Holidays in Southwold
Southwold lies in a beautiful area of Suffolk, sitting on a hill with the sea on one side and the Blyth Valley and Buss Creek on the others. This has meant that the town has limited development potential and therefore retained its traditional charm.
The town is popular throughout the year, with winter especially being a time for cosy pub lunches, bracing beach walks and the opportunity to wander around the town and shops without the summer hustle and bustle.
Southwold is famous for its beach huts that line the promenade, some of which we have available for rent. Southwold’s beach is well maintained and regularly wins blue flag status, so it’ll be a hit with the whole family.
Further along the seafront is the Victorian pier, home to quirky arcade machines, a water clock, restaurants, cafes and stunning views from the far end. The town lighthouse is also worth a visit; built in 1890 it stands 101 feet above the town, with a beacon reaching 17 miles out to sea. If you climb to the very top, you’ll be rewarded with views across the town and beyond.
Within the town, Southwold offers an impressive selection of pubs, restaurants and shops to explore and enjoy. With such great choice, self-catering holidays in Southwold cottages couldn’t be easier.
