The Old House and Cottage at Southwold

This self catering holiday cottage in Southwold has plenty of room to relax and enjoy a superbly stylish break. In The Old House, there are two separate living areas, the Drawing Room and the Reading Room, each with comfortable seating and open fires. The grand Dining Room seats up to 10 guests comfortably and also has an open fire. The country style kitchen has a large breakfast table as well as an AGA range oven. Upstairs the bedrooms are all large and comfortable with all guests being treated to wonderful luxury.

In The Old House Cottage, there is a well appointed kitchen with breakfast table, a stylish living room and a good sized bedroom upstairs. The bathroom is luxurious and well appointed. Outside is a good sized garden as well as off road parking for four cars.


GROUND FLOOR: Two steps up through a porch take you into the Reading Room.

READING ROOM: This room is a comfortable place to relax with a sofa and two chairs. A great place to read a book in front of the wood burning stove.

DINING ROOM: This grand dining room is decorated in striking red and is home to a long table with plenty of space for ten to dine in comfort.

DRAWING ROOM: This room is spacious and relaxing with two large sofas as well as two arm chairs, one with a foot stool, perfect to curl up in front of the open fire with a glass of wine. A cabinet in the corner is home to a flat screen television.

BREAKFAST AREA: The long breakfast table has wooden benches and two carver chairs and is a great room to start the day with a cup of coffee and the newspaper, looking out over the garden. This room is open to the kitchen.

KITCHEN: The kitchen mixes contemporary and traditional with modern appliances and an AGA range oven. The units are painted in a bold blue and there are plenty of work surfaces to prepare meals.

UTILITY: Off from the kitchen is a utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

FIRST FLOOR: One flight of stairs takes you up to the first floor hallway, from which all bedrooms, bathrooms and the loft suite upstairs lead.

MASTER BEDROOM: This very spacious master bedroom is home to a custom created super-king size bed and hand built wardrobe and dressing table. This is an absolutely stunning master suite.

EN-SUITE: Hidden doors through the wardrobe in the master bedroom lead you through to the impressive en-suite bathroom. There is a full length deep bath in the centre of the room, twin sinks below one of the two large mirrors on the wall. A large separate walk-in shower unit and W.C. are also available.

BEDROOM 2: This bedroom has a four poster bed and is decorated in quirky style with a built in wardrobe for storage.

FAMILY ROOM: A family room like no other, with two full size double beds, a two seater snuggle sofa and large wardrobe for storage.

FAMILY BATHROOM: The impressive family bathroom has a deep full length bath in the centre, separate large walk-in shower unit as well as twin hand basins and W.C.

LOFT SUITE: A small curved staircase leads you up to the loft suite, home to a twin bedroom and shower room, with walk in shower enclosure, hand basin and W.C.


GROUND FLOOR: From the High Street, a private alley takes you to the main door of the property, through which you enter into the kitchen.

KITCHEN: The modern kitchen is well appointed and makes excellent use of the space with good working surfaces as well as a small dining table for two.

LIVING ROOM: The stylish living room has comfortable seating with a sofa and armchair to relax in front of the flat screen television or curl up with a book in front of the fire.

BEDROOM: On the first floor is a good sized bedroom with a king-size bed and a large built in wardrobe for storage.

BATHROOM: The bathroom is modern and finished to a high standard with a full length bath, separate shower, W.C. and hand basin.

OUTSIDE: At the rear of the property is a good sized lawned garden as well as off road parking for two and up to four cars.

GARDEN ROOM: The garden room features a bar billiards table, garden furniture, a BBQ and an extra drinks fridge.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity plus a welcome bottle of wine to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

The Old House and Cottage are equipped with gas central heating and four wood-burning fires as well as an AGA range oven. Appliances include flat screen TVs with SKY channels in the drawing room and master bedroom, DVD player, and an iPod docking station. In the kitchen there is an AGA oven and electric oven and induction hobs. WiFi internet is available.

A travel cot and high chair are available on request at time of booking.

This self catering holiday cottage in Southwold is located in a terrace of houses, a short walk from the town's popular shops, cafes and delis.

The sandy beach at Southwold is adorned with a string of colourful beach huts that lead along to Southwold Pier at one end and towards Southwold Harbour at the other end the town boasts several excellent pubs and restaurants as well as a range of independent shops and galleries.

There is a pretty walk through the harbour and over a footbridge to the picture-postcard village of Walberswick, home to two good pubs (The Anchor and The Bell) and a long sandy beach. Fresh fish can be bought from the fish huts along the harbour. Southwold is home to the Adnams Brewery and the town's excellent pubs include one of our personal favourites, The Lord Nelson where you can try a range of Adnams bitters.

Sorry, no smoking or unaccompanied teenagers are permitted at this property.

A well behaved dog is welcome downstairs. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the online booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.

Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking to secure your booking. The balance and a returnable good housekeeping deposit are due six weeks before your holiday commences.
