Seahorse Cottage at Aldeburgh

You know you’re somewhere unique from the moment you step into the entrance hall from the front deck, leading to an open plan well-equipped kitchen/living/dining room with sea views through lovely sash windows dressed with slatted blinds. The ground floor bedroom has a day bed which will be made into a single, twin or double to suit your needs, with modern shower room next door. Guests in the master bedroom on the first floor will wake to the sun rising over the sea in the super king bed and enjoy the stunning views with their morning coffee on the balcony; the luxury bathroom with quirky port hole window is also off the landing. The property also boasts beautiful wooden flooring throughout.

A raised timber decked open veranda at the front is the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by with a G & T and there’s plenty of unrestricted parking on roads close by.

Ground floor:
Step into the entrance hall of this stylish cottage from the deck, where you'll find a small porch and entrance with coat hooks and mirrors, leading through to the living/kitchen/dining room and the rest of the house beyond. There's an inner hall where the guest bedroom and shower room are, plus storage for buggies and some beach gear, easily accessed through a back door to the side of the cottage.

Kitchen/Living/Dining Room
Fabulous light and airy open plan room with well-equipped kitchen nicely divided from the rest of the room with a breakfast bar and vintage bar stools to perch on with your G&T! The dining area has an original 1960s table with four chairs; a fab sofa and two designer armchairs sit in the living space where you can enjoy the sea view through the louvered sash windows, watch the telly or flick through some of the interesting mix of books left for you.

The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven with induction hob and extractor, slimline dishwasher, under counter fridge with ice compmartment and a concealed microwave.

Wooden painted stairs rise to the first-floor landing with hand rail all the way.

Guest Bedroom
Off the inner hall this lovely light room is great for any members of the family or friends with John Lewis bed which is a single (75cm wide) bed which can also be made into a twin or double, just let us know your preference and the housekeeper will prepare it for you. Stylish art and shaker pegs make this a luxury dressing room if there are just two of you staying.

This modern shower room has a large cubicle, wash basin, WC, heated towel rail and natural light.

First floor
Stairs rise from the living space to the first-floor landing with yet more wonderful coastal views. The master bedroom and bathroom open off the landing and there’s ample storage in built-in cupboards for all your clothes.

Master Bedroom
What a wonderful place to wake up with views across Moot Green towards the sea and double glazed French windows opening to an east facing balcony, furnished with small table and chairs so you can enjoy your morning coffee and watch the world go by. Furnishings are simple and sophisticated with super king size bed dressed in beautiful bedding, bedside tables with lamps, Saarinen chairs and a vintage linen dressing the window with handmade wooden shutters to ensure a good nights sleep.

Gorgeous bathroom with view over the beach. A large bath sits under the window and there is a wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.

“Grandpa in My Pocket’s” cottage has a metal open veranda to the front; a super place to sit and watch the world go by, as well as an area paved at the side leading to the back door. Guests will be able to park on roads close by; directly outside the house is restricted but convenient for a couple of hours or overnight and there’s unrestricted parking near the White Lion Hotel.

All prices include 100% cotton bed linen, towels, heating and electricity, plus a welcome bottle of wine and biscuits to help you get your break off to a relaxing start.

This self-catering holiday cottage is equipped with central heating and will be well equipped ready for guests to enjoy from spring 2017. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven with induction hob and extractor, slimline dishwasher, under counter fridge with ice compartment and a concealed microwave. There's also a washing machine in a cupboard in the inner hall.

This stunning semi-detached cottage is in a great location close to everything in the vibrant and colourful town of Aldeburgh. Literally feet from the promenade, boating pond, fish huts on the beach selling fresh fish and the historic Moot Hall and, to the other side, just a couple of minutes walk to the town center with an excellent range of restaurants, pubs, takeaways, independent shops and galleries, as well as an independent cinema.

There is a wonderful walk, almost from the front door, along the coast to Thorpeness, passing the famous Scallop shell sculpture, plus pretty walks around the nearby Aldeburgh Marshes and along Sailors Path to Snape with it’s renowned Aldeburgh Music for those looking for some culture and Snape Maltings for a touch of retail therapy!

For the sporty, there are tennis courts; nine hole and 18 hole golf courses (rated as one of the top 100 in the UK) in Aldeburgh and, for those who enjoy birdwatching, boat trips are available on the River Alde and RSPB Minsmere is close by. There are also tennis courts and a golf course in Thorpeness and plenty of easy cycle routes around the county.

The property has beautiful wooden flooring throughout and some parts have underfloor heating, you may want to bring slippers for added comfort.

Whilst there is a ground floor bedroom and shower room with toilet making it suitable for guests with a minor mobility problem who prefer not to use the stairs, Seahorse Cottage isn't wheelchair friendly.

Once you have filled out the online booking form, you will be given the option to pay by credit or debit card, or by BACs transfer. A 25% deposit is requested at the time of your booking to secure your booking. The balance and a returnable good housekeeping deposit are due six weeks before your holiday commences.
