which would be your base to explore all sorts of different beaches with your special four legged friend.
Southwold is one of Suffolk’s best known holiday destinations along with one of the best beaches in Suffolk. Perhaps the most obvious link to the seaside town’s seaside credentials is the 800 foot long pier. Along with a sprinkling of shingle, beach groynes and colourful beach huts there is no mistaking you are at the great British seaside, and these photos only confirm this!
These stunning photos were all taken from guests, friends or family who are clearly having a great time! Why not come and stay with Best of Suffolk in one of our gorgeous cottages in Southwold?
Although Orford might not be thought of as a beach, it really does allow you to enjoy the seaside feel. With the quay and sailing club right on the River Alde, you can still enjoy being by the side of the water, watching the boats cruse through the moorings.
Orford has so much going for it, with a magical bakery, Pinney’s deli on the quay, The Crown and Castle for special occasions and the Jolly Sailor if you fancy a quick bite to eat. Orford would be a wonderful location for a break all year round.
Aldeburgh Beach Air
Aldeburgh has plenty to explore on and around the beach. Along the beach front are any number of quirky historic buildings. These include the 400 year old Moot Hall, a Martello tower, a converted windmill and a Norman church.
Aldeburgh’s beach is one of our personal favourites with the famous fish and chips and a refreshing drink from Adnams. What more could you want from a seaside day out?
Please do get in touch to find out some more about our wonderful cottages in Aldeburgh. Don’t miss out on the wonders that Aldeburgh can offer!
Sunny Sunsets in Suffolk
Sunsets on the beach are something very special, particularity romantic when shared with a loved one.
After a tough decision from our judging panel, this magnificent photo of a rainbow over Aldeburgh beach was our winner!
