The Curious Oyster
is a fabulous single storey property located to the rear of The Dunns. An exceptional property with open plan kitchen / dining / living space leading through a door to the bedroom with king size bed and en suite bathroom. This property also has a private secure garden and off road parking.
The owner of The Dunns and Curious Oyster leaves a very generous welcome gift consisting of a bottle of wine, biscuits, two bottles of Adams dry hop larger, small pack of pump street chocolate, 114g pack Pinney's smoked salmon, selection of Stokes sauces in sachets (ketchup, mayo and brown sauce) and a pack of Union ground coffee. There is also a selection of Pukka herbal teas, English breakfast tea and Hillfarm rapeseed oil in the cupboard.
All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity.
These detached self-catering holiday cottages are equipped with central heating and appliances including TVs with FreeSat, Sky and Wifi. The kitchen is well equipped with integrated appliances including a fridge/freezer, electric oven with induction hob and extractor, dishwasher, microwave and a washer/dryer. There is also a BBQ for use in the courtyard.
A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking.
These detached holiday properties iare in a wonderful position just minutes from the ‘English Heritage’ Norman castle and equidistant between the market square and the quay so you can choose to walk towards or away from civilisation.
The village has a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink, including The Trinity at the Crown and Castle, the Kings Head pub, the Butley Oysterage, the Jolly Sailor and a café by the quay with lovely views over the river. If you are eating in, good food can be purchased in the village from an award-winning butchers, the Pump Street bakery, Pinneys and also the Village Stores.
Orford is on the River Ore and boasts a working river quay that serves sailors, fishermen and sightseers. Across the river is the National Trust’s Orford Ness, the site of mysterious research projects in the 1950’s and 60’s but now a nature reserve, Havergate Island, managed by the RSPB and river trips to visit it can be booked from Orford Quay.
There is additional parking at the Castle for a minimal charge per day.

A well-behaved dog is welcome. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking.
Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer.
