Interiors have been designed with rest and relaxation in mind. Quality new appliances and stylish furnishings have been introduced throughout the stunning open plan living/kitchen/dining area; great for socialising at any time of the year with patio doors opening onto the garden for summer months and a modern wood burner to keep you cosy in winter. Two large high ceilinged bedrooms sit on the ground floor with a chic shower room, and another two on the first floor with great rural views and a smart bathroom between them.

The Artist's House at Orford

You'll know you're somewhere special as soon as you step into the main living area which is sure to be at the centre of your holiday. All four bedrooms are a generous size and are furnished to an equally high standard so no guests will feel 'short-changed'! The two on the ground floor are well suited to guests with a mobility issue, and the shower room sits off the inner hallway too, making it easily accessible for both rooms. On the first-floor you'll find the other two bedrooms, both with far-reaching views over the garden to the countryside beyond; the contemporary bathroom sits between the two.

There are few better places on the Suffolk coast to stay than the small fishing village of Orford, with excellent local food found in shops and eateries, complemented by a relaxed way of life and spot of history with the castle. The outdoor space 'at home' is also particularly well suited to families, with space and furniture for long lazy lunches and BBQs, as well as a lawn for kids and pets to run around in the fresh air. Parking's not a problem with space on the drive and the unmade track which takes you from the main road to The Artist's House.

Ground floor:
The front door takes you into the porch, with WC ahead of you and super open plan living/kitchen/dining room to the left, with tri-folding doors to the garden. Beautiful wooden floors are in the living space and inner hall, with carpets in the bedrooms and tiles in the shower room.

Open Plan Living Space
Ideal for socialising with family and friends, combining a quality kitchen, seating and dining area with folding doors to the garden and beautiful wooden floor. The kitchen is designed in a U shape, so guests can sit at the breakfast bar whilst chatting to the chef! Integrated appliances include a waist height electric oven with microwave above, fridge, freezer, induction hob with extractor, dishwasher and washing machine with airer or washing line in the garden.

There’s a modern wood burner and both dining and living areas are furnished to a high standard with a huge L shaped sofa as well as a wonderfully deep sofa, a dining table with eight chairs and an eclectic mix of other furniture, artwork and home accessories.

Shower Room
This contemporary room with designer tiles has a large shower cubicle in one corner with shower rose and adjustable hand shower; there’s also a washbasin, WC, heated towel rail and window giving natural light.

Garden King Bedroom
High ceilings, attractive feature fireplace and large windows overlooking the garden make this a lovely room with a king-size bed in the centre. An Oriental style cabinet has shelves for your clothes, in addition to a chest of drawers and a couple of hooks for hanging things on the back of the door.

Front Twin Bedroom
Again with feature fireplace and high ceilings, this is also a lovely bedroom with full-size oak frame twin beds, a chst of drawers and hooks on the back of the door.

First Floor
Carpeted stairs rise from the inner hall to the first-floor landing where both carpeted bedrooms and the bathroom with tiled floor are located.

First Floor King Bedroom
With far reaching views over the fields, this is a generous sized bedroom with oak king size bed facing the large double window. There's also a hand-carved mahogony bench, the perfect place to sit with morning coffee. Bedside drawers and a clothes unit give space for you to unpack.

Conveniently sitting between the two bedrooms; with natural light from the window and quality fittings which include a bath with shower rose and hand shower over, WC, washbasin and heated towel rail.

First Floor Twin Bedroom
Another large bedroom with full-sized twin beds, also with superb views over the garden to the Suffolk countryside beyond. There's also a storage unit here with hangers, drawers and a shelf.

The Artist’s House sits in a tranquil space down a private track, close to all that Orford has to offer with shops, restaurants and the river; making it an exceptional location for a family holiday or short break. There’s parking on the track at the front with a front garden running down to the larger rear garden, bordered by fields – simply perfect for relaxation and long lazy lunches. This semi-detached holiday house sits down a long private off-road track with a parking space on the drive for one car and ample on the track if needed.

There is a small garden to the front of this semi-detached Suffolk holiday house and generous sized garden to the rear, mostly enclosed by hedging with a garden shed (not in use). Outdoor furniture encourages you to make the most of the morning light with your cup of tea and breakfast, or the afternoon and evening sun.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This self-catering holiday cottage is equipped with central heating and appliances include a TV, DVD player and BT Fibre Broadband. The kitchen is well equipped with a waist-height electric oven with microwave above, fridge, freezer, induction hob with extractor, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

A travel cot and high chair are available from the property owners on request at the time of booking

Orford is a delightful coastal town, set in one of the best positions along the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The small town provides a peaceful idyll for nature lovers wanting to explore the Ness, beautiful coastline, an English Heritage 12th Century castle, Orford Ness (National Trust nature reserve) and an iconic lighthouse overlooking the River Ore. The town has become a real food destination with two fantastic family friendly pubs - The Kings Head and Jolly Sailor, award-winning restaurant - The Crown and Castle, Butley-Orford Oysterage and award-winning Pump Street Bakery.

River trips can be booked from Orford Quay, which sail down the River Ore up to Aldeburgh and then back down to see the famous avocets at the RSPB’s Havergate Island. The historic market town of Woodbridge, stands on the banks of the River Deben and offers a wide range of shopping facilities, pubs, restaurants, a cinema and swimming pool. The attractive village of Snape, which lies at the head of the River Alde and home to the world famous Snape Maltings is only six miles away. The Maltings has a concert hall and a variety of shops including Kitchen, home ware, delicatessen, clothing, antiques and furniture together with cafe's and public house.

Two small/medium sized well-behaved dogs are welcome downstairs. If you wish to bring a dog it must be mentioned at the time of booking on the booking form and is subject to our conditions of booking. If you'd like to bring more dogs please get in touch, if they're small the owners will consider your request.

The access to this property is down an unmade road. The owners recommend that care is exercised when driving down the road and that you drive at no more than 5mph. The road is an access road owned by the local farm.

Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking to secure your booking. The balance and a returnable good housekeeping deposit are due six weeks before your holiday commences.
