Snape Proms - 1 August - 1 - September

The Snape Proms offer an array of fantastic nights out in one of the world’s best-loved concert halls. The greatest jazz, folk, world, pop, as well as classical artists will be performing here in the heart of Suffolk. Prices start from just £6.50 for Prom tickets on the floor and they hold back 20 Prom tickets to sell on the day of the performance.

Out of the Case - Sutton Hoo - 19 August

Get a close up look at our fantastic collection of Sutton Hoo replica treasures at an informal talk and handling session in our Exhibition Hall. Made by master craftsmen using authentic techniques, our replicas show us what the treasures would have looked like 1400 years ago.

Aldeburgh Carnival - 18 - 20 August

Aldeburgh Carnival, as it is more generally referred to nowadays, is thought to be at least 170 years old. It has had various titles over the years, but was known as Ye Old Marine Regatta as long ago as 1835.  Once again, the town of Aldeburgh will be transformed into a colourful and buzzing family carnival, the Suffolk Coast’s festivity of the year!  As ever, the carnival will take place across the whole weekend, culminating in the fantastic High Street float parade, featuring the carnival queen, and late night lantern procession with beach firework display on Monday.

Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival - 26 August

Turning up the heat in the kitchen on Sunday will be Galton Blackiston of the Michelin-starred Morston Hall in North Norfolk, who returns after his popular appearance at last year’s festival. On Monday James Tanner, who has restaurants in Kent and the South West, heads up the menu. Both chefs are well known for their extensive television appearances, with James currently the resident chef on ITV’s Lorraine.
